Yeah, that judgemental bit about the two guys talking about a hobby of theirs just stood out for me and I stopped reading as soon as I read that paragraph. Those two guys were as authentic as you could be, just talking about a topic that is important to them, not caring about anyone else. Honestly, I'm aspiring to be those guys, having a hobby that you are so knowledgable and passionate about that you can talk about it in detail and not care about the opinion of others, because it's important to…

This is an absolutely fenomenal comment! Honestly, this should be a post by itself, really. Thanks a lot for writing it, I concur with everything you said! Gratitude and empathy are huge, especially when you direct them at yourself!

Thanks a lot, I appreciate your comment a lot! I'm very happy to read that, especially because I was and sometimes still am that anxious person, and that's okay. As long as we try to improve a situation, we're winning in my book, and asking a girl for the time or asking her out is part of winning, however small or big that is for a person :)

Hey my man, I'm very happy to hear that, and I hope you continue striving for the best version of yourself, however you want to define that for you (which is the most important thing; be it that you want to ask a girl out, get a promotion at your job, or just trying to get out of bed) :) Small steps are still steps. Being human encompasses a lot of emotions, and one of these emotions is being nervous or anxious to ask a girl out. Been there, done that, and it still happens; and that's okay :) We…

"Being a pussy" is such a toxic sentence, especially in this context. This is just being human. Such situations cause anxiety for evolutionary reasons (one of many reasons, just to give you an idea how complex this is); back in the days if you would not fit into a group or would not be able to mate was a death sentence; you were casted out and left alone. Luckily enough, nowadays this is not as extreme as a few thousand years ago. Lets rephrase this with a more positive attitude and without putt…

She basically asked how I was and said sorry for not having written a reply to my last message two months ago. I appreciated the fact that she apologized, we all have our lifes and they can be quite complex; I'm just in a phase in my life were I can appreciate an apology but learn from these situations and experiences, and the lesson for me in this situation was that I don't want to spend time on a person that doesn't want to spend some time on me. You're also reading my half of it, and the girl…

Ghosting also tells you more about that person. Was ghosted in the past by a girl, she then contacted me two months later, told her directly that ghosting is not okay and wished her well. Case closed. I don't have any room for people like that in my life :)

Best reply in this thread IMHO. The older I get, the more I realize that life is a big calibration game: Most often we're trying to find a healthy, sustainable middleway in a lot of things we do, be it dating, work, or hobbies. Nonetheless, I understand where OP's coming from and he/she might be grieving and this is part of the process; these encounters most often affect you quite a bit.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
