I'm going to criticize Architecture, because it doesn't honor the janitors that work in the building. And I'm going to criticize Road Construction, because it doesn't honor the people who drive on the roads or the women who stand there holding a stop sign that get paid more than I do.

Elevatorgate was the thing for me too. Before that, I saw no difference between "feminism" and "equality", and simply saw them as synonyms. Just like I was raised to believe. I didn't even know that the MRM existed or needed to exist. The way they hold prejudice toward men really set me off. I thought feminism was just about helping out women, like getting them into STEM or protesting genital mutilation in the Middle East. But apparently you have to also hold disdain for men, like that we're inh…

I see Feminists the same way I see Christians. You have the types that go to church twice a year and couldn't tell you what the 10 commandments are. The feminist equivalent are the ones that learned about it, were taught it's about equality, and that's about it. They're all good people who mean no harm to anybody. In contrast, you have the fundamentalists. They hold protests at soldiers funerals, spread lots of hate, and organize people to vote against gay rights. The feminist equivalent are the…

Yeah, they act like it doesn't even happen. But then again, we do the same thing when people mention Red Pill or AVfM.

I think the answer probably can be found with a thorough review of consent. Consent cannot be implied. A contract without consent is invalid. Start with those facts and go from there. If at any point someone's consent is being violated, backup and try another path. I think, for example, having to opt-out means that you were opted-in without consent, so, that's a violation. I guess it could be argued that you opted-in when you had sex, I don't know.

If she wants to be a single mom, she can pay for it.

Why pull down when you can lift up? This is what makes the MRM the good guys. Feminists don't seem happy unless progress also includes reparations for the sins of our great grandfathers.

Except for places like India and Saudi Arabia where women really are behind, I think feminism is mostly a female power movement, not an equality movement. This is evidenced at the way they treat problems affecting males. The MRM wouldn't even have to exist if Feminism walked their talk.

Yeah, I think you and I have used "gender" and "sex" interchangeably for our entire lives, and so has our teachers and government forms. We use the word gender because it sounds nice and more professional than sex. But it turns out those two words really do mean different things. It still catches me off guard. Sex is penis vs vagina. Gender is how you feel on the inside.

I think the overall goal should be for both feminism and the mrm to be unnecessary one day. Until then though, I hang out with the group that's more egalitarian, the mrm.

I know that feel. Both of my parents ditched me. My grandmother raised me since birth. She herself was already using food banks, and until her social security kicked in, sometimes we'd go a month without utilities. Never saw a penny from either of my parents. My gram never "officially" had custody, even though she was 100% raising me since my birth; maybe nothing could have been done. I wonder.

because it seems less masculine. No, it's because it takes more effort, especially in older age. Plus, I hate the feeling of my dick touching the inside of the toilet. It happens how matter how careful I am when tucking. That feels so unhygienic, especially in a public toilet.

There's also the other side of gender roles. You hear all about little girls getting baby doll and kitchen toys, and how that limits them and needs fixed (and these college rates show it mostly has been fixed), but you hear nobody complaining about boys being pushed into labor (steel, coal, construction, etc) and military. It's always men driving around beat-up work trucks looking for scrap metal to recycle.

I describe it as learning that nice definition in grade school, and believing myself to be a feminist, but then when I tried to get more involved, I realized that when feminists group together, they are nothing like the definition. So I distanced myself from feminism, and called myself a plain old egalitarian. I then discovered the MRM, which is trying to solve issues of inequality. Unlike feminism (in reality), the MRM is fully compatible with egalitarianism. When you think about it, it's the "…

It's all about perspective. For someone in my situation, where the only time a female talks to me is when I'm in line at the store and she's the cashier waiting on me... if one remembers me as a customer, bam, she just became my only/best chance at love. I spend the next few weeks daydreaming about her and our life together. I know it's sad. I wouldn't call myself friendzoned, as I know she was just being kind. But still, that's 100% more than any other woman has done for me in the past few year…

Also, women should know that if they're his only female friend, they are already the #1 female in his life after his mother. Of course he's going to have feelings for her. It's still primarily the guy's fault, but women should also know better than to believe she, the only female who acknowledges his existence, is only a friend in his eyes. Hell, I've got it so bad, I'm falling for convenience store cashiers. She noticed I cut my hair has she handed me my change, which is more my-age-female inte…

A combination of "man up" and the realization that marrying is the only chance he'll have to see his kid that he'll end up paying for anyway.

You really can't beat military benefits. Best healthcare in the country, and they pay you more if you get married or have kids. They also pay your rent and food if you're married (otherwise you live in barracks and eat Army food). There were many soldiers in my company who got contract-married for that rent/food money. It's also how a lesbian and gay guy in my company hid their orientation - they married each other. Everyone in my family says I should have stayed in. Unfortunately, I have a loud…

as all that bad comparatively. Seriously. Every female on there is either a chubby bisexual vegan or a white trash single mom. Every once in a while you find a woman with the same goals as you, so you send her a couple paragraphs... and she doesn't reply. Almost none of them reply.

The definition of feminism we are taught in grade school doesn't get into the patriarchy and privilage crap. It's simply defined as a movement for equality, such as the right to vote and work. Something that anyone would consider good. That's why many MRAs started out as feminists, and why many people defend feminism despite what we know now. We learned how professional feminists really act, and we are now cautious and critical when the term comes up. Most people haven't learned what we did, and…

For all the talk of ending gender roles, I've never seen a group push gender roles harder than feminists. They define what it means to be a "real man" more than high school football coaches do. And nobody pushes the "all men are potential rapists" more than feminists. There's not a negative male stereotype that feminism isn't in favor of spreading. Oh, they want to end gender roles, but only the female ones, and only the negative ones at that.

And there is no rape culture. Given how supportive people are of anal rape being a part of prison sentences, I'd say there definitely is a rape culture.
