I sometimes think that some men just don't think attraction is ever truly mutual because women don't feel it in the same way as they do. So if all women are just in relationships for things like protection and/or money, then sooner or later, if they keep on trying, an attractive woman will 'do them a favour' and go out with a less attractive man.
