You can't make them get help. We have had serious talks many times. I offered to go with her to an out patient rehab and she won't do it. | 1 | My situationWell when someone looks at you in the eye and says I am not going to stop, I can't make her. She is very firm with the fact she does not need help. The first thing anyone with knowledge of alcoholism will tell you is that you can't change the person they have to do it themselves. and today I found a letter I wrote to her 10 years ago concerning her drinking so this isn't something that just started. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/20 08:49 PM |
| 2 | My situationNothing horrible like a DUI. She does most drinking at home. Just conversation with her mother on text and phone talking about it. And I have recording of her admitting to me she needs to stop. I think son would live with me but like lawyer told me sons may feel like they need to take care of Mom. I do Everything!! She has cooked less than 5 meals in 2 years. I do all of his clothes shopping ect.. But how do you prove that. She can say anything she wants. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/02/20 08:22 PM |
