What are some other "theories" that are arguably just as good or better? Yes, some dubious explanations of TRP allegedly based on biology and evolution are being put forward by overzealous followers. I think you still have to admit that TRP has more merit than your typical pop sci/psych because it delivers reproducible results. What are some other "theories" that are arguably just as good or better? You can't prove physics. The best you can do is fail to falsify it. The definition of the word theory as in scientific theory was mostly shaped by the natural sciences with some help from philosophy. I'm less knowledgeable about the soft sciences, but I've noticed researchers tend to avoid to call their ideas theories, but rather say 'paradigm' when it helps you understand and frame stuff or 'model' when it has some predictive power as well.	/r/TheRedPill	06/09/14 08:33 AM
