Agreed. Use a nice scrunchie/hair elastic with a bow. Eyeliner, mascara, tinted lipgloss. Cute and simple, and then focus on the work itself. :)

u/stripe_throwaway, May you elaborate on your response? You got me at the “this is not your cross to bear.” My spouse is so similar to OPs man, and I am not sure how to best support him… but I do get that it is not so much my problem, it’s his balance. Can you share in how to best cope with this/manage without feeling too helpless, either here or in a longer post? Thank you! 🥰

I would also encourage you to go to a service in person, even and especially if that means going alone. Take your time, join a small group, make friends. If he desires to join eventually, that will come in it’s time. Until then (days/weeks/months/years/decades), be patient with him. Follow your own convictions, and your relationship and personal well-being will greatly benefit.

Say you work at a hospital. Then say that we can talk more about my work over coffee. You could be anything from a janitor to the CEO. If she walks away, you just saved your life. If she doesn’t, talk about your work over a 10$ date, and everyone wins.

+1 to changing your phone number. If you don’t, he’ll just start calling you from different phone numbers. Been there, done that, it’s awful. When you change the phone number, be sure to only give out your new digits to friends who will respect your breakup. This will sound awful, but be super careful with mutual friends. After a break up, especially if the mutual friends are torn, they may be the ones to give your ex the new digits (because he’s changed; he’s lonely; he didn’t actually cheat; h…

Hi! I’m also tall, and your post makes sense. It’s tricky to navigate, especially if you are not model thin. I am curvy, and I’ve had my struggles feeling bigger than I want to be, but that was especially because of comparing myself to others and to societal expectations. My proportions don’t stop me from being feminine, and neither should yours. Learn to be well with yourself. Do things that make you feel good about how you are. Wear figure flattering clothes. Eat foods that make you feel good/…

“if I can squeeze into the 6, then I will look far better into the 8.” This is a huge thing. Another thing I’ve acceltes with time is that getting things altered is a life saver. It will make sure that the fit is the perfect thing for you. Be it expensive of not, doesn’t matter. Looser is better than tighter for me, and if you aren’t sure, ask the tailor. I am an absolute fan of both Adrienne Everheart & Helena Hart. I don’t listen every day because I am more into reading than watching videos, but these ladies both have a calm, feminine presence to them, and encourage how feminine ways can help a women, and thus, a couple, live in harmony. Whether single or in a relationship, I think that there are a lot of good pearls that can be helpful to improve a relationship, or at very least, present yourself in a more sweet and feminine way. “f it's a gift you want to give to someone, then it's a gift, not a trade. If the condition of you giving the gift is to get one back, then it's trade. Do you want trade or you want to follow your values regardless of other people's values“ This is everything!

I think this is worth sitting and having a chat about, not just for him, but for you also. You are very busy at work, and your night shift break is limited, for eating, and maybe even catching a nap. This is so important, regardless of your role at the hospital. Is there any possibility for you to see each other between shifts? Can he pick you up and drive you Hope in the morning? Can you have a walk together before or after your night shift? When I work Night Shift, I tend to wake up for a dayt…

You definitely have a bit of flexibility as to how this is going to be handled. How long have you been together for? When do you planned on getting married? At 26 years old, depending on how you answered the previous questions, this could be a great time to plan for moving forward with your life. You could move into a small apartment solo or with roommates. If you are planning on getting married in a year, then you can grin and bear this for a little bit with encouragement from your SO until you…

Such good points! What words do you suggest using when having this conversation? I’m not married, but I’m dating, and I’m not sure how to do this without sounding like a gold digger. I’ve asked about his long term plans, but how do I ask about what he would be willing to do if his plan or dream didn’t provide as he anticipated? How do I get an answer to how he plans on providing for his future family?

I agree with the replies already listed. I would also urge you to dwell in the reasons why you did not want to go on more than two dates with him. If those issues were problems then, they are likely still problems now. Yes, by miracle, maybe he’s changed. But your efforts would be best spent working on yourself and looking for the qualities you desire in other men in your vicinity.

You need to be next to a wall already, which will make it easier and more natural for you if this is new. Kiss her when she comes home, or kiss her when you come home. Close the door and lean her against the wall, and continue making out and enjoying each other. To protect her head, don’t worry about the impact of the wall, or else you’ll be distracted. Focus on caressing her hair, neck, and all that follows. That will keep her safe and happily leaning in. Voilà! Have fun! :)

Break ups are the worst, good luck dear girl. You are off to a good start. My last break up was a year ago. It took a good 6 months to get over it. It is normal to be in love for a while. It is necessary to give yourself time to fall out of love. Time is truly the best ingredient. Everything else is just icing. I cannot recommend this podcast enough. You need to know what you want. It's only been 7 months. If you have a high SMV, as you said, you need to know the terms and conditions that you can work with today. An open relationship is obviously not for you. Better being clear about this now, and making decisions accordingly, rather than 7 years later, when the SMV will drop. The cheapest price to pay is right now. Maybe you two were a match with the SMV. There is a disconnect with the RMV. Either way, both of you need to start talking, and…

Sometimes stable and safe is definitely just what you need. Not knowing OP, many women are used to relationship with drama, with a problem, and if it is not there, then they go out looking for it. Don’t be that girl… He’s got a job and a home, wants marriage, and wants you to be happy. The only problem is that the house is too clean and everyone is taken care of. So be it! Until there is a problem, there are other ways of helping out. The day will come where he can’t do everything. By this post,…

This is a good and difficult question. If the man I am seeing has the same salary as you, and I have 100k annually, by the time kids are in the picture, it will be a tough sell to go down to one salary, regardless of my childhood dreams. This would have been possible when I was 18, but if I have kids in my 30s, the reality of things is truly different.

Agree, and also echo talking about this with a therapist NOW. Your wedding is in December, and you need to take care of that now rather than later. All the positive encouragement of an online community is one thing, but you need to let in the grace and heart transformation now. You are loved. You are cherished. You are wonderfully made. And you can get through this. But somethings need therapy, and your situation is one of them.

I agree with a lot of the comments. I will also add unwinding on the way to work, and on the way back. My commute is either by bike or by car. On the bike is nice, as it is a 30-minute ride where I can intentionally focus my thoughts elsewhere. I do not race to work, I pedal leisurely, and listen to music or podcasts that I enjoy. Same on my car rides, music and mood is everything. A podcast with a soft, feminine voice or sweet music, or instrumentals will slow me down, and bring me to be the wo…

Girl, that totally makes sense. I think that people are often surprised by the benefits of vulnerability, especially when it is expressed appropriately. There has been very little improvement on how you feel surfing people’s high reels 5 years ago than you would now, alone at home, during a pandemic, coming into the winter. Think of d…

There is a balance. 1) You don’t want to have a guy friend who doesn’t like your husband but only likes you (honour and respect your man). 2) You don’t want your husband to have a girlfriend who can’t stand you but hangs out solo with your husband (weird). As long as it stays that way, and stays healthy, you are having a reasona…

Heed this advice. First date. No one wants to be stuck for hours at dinner on a first date. Your next dates can be nice dinners. First date, drinks or coffee. You can order a virgin drink if you want to, that’s fine. You still get to make decisions according to your values. But don’t get stuck at a horrible 1/2/3 course meal with a guy you never want to sit with again. Your time is valuable, too.

ModCloth is lovely, our winters can go down to -40°C. Past that, just dress warm, and dress in cute layers.

I've been scared to go to the gym since the pandemic started. I am ready to overcome the fear. My goal is to go the the gym in person four times this October. Starting off small, but this goal is measurable and achievable.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
