I'm French. Divorce law is very different here. It's way less in favor of the women. Guess what. We have the exact same thing happening because point 1. And 2., An current narrative about men being all narcissists assholes. All stats are the same.

I feel for you OP. I find it hard to go with the ,"it's just kids, it will pass". We don't know how long we're going to be here. It's wasted moments.

Seazing the opportunity of this post to share my situation. Been nearly 2 years. Still tough, I'm still grieving the loss of my family. As some other mentioned she stills has a place in my heart, don't really know which one... Anyway, I never asked her anything since she left. On the other side it goes from normal parallel parenting (my call), to her pushing for a more chill comparenting (no thanks), to her sending long message about how an Andrew Tate / covert pervert piece of shit narcissist m…

Same ! Like every 3 months she's going mad like I'm twitter or something and send me long text projecting what she's being seing on social media about how men can be terrible human being. Meanwhile I didn't spoke to her except strict kid stuffs. Do I need to add that SHE was the one who left.

Mmmm it gets better...not sure about that. I know we're supposed to be positive and all, I'm better for sure than I was 2 y ago, but being 50/50 is still shitty as hell. I envy so much not having to wonde which week is going to be x event, not to think about next time my daughter will leave, when she'll be back etc.

Bro I'm close to 2 years post divorce. I was right there after 1 year. And I still have huge moment of sadness. My family is gone, I guess I still have to deal with this until the end.

Don't get yourself fooled by those Internet concept overly promoted, specially in reddit. Introspection is always an interesting work, but you're the dumpee so blaming yourself is no surprise.

Hey Brother, so sorry for you. Hold on, kids need their father. I can't believe it's 2023 and all the progressive bullshit, how it's fucking ok for women to be able to do this and no be put in a fuckin jail. Someone explain this to me plz.

My parents divorced when I was very young. I never knew them together and don't have any conscious memories of the divorce. ...and it fucked me up, like it gave me needs and value opposite to be ok being a single parent. I'd gone to hell and beyond to have a stable family. It crushed me beyond anything when my ex left and my in laws dropped me.

It's official stats. And I wish my experience was different but this is truly the kind of women I've been married, dated, reading for months in r/divorce. I wish it could be different, but apparently this is the deal at 40+ . Obviously there are some gems somewhere in this vast ocean of shit, but I'm done swimming in it.

Divorce single mom are red flag because we know that 80% of the time they were the one who left. That we all heard how toxic and terrible narcissist abuser we were while it was all fucking resentment bullshit, and they are giving us the exact same story about their ex, while the poor dude has tried anything he could to save his family.

First I'm sorry that OP's being so downvoted because he's negative...which doens't mean he's wrong ? Depends of the age. I 'm 40+, I don't drink alcohol so I don't socialize around beers, and indeed I only met one guy and got connected because we were the 2 divorced dads at the park.

I see those posts as men trying to cope with the loss, and a bit pathetic to be honest. to You can have time and money while being married, come on... Your choice to put boundaries. Also if you do value this over family and time with your kids... Anyway, enjoy your beers. Also don't make it like the dating game is not an absolute shitshow. Like 95% of the men you're not the one choosing anything but the ugly match.

Family unit is a treasure, it's important for the kids. You may both be unhappy but none of you are responsible for make you happy. Don't stay for the kids, but make it work for the family. Start by enjoying life by yourself, it would benefit to the relationship.

Hey, I'm here too. I'm 16months post. Working out, therapy (all before and after), walks, even seeing someone really nice...but the struggle is still there. Got a daughter 50/50, and I'm still completely crushed about the whole stuff. I endure life.

I'm going to give you another perspective. I'm 40+. What the fuck do people are chasing nowdays. I've checked dating. It's fucking horrible. It's a game. Some people may like that game, I don't. I want depth as you mentionned it. I want companionship, loyalty. What can you expect from someone on Tinder ? That's ridiculous. Companionship feels SO GOOD, i'm craving for this, not to have a cringe 2 hours date. Also people DO CHANGE. I used to be an asshole 15y ago, then I flipped when she got pregn…

I'm sitting right next to my daughter, she's eating dinner half seated on me while watching a muppet. She's 5. I skipped the afternoon to take her to her dance lesson, then we went to pick her best friend. We went to a carousel and in the park. In a few minutes I'll tell her it's time to go to bed, she will beg for 5 more minutes, I'll say yes, then bed time story. I'll probably cry after that. It's been 7 months + since her mother left and I only have her 50/50. I'm a broken man. But sometimes …

I'm 50/50. There is a bag for switching every week through school. There are only 3-4 important items. The rest my daughter have them in both places. If she forgets something I'm dealing with it. I don't need to guess anything, she's not with me for a week and her mother wants to be in control during that time so let it be. On the other hand I don't feel the need to answer to "it's cold, you should wash her nose when you get her" while I've been the one using a million time a nasal aspirator sin…

I feel this in every way. Keep fighting! Stop shaming yourself. A lot of men including myself are in this process. My ex did the same. I moved her out after she shattered our family, you'll learn from that, you'll stand your ground. There's always gonna be someone here to talk to you, hold on mate.

I felt that repulsion as well. Of course it has to be because of me. It broke me, before and after she finally left me. Take care of yourself, if you can avoid to fall in the same hole. Best.

My mother left when I was less than 1, my father got custody. Part of me was/thought feeling ok with not having both of my parents because from a rational stand point I'd say that I cannot really miss what I never had. But in my social life there were really just a few kids from divorce so I could see how all my friends families were working just way more "smoothly" on so many occasions. It's not like they have to manage things and times you have to manage with one parent and the other, and they…

I'm 6 months past it, 12y relationship. Of course her decision, her reasons. Life was hard on her, I'm sad she changed to what she is. Selfish, mean, at least toward me. I had my flaws, I get it now, been working on it prior to the divorce anyway. My daughter turned 5 when she left. It was too soon for me, so much. We do 50/50. Like you I'm the one she was calling in the middle of the night and all. I'm heartbroken about it, fighting depression as hard as I can. I'm still the dad I was, nothing …

My parents lied to me a lot about what happen in my childhood, because they thought in a really twisted way it will be better for me to not know everything, even if it didn't make sense. Facing post divorce depression I'm know chasing the many reasons of trauma I have to sort out the mess I am. It feels weird at 40+ to finally have the courage to ask to them what happened for real. It's an absolute shitty setting. It make me sick how it can be advocate as something positive (I hear you about better to have separate happier parents than miserable together blabla).

She left me so I had no choice. My daughter is 5. It's young, it's really not easy and I'm a strong advocate of the make it work for the kids. Also at some point people fail to embrace the companionship phase of long term relationships.

I'm 4 months in. It's a constant struggle, like I'm really trying to keep at least my mouth out of the water to try to breath while moving my legs and arms. I already have been depressed in my life before but it's another level right now. I have to admit I'm contemplating suicide. Don't feel like I'm going to do it tho. I'm crying all the fucking time. I'm sorry you're being downvoted. I'm really starting to considered that it is what happened in my couple. Guyz, do consider this comment, it is valuable. That being said, it doesn't mean there is not a different perspective on the other side. Like for me, i've begged, pleaded and cried as well, and I'm crushed because I never stop to love her and I'd have done anything to make it work. She checked out, this was her decision, nothing I could have done after that. The "it was too late" is really …

So she may not be ok with that in the end. I've been in that situation, house chores and mental load. She back fire to me being abusive and controlling - for me I was just doing the things that needed to be done by one of us, that she was never proactive with. You have all the concerns identified, address them one way or another. If no kids I'd say to consider the possibility to leave, have a break. But really I wish to any family to work as hard as possible to fix things. The dynamic with kids …

You seem to have resentment, my guess is that all you're writing here has already been discussed (several time) between the 2 of you ? Aside from the mental load and the house chores, for me when the person that's supposed to love you is getting unable to have compassion for your physical and mental health is not a good sign.

Plz check my comment and OP entirely. It's not just about sex. Its also about just being romantic (kissing and hugs are not directly related to sex). That being said, it is also to be considered that she could be asexual and aromantic, but what about the rest of the relationship ?
/r/Divorce_Men27/11/21 03:59 PM

You do realize that most of the comment are personal stories ? You cannot imagine how I'd wish I didn't had to experience that.

I'm going to add the very same comment as everyone here. It's all about you. The next guy she will want to be hug, kiss, kuddle, sex, like "omg I thought I would never blablabla" Aside from the intimacy, are you the one she's looking forward to see ? Send few messages when she's away ? Do you feel like she misses you ? Are you that guy she's spending quality time when the kids are in bed, have jokes, laugh, sharing hobbies, discussions (non technical stuff)s ? I'm sure not. It's hard to face it …

we are good together in other areas...we co-parent well, have the same beliefs, and share great friends That's very important to considered. I focused a lot on the lack of intimacy, not sure it was worth the pain I'm having right now.

The fact that she's seeing someone is enough. Let's be realistic, she's living her life, and she's not having all those moments with that specific guy just because of you. I'm telling you this with compassion, I'm in hell as well, waiting to get that punch as well.

AHAHA thank you internet, are you me ? Go through my feed if it helps. We need to get over the relationship, BUT ALSO get over the blame and accusations, get back some self esteem. I'm struggling a lot.

It's your life, and we're all living different situations with different people, yet it does sound very similar. I'm beyond crushed and sad, I feel I'm in a very deep depression phase. But I'd NEVER consider fix anything with her. She has 0 compassion. Since we've been seperated She took EVERY SINGLE opportunity to blame me and tell me what a bad person I am and how good she was and this is why she's not sad (doesn't make any sense but whatev). She has spend months to tell me what a psychopath I…

You can count me as well. But no, she had to leave because she didn't felt appreciate nor valued. I've setup an iPad this week for my 5 y old daughter with Google Duo and 2 contact (Mom and Dad). I think the model is a basic one from 2019.Apple and Google does it pretty well, easy to use, full parental control over usage. She's autonomous if she wans to call one of us, and the other way around. (which is for the best).

12 years with my ex, we didn't really had a family life without in laws, always around on a daily basis. One week we're all in vacation together, everyone saying how happy they are about all of us being there, spending actually most of my time talking with them my ex being the coldest ever. Well the next she's leaving and I'm gone from their lives. How great.

You deserve more awards than down votes. I've been put into this, went into that whole trendy narcissist toxico blaming myself as well.
