I wouldn't object to a nursing class that was for men only, if that is what was needed to encourage entry into the profession for males. The fact is though the reason that 80% of programmers are men is not the same as the reason 90% of nurses are female. Nursing is still thought of as a feminine profession which simply turns men off of it. In fact, of men who become nurses they actually get paid more and are more likely to occupy senior positions. saw in this /r/all/. this makes a lot of sense imo, computer science is absolutely dominated by men and i can see that being a pretty huge barrier to entry for women who think they might be interested in the field. if you honestly think this is sexist/wrong, go survey your local universities CS department and see what the gender split is. talk to both genders about their experiences in the field.
