YES. My ex once asked me if I would "compromise" on working as a journalist in a smaller city (where he got a very good job offer) instead of the capital city of our country (where we currently live in). I instantly said no, that I would never give up my dreams/career for a man. He seemed ok with it at the moment, but we broke up three weeks later because he said we weren't compatible and had different goals 🤡 I felt miserable when we broke up (I made a post about it), but each day I'm feeling a…

"I don't want a relationship right now". I should have known the "with you" was silent.

Well, in my comment I was talking about "I love you" in a romantic way. I'm the exact opposite from you; I don't date men who I'm friends with, because I like keeping my friendships and my romantic relationships in separate boxes. With that being said, you don't have to say "I love you" back to someone, even in a friendship, if you don't feel the same way, and if they're forcing that to grow closer to you and force a relationship maybe they're people you shouldn't associate with.

The 2nd point tho!!! My ex literally told me he wished he could break my boundaries, because that would mean we would be closer and a sign that I trusted him. HELL TO THE NO!!! I should've dumped him in that second

Love bombing (saying "I love you" way too soon is the one that stands out the most to me, also immediately talking about future plans such as moving in together) Having a bad relationship with one or both of his parents Being friends with his ex(s) My ex in a nutshell. NEVER again 🙅🏻‍♀️

YES!!! It's the fucking audacity indeed. My pick-me friend in high school once attacked me for feeling offended when ugly guys thought they had a chance with me, but she was the one who constantly cried over males who didn't give a shit about her 😂

The first guy I dated was a 21 year old groomer when I was 17. He was really good looking, but constantly reeked of sweat because he didn't wear deodorant, and when we spent the night together he refused to brush his teeth in the morning (with the brand new toothbrush I had packed for him in case he forgot his) because he hadn't eaten breakfast yet. One of my other exs also pulled this move when we spent the night together. It was such a relief when I dated my most recent ex - he was always impe…

I HATE the "entertain me" type of guy. I was once having a pleasant conversation with someone on Tinder, until he hit me with "tell me something really interesting about yourself". I was instantly put off by that and told him that question made me uncomfortable because it put me on the spot. He kept pressuring me, and I finally told him it was not my job to entertain him, before I unmatched. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Sadly, I can relate to this girl. In my pick-me days I would always say I wasn't looking for a relationship just to avoid the trouble of being told that first. I figured if I said it first, they wouldn't see me as the desperate loser who wanted a relationship. I finally let go of that terrible mindset and now I'm not afraid of voicing my real standards and wants, which got me to my first serious relationship ever.

This is so true. I'm 21 and my last boyfriend (22) told me all the pretty lies, introduced me to his family and told me he wanted to marry and have children with me. Now he's playing the victim on his Twitter account, talking about how "traumatized" he is, lmao. I'm really starting to dread the person I once loved more than anything

YES! I'm a late bloomer, and without wanting to sound cocky, I'm pretty attractive now. But when I was in middle school I went to a posh private school, and I was ruthlessly bullied by some of the ugliest scrotes I've ever seen. They thought their money gave them a free pass for their attitude. I gotta admit I still look at myself in the mirror and fear that I'm as ugly as they would say I was, even if now people tell me I look like a model. :/

A guy on Tinder once negged me for my wavy hair and said I would look hotter with a Brazilian blowout. Lol. I look hot as fuck with BOTH wavy and straightened hair, I'll only wear the latter when I feel like doing so, not because of some LVM scrote 💅

I absolutely second this comment. I'm single again, but when I started dating my ex (and it was a wonderful relationship while it lasted) I'm 100% sure things worked out because I was at my prime - I felt confident in myself and despite occasionally missing having a boyfriend, it wasn't a priority in my life. Prior to that, I could never get into a serious relationship because I was too desperate for affection and, in consequence of that, displayed ALL the pick-meisha traits. I'm going through a…

Omg, I felt this. I got into my fitness journey a few months ago and I would always talk about my "revenge body", when in fact I wasn't planning revenge on anyone (I even had a boyfriend)! Lmao I think I will just view it as a self love journey instead

This is ridiculous. I'm a big fan of Pandora jewelry, but I wear it as everyday jewelry that I buy for myself. I'd feel offended if I ever got proposed with a Pandora ring, I'd only accept one as a cute promise ring in the early stages of dating

I know a girl 100% like this! She is constantly beefing with the ex that got cheated on and refers to her LVM boyfriend as "husband" despite being a permanent girlfriend of 5 years who already got knocked up 🤣🤣 She has a whole ass baby and a home with him and genuinely believes he will still propose. Her delusion is hilarious

Thank you so much! 💖 I needed this. I want to fight the remainings of my inner pick-meisha so bad, but I admit I wonder if he still loves me. He clearly doesn't, because when you love someone you don't make them feel the way I do right now... What hurts the most is that he told me he still loved me. I know deep down it's a form of manipulation so I'm unable to move on. It sucks :(

T H I S!!! I don't trust men in social sciences at all, I had a professor in my first year of college that was the walking stereotype of a LVM: introduced himself as a feminist in the first class (lol), poly amorous and part of the BDSM community

Besides the ones that have been mentioned here, I'd like to add listening to his problems and giving advice. It's also important to note that while you should do so in a relationship, you must not confuse it with playing therapist. NEVER play therapist with a man, even if you're in a committed relationship!

There's this guy that has been stalking me on social media since at least 2017. I have no idea who he is and have never seen him in my life, but he found my Instagram and messaged me saying he has seen me at X store in Y mall, that I go to a lot because it's near my place. I blocked him there back then, only to receive a friend request on Facebook just a few weeks ago. Note that I only have my first name (which is very common in my country) on Instagram, so it's even weirder that he found my Fac…

THIS. I'm a huge FDS disciple, and it has been paying off in my current relationship, but I'm afraid to say I'm the biggest pick-meisha when it comes to friendships. I think I'm getting better at it though. These holidays I went home (I'm living abroad) and of course none of my "friends" (other than my best friend) reached out to me to hang out. It sucks and I felt like shit, but at least I now know what I'm worth and I'm done chasing them like a dog

I don't believe in explaining men why I'm not interested. In my opinion, dating is a lonely road, and I'm not here to play relationship coach (despite my username lol)/give constructive criticism. Sucks for the next girl who meets him, but my point stands: it's not my job.

Your comment is really interesting, because your experience is the complete opposite of mine! I'm Portuguese (from Lisbon) and currently living in Madrid, so I have some experience with Southern European guys (both Portuguese and Spanish). I now have a (Portuguese) boyfriend who treats me like a queen, but my dating experience in Spain was TERRIBLE. Same! My best friend used to be the biggest pick-meisha, believing in all of the going dutch on dates crap and so on. I'm 5'3, and when I was 17 (I'm 21) I went out with a guy who claimed to be 5'6. Since there was a considerable difference I figured it wouldn't be awkward if I wore platforms on the date. I wore a pair of platforms that weren't even that high to begin with, and when I saw him I was baffled by how shorter he was than me. I decided to keep it cool, but after 20 minutes I couldn't pretend anymore and left. I ghosted him and he kept bothering me with texts asking why I didn't like the date, and I a…

That ring is, in the best scenario, a promise ring, and I would still be turned off by the fact it's from Walmart. For a promise ring I'd much rather prefer a Pandora one, but never for my engagement ring. Pick-meishas are INSANE.

Your boyfriend is not "weird as hell", your boyfriend is a LVM. I'd feel humiliated just by staying on that relationship, he clearly doesn't appreciate you. The venmo part is disgusting, ugh

Seconding this! I have two straight male best friends as well, and I truly believe in platonic friendships with the opposite sex, but I also a have a safety net of girlfriends. I think I'd go insane if my only interactions were with men lol

Yes, Charlotte was definitely a pickme in her first marriage, I didn't even remember how cringy it was her way of manipulating Trey into getting married 💀 She had an amazing character development though, I really liked her and Harry together
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/12/19 08:49 AM
51

Charlotte is my fave too! I hate how the show portrays her as a boring prude. Sometimes she was a bit too over the top, but at the end of the day her beliefs about what makes a woman marriage-material or not were right. And she was the one who ended up with a better husband, after all
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/12/19 06:40 AM
39

Seconding your opinion on Miranda! She could be just as big of an HVW as Samantha, but she had rose tinted glasses when it came to Steve. He was a sweet guy in the beggining, but I found disgusting how he tried to win her over when she wasn't interested with the nice guy persona, only to end up CHEATING on her. And I also hated him for being so insecure over the status inbalance lmao. If you can't handle a powerful woman, don't make her waste her time.

When I was single, whenever a guy planned a date with me and said before-hand that it would depend on him waking up (lol) I would INSTANTLY ghost/block him. If I'm not worthy of you setting up a fucking alarm you're not worth my time, period.

Agree 100%. I look back on my behaviour from just a few months ago and I realize I was too a pick-me, but this sub has really helped me. Even my friends would tell me that I needed to lower my standards, but I had a gut feeling that I was right, which was later confirmed by this sub
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/12/19 02:23 AM

This is SO true. My boyfriend is constantly telling me that he's the luckiest guy in the world for having a "goddess" (his words haha) like me, and THIS is the kind of reassurance every girl needs
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/12/19 02:21 AM

I have a friend (not a very close one, but still a friend) that's been in permanent-girlfriend position for like 5 years, yet still thinks she has the most perfect relationship ever. Once she kinda shamed me for being single, and I stopped talking to her for a while. This immediately made me think of a uni professor in my first year that presented himself in the first class with "I'm a feminist". He would always try to brainwash us with his wOkE views every single class. I'm taking a journalism bachelor. Take your own conclusions.

I'm far from being a femcel and I assume everyone here is in the same situation. I even thought femcels weren't welcome at all (please correct me if I'm wrong, but I got that idea from a comment I saw in a post a while ago)

I really appreciate the input of married women here! I read something in this sub that really stuck with me: we should only take advice from successful WOMEN, because the dating advice is usually written to benefit men. That is a golden rule for me now ❤️
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/10/19 04:50 PM

Amazing!!! See how it worked out? You made him chase YOU, good job girl. I think you should wait a bit before replying, and be honest (but not TOO honest with him). Establish your boundaries, tell him that you got indeed a little upset with him canceling the date, but don't make him think he's that important. Communicate, but don't make him feel like he has the power to make you upset, see what I mean?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy27/10/19 02:03 PM

First of all, DON'T listen to your friends' advice about lowering your standards. You're a high value woman and you deserve to be treated as such. I'm getting weird vibes about you having to text him to ask if the date is still happening. Do not discard him immediately (since you had great chemistry), but keep your options open and date other guys so you don't get crushed if things don't work out with the first guy. Also, don't reply to his text. Wait for him to come back and text again to engag…

Totally. A man who is really into you takes pride in you and wants to show you off. My relationship with this guy didn't work out for a number of reasons, but I have to give him credit where it's due and I could tell he genuinely felt lucky to have a girl like me by his side. From then on I started to expect nothing but that kind of attitude
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/10/19 05:16 AM

I read a really good article the other day that said we should pursue the perfect balance between both: a guy that has the alpha looks to our taste, but also some beta qualities (so he's not that unattainable)

I met my ex boyfriend's female friends at a bar (where the whole group was hanging out) even before he asked me officially to be his girlfriend. My advice to you would be to expect nothing less than this. Some guys actually introduce you to his friends (female and male) before making it official as a test
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/10/19 04:33 AM
2

Oh, I guess you missed some parts of my post. I texted him for like 5 minutes, then unmatched as soon as he told me he had a girlfriend. I never met this guy lol
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/10/19 02:53 AM
5

I get it, but I can't assume what this girl's reaction would be. Some girls are extremely delusional about their shitty boyfriends (I was once harassed by a guy on the bus and his pregnant girlfriend wanted to hit ME, lol). I'm all about supporting other women and helping them out of bad situations, but I will always put my own well being first, specially considering that I'm not in my country
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/10/19 02:44 AM

And yes, I will probably not do anything regarding the girlfriend. I'm a petty person when people piss me off, but this is definitely not worth my time lol

I love taking care of myself. I never saw it as a burden or an annoying obligation, but rather as a way to improve my appearance that's under my control. With that being said, this is what I do: Skincare I use a face wash everyday and apply moisturizer after. It's a really simple routine and I definitely need to invest more on it, but so far my skin has always looked ok, despite some breakouts from time to time. I also make sure to take off my makeup carefully everyday. Hair My hair care routine…

Alright, I'd be a little worried if you were in your 20s or something, in that case you'd definitely be a rebound. Wait for updates and see the other girls' opinions, but don't forget to take everything he says with a grain of salt! Good luck ❤️🍀

Even before joining this sub I would always tell guys that I prefer having dinner on a first date, and I would often be told that they would only take girlfriends on dinner dates, not Tinder matches, so this proves your point. I'd obviously not pursue anything with them after; my motto for OLD is "if you don't find me good enough to be your girlfriend, then you're not getting ANYTHING from me". It's hard to stick to it sometimes, but it has…

"Also important to ID the alpha girl and neutralize her" This is useless advice. I'm a 20 yo girl, and I know what you're talking about, but if I'm on a nightout with my girls and the "group leader" tries to shut down a guy I'm interested in I won't let her do so. I'll be like "hey [friend's name], don't be mean haha" and he will be welcome to stay if he expressed interest in me. If the "alpha girl" shuts you down it's because no one in the group liked you and there's nothing you can do about it

Well, you're on incels without hate after all. I genuinely hope seeing a female perspective helps you in any way. I won't give you pointless advice because I assume you're tired of it and you didn't ask in the first place, but I'm rooting for you :)

Thank you for your answer! I wouldn't say I need to be put on a pedestal per se, but if I was in the case of dating someone who had experienced heartbreak I'd definitely have some insecurities, which would lead to a need of firmer reassurance (that could easily be confused with the need of be putting on a pedestal) I guess

I checked your profile and you're a guy AND an incel. What are you even doing here lol

Also, that post is lifefuel for incels. I hope none of them sees it.

Oh my God. This is too bad. She should have NEVER lost her virginity to him. Even if she says she doesn't care much about that part, it will affect her regardless. Poor girl. I wish I could hug her.

So he has time and wifi connection to be logged on Tinder, but not to text her. For fuck's sake. This is too ridiculous

Really interesting view. But I have a question, that may come from my own insecurities. I'm really afraid of guys who have experienced heartbreak, in the sense that I fear they still have feelings for their ex. I'm terrified of the idea of "competing" with an ex and feeling like he will never love me the way he loved her

I second this. He probably didn't find you that attractive and/or interesting, but he still finds you attractive enough to see if he can get some sex before he finds someone better (which will lead to him eventually ghosting you). Date other guys, sis. Do better.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I'm new to this sub and this is, indeed, a hard to swallow pill, but I'm also reflecting on my past actions and seeking for a better future.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
