Hmm, probably more in the more minor forms.

It's 3-6% of the people who are sociopaths and I would say it's 3x who have these traits in any significant degree

"that's how the abuser was raised to be". It just comes naturally even if it doesn't work often (with people who are more secure).

It sounds like you're living in some barbarian land! Actually I've heard this is the case in many Northeastern cities in America as well. In Texas, kids would get fined heavily and suspended if they got into fights, so very rarely did people ever do so. Bullying wasn't a huge problem.

It's semi-consciously done, as that's the basic psychology of power, control and abuse, and that's how the abuser was raised to be. If you make your partner insecure, they're less likely to leave, so the thinking goes. You just have to be very subtle about making them insecure.

you destroy their confidence, self-esteem and energy levels, isolate them from support, tell them that they're crazy/paranoid, that nobody would ever want them and turn them into pathetic doormats that become yes-(wo)men. So they're less likely to leave because they have no more options. The problem when women do this on men, is that their men become too pathetic, and the women end up cheating/leaving them. Still, it's a bad place to be for a guy because there is basically zero social support, a…

Nope. I'm over 30. I wouldn't date someone older than 30. Someone in my age range that was roughly in my age range and 8+ years younger, except female with long hair and similar fitness? Hell yes.

This is like dating rules for aspies. Except everyone has their own rules. No wonder the dating 'market' is such a complete disaster.

I'm a bit risk averse to friend groups, and I've always internalized it as a sort of "one shot rule". If you go for a girl, date her, and it ends up badly, there's a chance your friend group might not be there at the end of it. Or at the very least some of your deeply guarded secrets will start being revealed to the other girls in your group, thus hurting your chances with them. I would simply not screw up a relationship with someone I would otherwise run into on a regular basis. This is exactly…

Great observation! Also, of how to be passive aggressive without people noticing.

It's built into everything. Avoid sugar? Or even the far worse seed oils? You also have to avoid nearly all restaurants. All bread. All pre-made foods. All of your co-workers offering you food, or inviting you to places where non-'pure' food is available. Basically, to live your 'personal responsibility' lifestyle, you have to live the equivalent life of a monk or cult member. And that's not even getting into the fact that we live a car-and-sedentary lifestyle with little to no walkability and o…

If it's a shitty competition, who would want to? The foreign bride option is not only the best one that men have, it also seems to be the one that girls are least happy about.

But why is this the case? The first one may end up being a serial monogamist with long-term commitment issues. The other is one who has never had the scars of an abusive relationship or "falling inlove", with expectations of past partners projected into future ones. I think I'll take the second.

I realize in retrospect that my old "ranking" system was skewed against the extremes. Thus very few people above 8 or below 3. If they were above 8 that would be the equivalent of God-tier. Now I try to be a little bit more in the percentages. But it's hard too sometimes in America, since the average is skewed well below the international average thanks to obesity/bad lifestyles/poor appearance choices (clothes, tattoos, piercings, indie/hipster glasses). So in America, there's really only like …

I do want to edit this slightly. Most people often seem good, but when push comes to shove, it's more about their social image rather than their fundamental personal character. And those with more sinister motives (red and blue pill alike) will seem much more reasonable in person than the views they may occasionally spout here, or some TRP forum or FDS. Yes, there is a self-selection effect here and other subgroups online, no doubt. On the other hand, look at a forum like econjobrumors which i…
