Hate fake people: I have no social skills and I'm a bitter incel, so I think people being nice is them being fake and looking to use me, because that's the only reason I am nice to people.

I think it's more important to follow your instincts than to come across as classy. I believe in responding to the effort the ex puts in as long as they are not inconveniencing you. They ignore you, you ignore them. They say hello, you say hello back. They want to catch up, you say you're busy maybe some other time. They say they miss you, you say cool and walk away. I think that's enough examples for now.

I laughed so hard at this! This is true though. All men benefit from low standards, whether they are LVM or HVM.

Thank you so much! This needs to be more visible. Excellent post, and I've saved it so I can re-read it.

Thank you for writing this post. Discovering FDS has honestly changed my life. I've read a lot of self-help books but FDS has helped me reevaluate how I go about my life. I never realised how much crap I was putting up with, from friends, family and even literal strangers on a daily basis. Now, I feel confident in myself. I stand up for what I believe in. I have come to recognise the subtle manipulations people employ and know how to respond to that. This sub is not just about dating, it's about…

I am a huge Betty White fan, but I haven't really looked too much into her to classify her as anything.

I feel the same way about relationships, but I think this sub is an excellent resource nonetheless. I'm currently working towards my career goals, and I'm not looking for anything serious right now, but this sub made me re-evaluate my approach to casual relationships. I'm no longer interested in casual sex, because of the risks. I figured my version of casual is someone or a bunch of someones providing me with emotional support and decent conversation, so that is what I do. It's no longer about m…

Not to step on anyone's toes, but hadn't there been posts that suggested that we should not be using FDS terminology/phrases outside of this forum? It makes it easier for LVMs to look up this place. Edit: my apologies. Looks like it's a pretty popular phrase, and used extensively outside of FDS.

YouTube has been recommending SATC clips, and seriously, i can't believe I used to be a fan of this show. It's fun, but all four of them are such terrible role models. I think Carrie is the worst of the lot.

I'm someone who is in academia, and I wouldn't trust the men in it. A lot of them grew up awkward and isolated, and being surrounded by teenage girls crushing on them makes them egotistic and more prone to lying and cheating. They are excellent at masking their LVness, because they are intelligent, articulate and well-read. Just a heads up to my sisters here.

I think they are trying to test your boundaries, and see how you respond to an order. If you comply, they'll try to up their demands. I think it's a common red pill tactic (not sure). Best thing to do would be to ignore. I personally don't feel pressured to respond, so I let them be without unmatching them.

Thank you for all the effort you have put in! Your online dating post made me realize that I'm not even considering the mindset of the men who are on there. It was an eye-opener.

This is an excellent post. To my FDS sisters and OP, who are familiar with trp- would you consider making a series out of this?

Counter with "receiving gifts". And follow up with how much your exes spoiled you. Then drop the fuckboy, hopefully after he has paid for your dinner and cab.

If I were you, I'd be mentally preparing myself to get out of the relationship. That would require thinking about how to separate from this person, especially if you have joint assets. I would recommend getting proper legal advice regarding the division of the house. The truly difficult part would be breaking up with the guy. You need to really prepare yourself for what will happen when you do. Here are a few of the scenarios: 1) You both sit down, have an adult conversation about how you want d…

No. There is no such thing as laziness. Even the laziest of people will put in the effort if it is something that is important to them.

That's an interesting dynamic, but personally, I find anxious people extremely draining. I tend to get along best with fearful avoidant people. I feel like I can be open and affectionate around them, without any "strings attached" (I don't know how else to describe it).

Attachment theory can provide so much insight into why you're attracting who you're attracting. I'm in a different boat though. I am dismissive avoidant, and I have the tendency to attract the anxious type. Anxious men are simply on another level, extremely demanding, whiney, need constant attention, and throw toddler level tantrums. I don't know how to stop attracting the type. I tend to cut and run, but I want to stop attracting them. Any tips or helpful suggestions?
