I think young men are at least wising up. by 2030 45% of women will be *technically single. Then come the bachelor tax which will result in men leaving the country or purposely choosing subsistence living or getting married to buddies on paper to skirt the tax Chuck and Larry style. Then the tax system completely implodes, followed by a period of major civil unrest resulting in a violent swing back to 50s style marriages or something else. Enjoy the next 20 years because it's going to get dicey …

yeah but people are animals and all animals have a default set of rules with minor to moderate variations. Don't get in the cage with a hungry tiger and expect not to be eaten.

RP is profylactic in my Opinion. It works (as much as I hate to admit how well it works) but only if you use it day 1 of the relationship. Yrying to implement it later will get you labeled as "toxic". For instance once I started to re-establish boundaries and acted like I had a spine...boom divorce papers. You can't slowly become a pushover over the course of 9 years and then suddenly have a backbone. And even if you do start day 1 then you have to maintain all the rules 100% of the time. Honest…

anyway 10 yrs time there will be loads of us going to be alone. This honestly kind of scares me from an economic perspective, will we see the reprise of single aunts living with there sister's families? What will happen with all the single men? No one seems to expect or care what the challenges in older age are going to be. Maybe its because of my job but couples usually end up combining their physical and mental resources to essentially be "1 functional adult". Strap in and bring a helmet I gue…

This worked for me. I made a deal with myself that if it didn't get better in a year then I had permission from myself to go through with it. I circled a date and whenever I thought about it or it got rough I'd say "well x days, and I don't have to do this anymore. ". Eventually things did get better and I forgot about it entirely.

I dated a lot of single moms post divorce for the same reasons the thing is you have to protect yourself and your kids and that means No simping. The woman I am with now has to carry her own weight and contribute. Sure life issues come up but I would never co-mingle your assets or take on any debt for her.

I don't know how old you are but if this was a single issue a single time and your above 40 I would reconsider divorce. The dating pool past 30 is nuclear wasteland of Single moms, mentally unstable people, and other undesirable personality issues.
/r/Divorce_Men14/08/24 01:46 PM

Sure they do, women only provide other women so much attention, and even then they use the information they get to back-bite each other and make each other miserable. They want the top 20s attention as bad as any habit forming substance. You get enough guys like Henry Cavill mentioning they think dating is getting risky for men and women chimp out like crazy.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/04/24 12:56 PM

I don't think that is true, women don't factor in the "invisible" services men perform that make their lives easier. If even 30% of men decided to take off and become frontiersmen in say Montana away from civilization you would see massive problems in any industry that involves waste disposal, maintenance, and services. Chad isn't going to take your trash to the dump for you, make sure your sewage treatment plant is operational and take care of the electrical grid.

The problem with 4B from my perspective is that they are applying feminine "consensus" behavior to men's individualistic behavior. Men only work together when faced with a common threat and even then they are not a behavioral monolith. Men won't change behaviorally if they take their ball and go home. They will band together and figure out a different game instead.

I think women specifically in this way have been sold this idea that they can have everything they want in a singular guy by the media and other women. This has really done a disservice to them on the whole. There was a manosphere article that identified a "Spinster Bubble". I don't like that term but there is a HUGE amount of older women who are going to be single in their 40s very soon. It's already projected at 40%. That's never happened in our culture. The problem is men now know too much ab…

Every group has bad actors, even feminist subgroups (Kill all Men?). Most of the mgtow guys I talked to were basically older divorced men who were focused on their kids or young guys painting Warhammer minis and don't really care about attention from women because they never had any, anyway.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/24 12:56 PM

Judging by the overall decline of men in the dating pool for older women (40s and up) and the overall decline in marriage altogether over all age demographics I think it's a higher percentage of men than people want to admit. Also I think a lot of guys don't know that the set of behaviors has a name and also our culture would prefer not to identify it in popular culture due to the Streisand effect.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/03/24 12:52 PM

I always saw MGTOW as the logical conclusion of Red Pill. It's kind of like videogames, after you figure out how to beat the game it ceases to be fun or entertaining anymore. Most guys start out Red Pill, realize it works for them and become disillusioned and eventually check out or it doesn't work for them (you can't negotiate attraction with someone much more "fit" than you) and go MGTOW out of failure to beat the system. The latter cohort being much more common usually become and stay bitter,…

The "Feminism is to help men too" comes in the same sample pack as "Real Communism hasn't been tried yet" and "only cops should have guns but also ACAB" I wish feminists would just grow some ovaries and admit it's just women maximizing there agency at the detriment of the bottom 80% of men.

I'd argue that Feminism benefits from Men's inherent drive to be protective of women, even when they don't need protecting. The polar opposite is true of men protecting other men, creating an extremely lopsided cultural reinforcement of feminist ideals. That and the powers that be using feminism to suppress any real opposition of their agendas by stamping out any cohesive mens movement in its infancy under the guise of "Stopping the patriarchy/misogynists/bigots!"

boy scouts aren't demonized, though they are under 18s This illustrates the point about men's groups. It's just scouts now, because girls can be in it also. Despite Girl Scouts already existing as its own group (which doesn't welcome boys no matter what anyone says). Boys can't even have their own groups because of the fear that certain special interests have.

Its so hard to forecast honestly. There are good and bad everything. In regards to your question, there are bad wives and good ones, bad nursing homes and good ones, sometimes you can tell and sometimes you can't. Will you regret it? Probably but that's part of life. I regret marrying my ex wife almost everyday. I worry so much about my kids while they are with her. I wish I would've pursued at least 2 other women instead when I was young. Real talk this is what my personal observations are: Young and naive- this time it'll be different. Doesn't do any sort of personality audit or mental health housekeeping and the cycle repeats. He's better off getting out at 24 than later after they have a kid or two to "save the marriage". I WISH I would've listened to my gut instead of my mom when she talked me into going back out with my then girlfriend now ex-wife. I would say it depends on the judge but as a rule they don't care. However, it is beneficial for you to catch your ex in a lie to the judge. Mine tried to claim I don't pay my child support, daycare, and other obligations, So I produced receipts and it made her look rather foolish on the stand.
/r/Divorce_Men30/08/23 12:40 PM

have you considered that whatever plan she had fell through and now you are Plan B or even C? Most times they only come back to you because whatever better option they had failed. She will just do this over and over to you until she finds a better deal. Also she's probably jealous you have a girlfriend and is trying to screw that up for you. This is a classic ploy.
/r/Divorce_Men15/08/23 12:37 PM

After my quick period of losing my mind I did the math and figured out that if I limited my losses on her to just child support that I would actually be better off in the long run. The amount of bullshit she was buying with our joint account was staggering.

Here's the deal, there are bad people not all people are bad but some are. What you should be mad about is that society sold you a bill of goods that wasn't real. Women at the heart of it have their own imperatives, so do men. When you make peace with that you will be freer than you were before. You can't hate a tiger for being a tiger. You have to respect the tiger for what it is and treat it accordingly.

I think this is worth exploring, in combination witht the second most upvoted comment, You need to figure out if you can at least tolerate each other as roommates and coparent effectively, which by the way I am convinced is 80% of marriages past 10 years anyway. The day I came home from therapy (to save our marriage LOL) and she handed me papers I freaked out and began laughing, screaming, and walking in circles. I just couldn't handle that I had tried so hard to change myself, for her, and nothing worked that I just had a nervous breakdown then and there. Imagine yourself, 7 years down the line, she doesn't want you to touch her because she just isn't feeling great. You haven't spoken about anything substantial outside of small talk in 2 years. You realize that you can also be lonely while someone sleeps next you. You're married.

This is bad advice, you should always be prepared for any major life decision to go belly up. That's why insurance exists in the first place. Prenups are practically worthless anyway. The best way is to avoid signing a marriage license. Cohabitation can also be a problem depending on where you live.
/r/Divorce_Men12/06/23 01:17 PM
2

No. The main problem as I see it is risk. How do you guarantee that the person you marry or yourself will remain the same person over the next 40 years. You won't. In some cases like mine the person you date and the person you are married to are completely different people. I have one overarching rule in my life now and it is if there is a way to achieve something without uncle sam being involved that is the best course of action.

A lot of guys I know have wives that are teachers, or work for a college or university. Also government jobs usually have really good health plans. I had my ex-wifes up until we split. Coincidentally I had a lot of free dental work done right before the divorce.

There are some things like, sharing health insurance benefits, sometimes tax breaks, and spousal privilege in court but the risks outpace these benefits by a factor of thousands or millions in some cases.

You don't have to hate them, you just need to realize that society and the media sold you a certain perspective about women that was untruthful and that while their are some who are wonderful, like all of humanity (men and women) most are not worth investing your time and feelings in.

It's simple, a complete societal and cultural meltdown via some sort of cataclysmic event is about the only thing that would repair the chasm at this point. Like a complete reversion to hunter gatherer dynamics that force men and women back into roles dictated by sexual dimorphism.

/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:09 PM

I think you're not using very good examples here. Japan's standard of the family man is EVEN worse than most western ideals, its no wonder they are checking out. China on the other-hand is actually the result of over-emphasis on males during the 1 child policy and a mix of other disastrous policy decisions which have resulted in like a 1.2 male to female ratio or something. I would not use China and Japan as examples for this argument.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 02:03 PM

The ones you used to see in the forum were just the "initiates". The one's that made peace with the way things work left and have nothing to contribute, which coincidentally is also the more sensible ones that might have given dating and relationships another chance if they hadn't woken up to reality. Women who want family units with a husband should be concerned about this.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 01:52 PM

You can say that and it's true, but the fact that all these men were able to get together and compare notes has completely subverted what men believe about women. It's good for men but terrible for our cultures and civilization, we will see the effects in full force by 2035 probably. Buckle up
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/23 01:45 PM

100%. Men are more or less viewed as workable livestock by women. It's always been that way. That's why whenever women shame a man or denigrate a bad mate choice he's always a "bum", "good for nothing", "lazy", "drunk", etc. take your pick they all have the same root mentality that men are only valuable as long as we produce something. Its fine to view us like that but we're NOT SUPPOSED TO KNOW THIS. Now that we do, we're checking out of the whole system and just doing whatever we want, free of…

because 80% of people are dysfunctional, men date/marry laterally and down on looks and intelligence, while women date up on both. Look at it as more of an affinity for positive outliers. The problem that some women and to a vastly lesser degree men have is that due to the apps, HV people can essentially settle for people who are much farther below them if they want to, short term. It's worse than that actually, almost every industry is somehow affected by marriage. Women account for some 80% of consumer spending, while men on the other hand tend to only buy what they need with some hobby buying, they tend to utilize the service industry less, retail less, and healthcare less.

It's because we have the most single women between the ages of 25-35 in the recorded history of the world. The party is over and the bill is due and the ones that still want marriage have realized their competition has way more to offer. It's not really about women needing BB's or not, it is ACTUALLY this: If enough guys decide to stop settling for BB status and instead decide to "perpetually play the field/opt out" of the dating market, two things are going to happen. 1) The welfare state that most of these women truly depend on i.e. "muh independence" will become unsustainable. Personally I think all guys should just stop courting women, simping on OF and other platforms and see what happens. I mean I know what would happen but I want to see it play out.

Well the way I came to terms with losing full time access to my children is that if I had stayed married I would've taken a shot gun to the mouth and then they'd be without me forever. Haven't had a real battle with depression since.

Men are so brainwashed that they think comfortable servitude is better than harsh freedom. It's never even occurred to most men to even ask the question, "why do I need a wife?"

Men of that generation haven't or don't want to take care of themselves, Especially the divorced and widowers. Women on the other hand usually have their income, and sometimes cash prizes from a divorce or death of a spouse so they don't need men, and rely on children for any unmet menial labor needs. What do they need another man for?

Do I think your stupid? No. Naive, probably. You're going to need a good lawyer and a lot of cash if you don't want to lose your boys

I think it's possible to have a good marriage, but the possibility you'll find it is about the same as the lottery odds. There's a guy out there, who wrote this book called the book of numbers and basically he spent the time and gathered all the statistical and environmental data on finding "the one". If you're hopeful I wouldn't read it because the numbers are quite apparent on your odds, even when you have everything going for you.

A plow horse is happy to have a stable and hay to eat up until the day he breaks his leg working and the farmer shoots him in the head. The mustang sees the plowhorses life and says "well, life might be tough, but at least I'm free to do as I please."

That amount of work you are putting in is going to kill you in support payments, your essentially making the rope she's going to hang you with. you need to slowly but less noticeably scale back and drag it out for 3 years

I've tried to point out that the kids should come first but I think she views them more as tools to hurt me. This is comment is exactly what I want, I'm not trying to be intrusive or make her uncomfortable I just simply want to say hello to my children when I see them in public.

She would force him to quit if I did that.

Lastly, she probably wants to enjoy her time without you. Sucks but if she doesn’t want to be around you then perhaps give her some space. So I generally keep a pretty good distance, I have no interest in making her uncomfortable, frankly I'd rather not be near her either. Most times its just a quick 5 minute exchange with my kid and thats all.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
