She said she wants 50 across the board. That includes programmers. I think this is more of a PR stunt as she goes on to talk about the lack of women graduating from comp Sci and is basically making a disclaimer that she won't be able to because of the talent pool, not her lack of intention.

All good points. I'm doing competitive Muay Thai and have been training for the last six months. One thing to note however is that there is a trade off when you compare weight lifting to combat sports. Weight lifters can increase their muscle mass with no bearing on their functional performance. What I'm getting at is that typically weightlifting physique trends to have higher SMV. In combat sports carrying all that muscle can inhibit performance. I found that out when I couldn't v guard on day …

Fair enough. I agree with your mass culture statement. By saying red pill I meant "veering closer to the truth rather what makes people feel good". It was used as more of an analogy.

Could you elaborate? I would argue that whoever is saying this would be selectively cherry picking certain elements which are just facts given the time period: women entering the workplace, increased divorce/hypergamy etc. What the show is not doing is being a nostalgic, everything-is-perfect period piece. It clearly shows the repercussions of what the social change meant for all parties...good and bad. I would say that is pretty red pill.
