Well everyone is different, I was lucky cause it turned out he really likes flowers. You are self-reflecting which is okay since I asked for everyone's opinion but turns out there's a split group in here of some men liking flowers and others finding them useless and a waste of money. And honestly, if he bought me a lug wrench I would laugh like there's no tomorrow and he would too. Because he already knows I'm not a "handyman" at all xD

I appreciate all feedback and opinions and you guys made me think about it. So I asked and he said he loves flowers and what different flowers symbolize and that it meant a lot to him. So I think it differs from guy to guy, and you line up different things which I do understand but I think it's not always about doing what someone likes the most but surprising them when they expect it the least. I take my bf out for steaks all the time, for example, so it wouldn't be that special.

Thanks for that! I don't know much about flowers but I'll go for the lilies next time :P

Hahahaha I would've laughed if he did so but honestly, I came home and his face lit up. Maybe it was the gesture more than the flowers idk but he was happy so I'm happy. But you may have a point shrug

What is wrong with women nowadays? How stupid are people?

That's a shame. Being a woman is quite amazing and I wouldn't try to be anything else other than what I am. I think being different is what makes us unique in our own way, just like men are unique in their way.

Lol, you do realize I am a woman right? You sound like the male version of a feminist... "Men are amazing, women suck bla bla". There needs to be a balance. One or the other doesn't work. So I have to disagree with you when you say power is the only skill that really matters, and women do actually acquire a different kind of power than men.

Well, I guess you can look at it that way. But in my opinion, there's so much more to this world than the so-called "power" everyone is longing for.

Honestly, I do not see what the big issue is. Facts are facts, and if men are more likely to pursue computer science than women, so what? It does not mean that women cannot be interested in computer science, and are not allowed to pursue their interest if it is so. I just do not think women should be hired simply because they are women and so that the company can brag about their "diversity". Hire someone based on their skill set, not based on their gender. I am a woman, I have many interests an…

Well in that case we seem to agree. You shouldn't feel embarrassed about your issues. The UK is a funny place these days but try to break through to your parents and if they don't listen find someone else who does. The world isn't completely hopeless.

My male friends have experienced discrimination because they were men but it's not really my stories to tell however they are the reason I followed this group. They have also experienced sexual harassment and I realized that some women can behave just as recklessly as some men. I never thought much about it before the past few months where I actually asked my male friends straight on about the issues they experience when it comes to women. It's a shame really, I didn't realize how bad it was bef…

I don't think you can use your own experience to generalize. I am a woman myself, and I experienced the opposite in my family. My brothers were favored over me all the time no matter what I did. It seems to be a pattern in your family though to favor women and that's not okay. If you are going through a tough time whether it's a mental illness or not, you should be taken seriously regardless of your gender. Your parents obviously see your sister as weaker because of her gender and therefore take…

I understand your frustration but sometimes good things happen when you expect it the least so I do think there is still hope for you. However, I think it would be a good idea for you to just focus on yourself for a while and do things that make you happy. If you happen to meet a decent woman along the line then great but try not to have it be the focus of your life. I know it is really difficult to even hope to meet a decent person since most people out there are messed up but it can happen. So…

Just because it has not happened to you, it does not mean it doesn't happen to others. The world is bigger than what goes on around you. I have heard a lot of stories from my male friends and what they have gone through and that is not based on the internet at all. In fact this is my first time on Reddit. I spend most of my time in the real world rather than on the internet and I have seen and heard quite a lot. If you haven't, then you're really lucky and I'm happy for you.

It seems like your focus is too much on her. Maybe you should think of why you are attracted to that kind of person in the first place and change that. There are women out there who appreciate it when you are nice to them and treat them well but you have to set some standards for yourself. First of all, why the hell are you funding their relationship with almost half of your income? Second of all, stop referring to yourself as a creep and treat yourself right. It doesn't matter what everyone els…

I absolutely agree with you! Spot on! I am a woman and an antifeminist as well. I couldn't have said it better than you just did. So nice to hear that there are other fellow women out there who understand the issue of feminism.

The problem is not just teaching girls that men are the enemy but it is also raising young boys with blame and a feeling of guilt for something they never did. What has the world come to? I try to always speak up for men as a woman and I hope more women eventually will listen and speak up as well.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
