How much I care about crimes doesn't depend on the gender of the victim. I do care that you got mugged and almost killed, because that's fucking horrible. I also care about the male victims of prison rape, but that wasn't the topic. Look, no one thinks you should care about rape because you might want to rape people. They think should care about rape because it affects women in every area and every socioeconomic bracket. Most women who've been raped don't talk about it often or to many people. I can count on one hand the number of women I know who've told me that been raped, but I can also count on hand the number of people they've told.
