No, you can tell that it destroys her that we don't have a child yet. I've seen her quietly sobbing while holding her nephew, which was heartbreaking, but it indicates she's as aware as I am that something is wrong.

Doesn't sound like my kind of game. If things get worse I'll look elsewhere, but not without ending this relationship.

We do have the money, and we are embarking on that journey.

My question for you is this, has it always been this way or is this a gradual change over the years? If your wife has always been passive, shy, etc. then there is not much you can do but if she used be all over you and that went away, then you are the problem. She has always been submissive, yes. She is quiet, shy, and not at all aggressive, not typical at all. Which is great in some ways, but as I'm finding out, not so great in others. So things have changed, but she hasn't. I suppose it could …

I care about what they tell my wife is normal for married behavior. A lot of her thoughts on marriage come from them. My wife is a naturally submissive woman, passive, shy, not at all aggressive like the typical modern woman. I knew this when I married her, and it's one of the reasons I love being with her. However, she is easily influenced by the opinions of others.

I will definitely not want a dog in place of a kid. I will put off the whole child thing for now, but getting a dog instead would be dumb for us. not sure if I can handle adopting. Again, my kid is out there somewhere. I'm not even sure if it's a girl or a guy, but it's eight now, and I want one of my own.

I do miss the chase. But my wife was the first woman who both gave me the chase and a relationship. She still does, but it's getting tiring.

Thanks for your response! Is there a good way I can do this without her being able to go back to her gal friends and have them paint me a misogynistic dick? Ideally, I wish I could just make a girl approach me in front of her, but she's very physically affectionate and I don't think anyone would dare.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
