Many people try to convince others and themselves that holding frame means showing Many people ... holding frame means showing That's exactly it. "Holding frame" as an outward demonstration or performance of some thing to some one(s) is exactly backwards and self-defeating and empty. "Holding frame", for many, becomes a purposeful social performance, and creates a radius of faux-human stench around the 'holding frame' performer. "Holding frame" is a term best thought of as a fucking reminder to …

I think you're letting some pedantry obscure the intent of the post. I doubt you have any objection to the intent of the post: Humans can unlearn beliefs, even acute/chronic beliefs. In fact, your reference to external assistance (social workers; other professionals) might just help some random reader realize, "Hey. He's right. If I need to, I can use Other Helpful Humans to delearn my internal crapulence." The point of the post is to remind the reader that even beliefs that seem obviously and p…

This is why TRP is the most interesting sub in my sub list. I know of no other contrapulation of thought-writers that actively embrace -- and talk about -- the gap between beliefs and the 'reality' beliefs create. /r/TRP is, to many, a source of tactics to get fine trim. But that's the small-scale version of what's going on here. What has always impressed me round hereabouts is that there's an eager dialog about how humans operate from their actual beliefs/frames, despite the verbal claims that …

Sexual strategy is not for those who are only in short term relationships. File that under "Duh/no shit". But TRP/sexual strategy != this particular subreddit. This thread that you've joined is about the dynamics and demonstrated preferences of this particular subreddit... as being hugely counter-productive to ongoing discussion of LTR TRP. You'll either get your head around that or you won't. Good lord.

So... on a subreddit that continually demonstrates massive momentum and interest around non-LTR sexual strategy, you want to put up stickied posts about LTRs. That's not what I personally call "sense". But "makes sense" is always a personal matter. Many people don't know that. Despite my interpretation of your words, I definitely see your good intent to be of service. I believe that intent is best fulfilled by, if/when the time comes, adding a sidebar link to a LTR TRP subreddit. That's gonna be…

The red pill is about sexual strategy for men. Including short and long term relationships. Yeah, but that LTR aspect is way under-represented by the traffic on this sub, hence this thread. Splitting it off to a new sub makes no sense To you. But not to others, hence this thread. that is a core topic here. ha. no. Hence this thread. . There's clearly some interest in an LTR TRP sub. So don't worry about it. Just mod this subreddit and let others do what they will. geez.

I think this is an idea whose time has come. Good on ya for bringing it up and wording about it clearly. I agree wholeheartedly. Pair bonding is a thing. It's known, it's real, it's common and humans are highly prone to it. Just fucking look around. Billions of people aren't tragically brainwashed, they're just humans. And humans will pair bond. So it's only (un)common sense to have a mental/emotional framework that grasps the dynamics of both hypergamy and the pair bond. Having a LTR TRP subred…

good ideas, but I think you nailed it with just "quit bragging"... and then off to a brand new non-terrible topic of your choosing. but no matter what routes you try, they'd definitely be interesting to read about.

I agreed so hard I came ... up with some faster lines. But credit where credit is due: your comment is actually implement-able. "Being harassed implies men want to look at you." "We get it. You're hot. You get harassed." "That creep was hitting on me at the bar" "Yeah. Drunk men do that."

woah. You just told another person that you learned something from them. To those addicted to zero-flexibility frame control, take heed: Does /u/BurgundyCarpet seem weaker or stronger for having done so?

yeah. fine thoughts, those. By doing the "quit bragging" statement, you demonstrate that you perceive her real and unconscious(?) frame and respond to that.

I see. I reckon total abstinence is a good way for some to detox from a bad habit. Like a tolerance break.

At first, I really liked your comment. But as I thought more about it, when you fail to execute/honor your own agreements (being late), a small degree of mea culpa is totally appropriate. really fucking useful and totally on-frame. Further, vigorously avoiding particular words because FRAME seems really petty when you failed to keep your word/agreement. The presence of a particular word doesn't fuck up your frame.

This is a fucking timely and well written post. I want to pick a nit about this paragraph, at the same emphasizing my agreement and esteem for the post as a whole. When men engage in violence they reenter The Real of natural masculinity. In my opinion (and I suspect the OP's), that statement is true in rare, rare cases. Eliciting violence from state- and culture-controlled men is FUCKING SIMPLE and therefore pandemic. That sort of violence isn't The Real Real, but it's closer to The Real than al…

I have some things I've wanted to say about Pride and Prejudice for a while. So thanks for your post. Also, I subscribed to this remarkable just-discovered-it subreddit, in part because I wanted to reply to this post. but Fitzwilliam Darcy and Frederick Wentworth need to be critiqued for their game. To my thinking,... You can't and shouldn't presume Darcy and Bingley have any game at all. They are both fictional characters of a story created by an author who happens to be an extremely imaginativ…
