Thank you for this post. I'm a woman and frequent this sub for my own interests (not to flame in other words). I find men find it tricky to escalate even on Tinder despite my profile explicitly saying I'm there for casual sex. Spread the word! And good job wing maning your friend I hope she has more luck in the future.

(Woman here) no no no not in this instance, definitely he should let her talk until she stops and then ask if theres anything he can do. Dishes are a different ball park to emotions. Especially with a single mum deciding whether to have a guy in her life or not.

I personally think movies are a big no no. There's no talking, no looking into each others' eyes, no game and as such all kino just seems plain creepy to me. Have you thought of going on more interactive dates? You clearly have no problem with initiating kino, and a k close after a date isnt much to get overly excited about. Being a girl I know Ive kissed enough guys I find creepy to make the date end faster. I genuinely get the impression that if you tried a date involving conversation and ligh…

Im female and 28, I reckon arcades are great venues, games like DDR can assist with kino escalation because youre pooped at the end of the game, easy to touch or hold the person youre with as like, an affirmation of the mutual exhaustion without it seeming bizarre. also arcades promote nostalgia and its easy to learn a lot about the person youre with. and yes, air hockey is awesome. Competitiveness can easily be turned into flirting. Ignore this guy I think youve done really well. Actually Ill a…

These are my favourite posts on this sub. The people who return soon after having posted with questions describing their success. Good work. And congratulations on using the information you learned!

Haha no. His bedroom was facing the road and he hadnt closed his curtain. It was a split second viewing as I ran past because I couldn't contain my laughter.

I once saw my roommate trying to get it going with a girl (he was pretty much naked and on top looking at her) and she was texting and didnt seem to notice him. Even smoking doesnt have a barrier like that!

Not sure what the general seddit feeling on this will be, but here's mine. Im female and have lurked this sub for about 2 years. Your FWB will take a blow to her ego, whether she's keen on you or not. It's just one of those things that would happen to anyone regardless of gender in her situation. No need to bring up the whole "no girlfriends" mantra youve been spouting for weeks, if she wants to discuss that then let her bring it up. Remind her of how cool she's been and that you've had a great …

I attended a local pool competition weekly. I made friends with the people there around my age by talking to them while playing.

Sometimes I regret the username haha. It stems from a teenage me wishing my personality could be "tied down" as opposed to me being "tied up". Quite possibly, as I said she could have been holding onto feelings for a long time (op did mention they used to have a thing for one another). If we don't hear of this HB8.5 again we can assume that she didn't though! (I love update posts)

My bad! Tone is lost in written word sometimes!

I had implied that when I said "or somehow knows you well enough to realise that eventually, OP was a 'sure thing'", but it might not have been clear. But you're certainly right.

(As a girl myself) I can't agree with this more. I'm actually sort of surprised OP still managed to get her in the end, unless she has really been waiting for this for a very long time or somehow knows you well enough to realise that eventually, OP was a 'sure thing'. If its the former I wouldn't be surprised if we have an update from OP sooner rather than later.

I'm sorry I'm really not this sort of person but it's rapport, its a french borrowed word, not repore. You make a good point though, landing a message that assumed rapport when there was none would receive a no-reply easily.

Im female and this was the first subreddit I subscribed to nearly 2 years ago. Its a hub for sharing tips on gaining confidence, feeling better about yourself and looking after yourself. I find it a million times more supportive and free to exchange ideas than places like say, /r/loseit. Sorry to say I will not be leaving.

Girls opinion here- you're right. Our folks say the generic "you look pretty/beautiful" to us. Try focusing on something, if they're fit, you're so toned! Do you work out? This sort of compliment is hard to pull off without seeming a bit creepy, so make sure you can always follow it up with something else complimentary, like if you hit on a girl who is a bit overweight, don't comment on her body because she'll rebut with something like "yeah I hide weigh well but I'm actually xxxlbs. And you jus…

As a girl (I don't normally comment but I've lurked forever) I can give you this for advice (if you try it give me feedback!) Look her in the eyes, look away a bit "embarrassed", tuck her hair behind her ear, eye contact for half a second longer and go for it. Seriously most of us are just suckers for a kiss.

I'm your friendly neighbourhood female lurker, I don't normally comment ever ever, fantastic work! You've got this! I'd love an update, have you guys gone on a date yet? Did you consider offering her advice for workouts before asking for the number (or was that clearly unnecessary?)

The reputation seems to stem (from what I know) a "don't use women as objects" idea. I know this subreddit doesn't subscribe to that notion but that's what all the arguments about it I've had seem to stem back to. That and that people should improve themselves rather than pretending to be something they're not. The thing is, I don't see how there's a problem in faking it til you make it. A lot of social anxiety is exacerbated by not facing the problem, which here is mostly being shy around women…

When I have been out picking up girls, it's really easy to kino even straight girls. They love the attention and lap it up. I've even managed to take home a straight "I will never kiss another chick that's gross" girl. So yeah kino between girls is easy, guy on guy might be a bit weird. Also that above statement is one of the reasons I find it tricky to befriend other girls, I feel like I'm hitting on them all the time.

Hahah I like your response. It's not often I do find women who have a similar sense of humour to me, but it's easy for me to find guys who do. I have plenty of guy friends but only a scraping of girl friends and it sucks, because my guy friends end up getting girl friends who get mad when they hang out with me etc. But the thing I like about your comment is it's made me realise I may need to try harder to tailor conversation/witty remarks to things I know other girls would enjoy and supress thos…

I'm glad you said that. I mainly joined as I find it hard to make other female friends. I get nervous and say weird things around other girls (I'm straight, for the most part anyway!) and feel like I'm creeping them out when I do anything like that. I suppose if I go about thinking that interaction like that is normal, maybe it would seem less creepy?

I'm 27 f and lurked here for a little more than a year. No jokes, this was the first subreddit I subscribed to. Not for any in depth analysis of everyone here, simply because it is a great motivational tool. Everything (maybe bar kino) can be related back to how to make friends too. I honestly have no idea why this place has such a bad rap. Anyway good to see another lurker chick.

Wow thank you. You've opened my eyes a lot on how I view relationships in general, and this puts it all in a perspective that is just a whole lot healthier and saner... I'm going to bookmark your comment when I get home cuz lord knows I'm going to need reminding sometimes.

In Australia it's actually 16 is legal age if the other partner is 18 or younger. If one of the two is over 18 then the other of the two needs to be minimum 18. So your stance is fair anyway, but just fyi.

Yay I'm not the only one here! But seriously I've lurked for months because I find it so hard to talk to girls, even though I am one. I go through similar anxiety that any male SAP would when I have to speak to a girl I'm not acquainted with. Although I'm not looking to f-close or anything of the sort, the advice is applicable to creating friendships too.

Woman here; I am not the majority of people I know. I have never been with anybody because of their appearance. I don't find appearance appealing. I find people attractive because of personality and intelligence. As I mentioned, I am not the majority. All women I have ever been friends with have all only seemed focused on appearance until they have experienced affection for somebody. But yet, they still choose mates initially from appearance. Though, now I'm 26 most girls I know are married or t…

Female here- tall girls hate being tall, super short girls hate being short. The ideal height for women I think would be 5"3-5"4. I'm 5"7 and love it, I go for guys my height or slightly (1-2 inches) taller or shorter. I'm not keen on tall guys, I hate having to wear heels and stand on tip toes to kiss someone. Also, sex is a lot more fun/interesting with someone of similar height.
