Nah lol I always insist on paying for myself. I don’t want a guy acting like I owe him sex for a pasta special.

I need reflexes like these, honestly. She is goals.

He never claimed to be joking, he even told her his intention was to scare her - with actions he knew would terrify her. Sicko.

I know! Probably "fml for putting any amount of time and energy into this utter fuckwit".

It really emphasizes that you do have to look after yourself, but I'm glad she had a safe place to go to get away from him too. Unlike some of those stories I read in the comments.

He updated that she's divorcing him thinking their relationship can't work. Good for her.

No, I know it's not our fault. It's the luck of the draw in our society. Just sucks that many of us are biologically wired to be attracted to men, most of whom would just use and abuse us. Biology is cruel. :(

Okay yes, that helps. I hope I don't sound patronizing or dismissive when I say, lucky you! In the sense that women are beautiful and awesome and you're luck you don't have to deal with men's bullshit in the romantic/sexual world anymore. I'm sorry your friend was awful. :/ Been there. Thanks for the kind words. <3

How did you get over that? It makes me so sad to realize (and in many ways I knew), that the men I was with when I was younger didn't see me or like me as a person at all. :/

Oh no, this one messed me up, having been one of those women when I was younger and more naive... I wonder why it seems so instinctual for men to dehumanize us. It stings.

Feels like I could have written this, word for exact word. No one prepared me for men like this, and I was so young and naive that I fell for the pretty faces, empty compliments, and sad stories. But now I know better, and I will make sure that the girls and women in my life will be prepared in all the ways that I wasn't. We won.

You lose your humanity in a "friend's" eyes the minute you agree to fuck them. ... but why? I've never been able to understand why having sex with a man immediately lowers your value in their eyes. It makes me sick.

Aw thank you. That really means a lot to me right now. <3 I remind myself that because of those experiences, I'll be able to appreciate a HVM that much more when I find him.

Honestly, this is so depressing. Over the past couple years, I let myself believe that men actually wanted to be FWB with me and actually be friends as well. And I got ghosted every single time after they got what they wanted. Even guys that seemed sweet and thoughtful beforehand. Not even a courtesy "we're through, goodbye" text. That was before I found this subreddit, but fuck if it doesn't still hurt sometimes.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
