Okay, reasonable explanations, just disagree with the last one. Just because women have wider selection of people to sleep with doesn't mean they have a wider selection of suitable partners that are willing to settle down with them, suitable partner being: someone that is financially stable, equally shares household and childcare responsibilities (if you live together and both work), someone that you're physically attracted to, and someone that is not abusive (mentally, physically or sexually), …

This is certainly good advice in order to not get taken advantage of, but why do so many men blame the women for getting tricked or lied to by someone?

What made you read what I wrote and feel the need to respond with "women bad too" when I wasn't even making a blanket statement about men?

One of the biggest red flags on dating sites for me was seeing a guy that had a list of all the things he DIDNT want. Sometimes they wouldn’t even have anything written about their own personality, just a list of all their “standards.”

Oh I agree, I just didn't think this was a secret. Men that objectify women (a lot if not most of them) would 100% never get married or enter into committed relationships with women if it wasn't required for frequent sex, and occasionally to ensure their property (aka romantic partner) doesn't have sex with other men. When I say these men are misogynists', I literally mean they hate women. They do not like them. They would keep them locked up glory hole dungeons if they could get away with it. T…

Thinking women are “soiled” has nothing to do with people literally thinking the penis made them gross. It’s just a way of oppressing and humiliating women that’s ingrained in many cultures, with varying levels of severity. Some cultures criminally punish female promiscuity while some cultures it may take form by boys calling a girl a slut in middle school because they found out she gave a guy a handjob, resulting in the girl losing possible romantic partners and platonic female friendships. The…

Sex is not the most important and ultimate goal for most women. This is so incredibly horribly thought out. You realize how many men post in this sub about how low they think of women with high “body counts”? So even if a woman did live out all of her wildest fantasies, she’s going to face judgement and discrimination directly related to it.

No.... are you referring to Leo thing? It's disgusting because he dumps people once they enter their mid twenties as if they are garbage to him after that point. And it clearly doesn't have anything to do with him thinking they are "breedable."

People can date whoever they want. I personally think when it goes in either direction, the younger and more attractive person is using the older person for some kind of financial stability. I think these kind of relationships often end up being financially abusive via the older person controlling every aspect of the younger persons life. I also think there's a huge risk of emotional abuse by the younger person, by means of cheating or being mean because they are not sexually attracted to their …

Both genders can end up with a string of failed relationships for a variety of reasons. One might be that they suffer from antisocial or borderline personality, or have another social difficulty. Or, it could be that they are empathetic and vulnerable, and abusive people target them. Either situation is possible for people of both genders. I’m assuming you wrote this because you’re annoyed with women who blame all their failed relationships on abusive men. Sometimes, it literally is because all …

Although I do think a startling number of them lack empathy, I clearly do not believe that about all men, given that I literally said that in the comment you just replied to. You just chose to ignore that part. And on the contrary, I think the men getting upset about friend zones do indeed have feelings, but a lot of the feelings consist of anger. When it comes to the guys who repeatedly sex zone girls, yeah I’ll admit I think they have some emotional screws loose. But as I already said, there a…

Who the fuck said these men are fixing toilets and mowing the lawns?!?! That counts as chores my dude and I did most of the “boy stuff” too, which is very a very common situation. Eta: I had to add some more because I cannot BELIEVE that people actually think women are complaining about doing laundry and sweeping while their man is out doing an equal amount of chores, why would we be complaining then???? Do you literally think women are that dumb? Or do you think we’re all just lying and manipul…

Are you honestly insinuating that some people who complain about being in the “friend zone” would want to date the girl and not sleep with her? Because if so, you are fooling yourself. A lot of times they make it sound that way, but just like the guys who put girls in the “sex zone”, what they say isn’t always true. Don’t get me wrong, there are men that are great, that truly value and love women. These men do not complain about friend zones, and they do not put people in sex-zones.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/22 05:15 PM

Yeah, he’s upset because that’s all he wanted. You can think what you want but the “friend zone” is no one’s fault but the people who find themselves stuck in it. No one owes anyone else sex, and 99% of the time she was not leading him on, he’s just convinced all women are manipulative, evil sex machines.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/22 05:08 PM

That’s the thing, he doesn’t! He just wants to have sex with her, or he wouldn’t be so upset about not getting it. It would not be a big enough fucking deal to wine about online if he was okay with just a friendship.

I wouldn’t know until I live with them. I’ve lived with 2 men before, both times they expected the house become magically clean and threw tantrums when they didn’t get their ways. This is a typical scenario I see other women complain about as well. I’m sure they’re are a good amount of men that understand what being an equal partner means, and those are the ones worth waiting for.

I often see this exaggerated amount of how much money it takes to “comfortably” live on your own, although this is the first time I’ve seen it used for this purpose. Most people would rather give up some luxuries than marry or live with someone that doesn’t make them happy. Daycare is expensive but no where near 50k. The amounts you are describing are what it costs to live an upper class lifestyle, which is worth nothing if you’re sharing it with someone you’re not sexually attracted to. This is…

You think everything a woman does is an attempt to use and manipulate men. It's not "shit-testing", she's probably just pissed off. Maybe she's an asshole, maybe you're being an asshole and she's reacting to it. Who knows. I can't believe people think this way. It's gross.

"Friend zoned" is a guy getting upset because his platonic friend doesn't want to have sex with him. Alot of the time, all of his "friendship feelings" are completely nonexistent, and he is attempting to use niceness to manipulate someone into sex. "Sex zoned" is a woman getting upset because a man manipulated her into thinking he had real emotions and intentions of commitment, when in reality he just wanted to use her for sex. Both scenarios involve men lying to and manipulating women in order …

This viewpoint is rarely held against financially stable women that choose to become single mothers via sperm donor or adoption. It’s typically solely aimed at female parents that did not choose to end up in that situation. While single fathers are praised, for the exact same situation. Single mothers are not praised, they are bullied and degraded by people like you.

Idk, sometimes maybe they are actually super ugly, which will make dating harder. However, there are plenty of mediocre looking guys with beautiful women. Honestly, I see that combination much more than the other way around. How do they pull this off? Because they work on their personalities, their careers, their bodies & health, etc. However, not everyone has it in them to be super successful. I doubt this post is legitimate, but in my experience this is not the case. I will agree that men might take break ups harder. But when it comes to sex outside of a committed relationship, a lot of times women are already somewhat emotionally attached before the sex even happens. So, it’s not the sex that “attaches” us. The sex occurred because we wanted to extend the connection we already felt, and it’s disappointing when a guy walks away because the only goal he had was the sex.

That's the thing, why do women have to stop having sex with anyone who isn't facebook official? Why can't men just stop lying about what they want? (yeah it can happen the other way around too but you get it, for the sake of the post)

I was not attempting to participate in "hook-up" culture. Almost every man I slept with lied to me or mislead me into thinking he wanted something more serious than he did, with the exception of the 6 people I ended up dating long term. There were a few occasions where after our initial encounter I ended things, but it was much more common the other way around.

No, what? I don't think the post or comment has to do with objectification. This is just an argument I primarily hear from unattractive or otherwise unappealing men that are upset they can't sleep with women "in their league" because of "unrealistic standards."

"Rules" is a weird way to put it. If I'm sexually attracted to someone, then I want to sleep with them, so I probably don't care if they touch my lower back or hit on me. The problem is, if you are the man in this situation, you have no way of knowing this unless we develop some kind of rapport. It's best to not make assumptions and wait for explicit consent before saying or doing something sexual or romantic with someone. Obviously, I have a different level of physical comfort with someone I wa…

Liking masculine, strong men has nothing to do with niceness. I pretty much only date athletic men, and they are all perfectly nice. If a man isn’t getting any of his advances reciprocated, it is NOT because he is “too nice.” It’s probably because he’s actually an asshole, or has issues when it comes to physical appearance.

I like that women are so humble, they are so gracious when it comes to kindness, and often brush off rudeness. I like how they are often caregivers at heart. I like that men are so strong, physically and emotionally. I like how they often have a very sweet, simple, and caring heart inside of a tough exterior. I also like their penises.

Idk... I feel like straight men appreciate sexual attention from women much lower than 8s and 9s. Maybe it’s biological, but men just seem to be more eager to have sex with multiple partners, verses straight women who can be extremely sexual, but probably stick to 1 or 2 sexual attractions at a time.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/10/18 12:55 AM

Idk. I guess it depends on the guy? I’m currently having an issue getting my crush to pay as much attention to me as I’d like. Honestly, I don’t witness that much desperation. Guys being nice and genuinely trying? Sure. I think it’s probably gotten better over time. Everyone is become more respectful of boundaries and rejection.

In regards to paying for dates, I’m a woman and my entire life it was dependent on how much money we made. We’re both broke college students? Great, let’s split. You’re a pilot and I’m a receptionist/still a broke college student? Great, you’re paying.

I always ended up in horribly abusive relationships. I don't really know why, all I can think is that I watched how my dad treated my mom and I growing up, and it took me a while to learn what healthy relationships are actually like. Growing up, I was told by my parents that their relationship was a great one, a fairy-tale romance. It wasn't like one of those households where everyone knows things are fucked up. It took me a long time to learn that my dad was mean.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/09/18 07:12 PM

I'm a single mom, kind of by choice. If I was willing to bug the hell out of my ex, he'd probably be more involved in our daughters life. But honestly, I think she's much better off with just me, since he's a terrible human being in every sense. My parents have been married for over 20 years and hate each other. During my teen years and early 20's, I had all the stereotypical "daddy-issue" behaviors, which really shows what a lacking father he was.

I’m not giving a pass to anyone. Violence is bad, especially and kind of domestic violence. Just stating the obvious, which is that there is a difference in women being violent, and men being violent (against the opposite genders) due to simple, biological reasons.

feminism wants equality for men and women alike. RP’s just pick outlandish examples of feminist extremists as their proof that the movement is sexist against men. Feminism is about equality in treatment.

No. If you read through my comments you would find that I give an example of a double standard that favors men, that I understand and accept.

Sure! Again, slapping is not as bad as beating or pulling a deadly weapon on someone. The gender comes into play when you start talking fights on a fairly level playing field (i.e. no weapons)
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/18 08:40 PM
5

I guess we are just going to disagree, I’ve clearly stated my opinion multiple times in many different ways. It sucks that men get harsher judgement for violence, but they also get to be stronger, which I’m sure is pretty cool. Can’t have your cake and eat it to.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/18 08:28 PM

It depends on the situation. In the situation you described, obviously a woman slapping a man isn't as serious as a man beating a woman. No one slapping anyone is anywhere near as serious as a beating. The extent of the DV and the results are what the person should be prosecuted for. If a woman beats up a man and causes a broken arm and a black eye, then she should get the same sentence (for the sake of conversation we'll say 6 months in prison.) If a man beats up a woman and gives her a broken …

Any kind of DV is important. But usually, female DV simply isn't as dangerous. There are natural, biological reasons for this. I'm just stating a fact, answering the OP and explaining why the double standard exists. With that being said, I don't think it's okay to hit guys.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/18 08:12 PM

The double standard regarding DV, is that it's worse for a man to hit or beat a woman, than it is for a woman to hit or beat a man (generally.)

What are you so angry about? I've pointed out multiple times that I agree it's bad for anyone to hit anyone. It's almost like you're upset because you can't hit women without everyone thinking you're an asshole. --Sex is sex, there's no logical reason that women should be shamed for it (you know, unlike the logical reason of why its more dangerous for men to hit women, thus making the act worse). .... What you just said was appalling. I literally cannot understand how you don't understand, a difference in physicality absolutely makes a difference, and although causes a double standard, it's a logical one. It's simply more dangerous for a man to beat a woman. It's unfortunate that men suffering legitimate physical abuse aren't taken as seriously as they should be, but there is still a difference. There is a reason the double standard exists, and it's not to bully men. Again, it's logical.

-In no situation should anyone be hitting anyone. I agree that there is too much "throwing stuff" depicted on television, which risks normalizing the behavior. -In regards to "women are stronger that people here want to admit", I mean, maybe? I think some men get the impression that women are pretending to be weaker than they are, when in reality, I am actually MUCH weaker than most men. I'm not just pretending because I don't want to lift stuff. -And I don't know about others, but as a woman, I…
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/18 06:56 PM

Of course that happens, but I figured for the sake of the conversation, we should focus on the difference in physicality that causes the different reactions. Sure, a woman can throw something at a man, which is absolutely more dangerous than hitting. I don't think anyone is "unwilling to admit" that women can use projectiles or weapons, it's just kind of silly to point that out when men can do the same thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/18 06:34 PM

Okay, I have witnessed women hitting their boyfriends, out of anger. In most of those situations, the man is able to stop the woman by restraining her, and/or defend himself very efficiently. In situations where a man loses his temper and begins hitting his girlfriend out of anger, generally, the woman cannot restrain or stop him. Let's use guns as an example, replacing the action of hitting. Let's say there's an issue of women going around shooting men with B-B guns. While there's also an issue…

My parents had me when my mom was in late 30's and dad was mid 40s. I didn't notice anything strange about my childhood, but now I'm 23 and my brother is 21, and our parents are old. They forget things, and they are always in and out of the hospital or at the doctors office. I think they both wish they could have had us younger. Agreed, I was refuting the statement I was replying too. In most cases “we text all day” does in fact mean, both parties are initiating. It’s a bit cynical to just assume that a woman who says this, is delusional and probably missing obvious red flags.

In a romantic relationship, emotional and sexual fulfillment are both very important. The level at which each is important, probably varies between couples and individuals. With that being said, caring deeply about sex is not exclusive to men, and caring deeply about emotional fulfillment is not exclusive to women. I like the idea of the 5 love languages, and loving your partner in the way that they like to be shown love. Cheating, emotionally or physically, is never justified. Everyone involved…

In my personal situations, the guys lie. The start off acting like they want something serious, and we "talk" for around a 2-3 months. It's usually around that point that I start getting nervous, and bring up relationship status. It's then that it becomes clear.

Eh, I was 18 in 2012 and managed to have a child, move out at 19 and have held down a job ever since. I personally haven't felt like a child since I was a young teenager. I had a lot of access to money, married parents that hated each other and completely disagreed on parenting and life in general, and a home full of mental issues including alcoholism and bipolar.
