This seems like an appropriate reaction to a woman who has nothing to offer in exchange for a free ride. Let us look upon our past for wisdom. "Ass, grass or cash."

This is good information and I'd like to expand on the idea of only giving away bits and pieces at a time. Information, like currency, has value. Treat your personal information as such. If you are freely giving away information about yourself to anyone and everyone, this information holds very little value to the people that receive it. Inversely, if you pick and choose a select person or group of people to share things about yourself with, that information is understood to be more rarely avail…

If you care enough about her being exclusive to you, you just let her know that you are done sharing her with other men. She can stop seeing her bf or she can stop seeing you. Her choice. You lay it out very plain and unemotional for her. If she picks the bf, you hold your frame and never look back.

As a programmer, I often catch myself in a mindset of "ok, what do I want to do?" and instead of just answering it, I will take it an additional step and try to formulate an answer that will yield the most positive results; but then I have to stop myself and realize that this second step is giving undue consideration to other people that matter less. So just answer the first question. What do you want to do? Do you care about engineering? Are you passionate about it? If you have an opportunity t…

You just play by your rules. You're the man in the relationship. You dictate how and when she is worthy of your time and attention. You tell her how you expect her to behave and if she has a problem with it, she is welcome to leave. You have more important things to worry about than her emotional bullshit.

If she feels like its perfectly okay to just "tell" you she's going out while you stay home, there was something wrong already. [edit: I don't know what that could be... not enough information provided] The situation should have ideally gone down like: Her: "Hey femcow wants to go drink her loneliness away and I enjoy rubbing my happiness in her face while she does it. Is that okay, or do you have some other plans that this would interfere with?" You: "Girl that cow can go die in a fire, get you…

This is good advice. I stay pretty busy during the week and so I clear a block of time on the weekends where the wife and I get to just spend time together without the kids, doing all manner of disgusting things. During breaks she will talk, flirt and admire me. Last week she remarked that she found it extremely sexy how I can project such a confident "manly" image, and yet still had an air of boyish mischievousness about me. I just gave her my trademark knowing smirk. -- 10 years of marriage an…

This is great information. It should be a sticky or sidebar item for this subreddit.

You don't have to understand it for other people to enjoy it. My comment had more to do with communicating the concept that women take their lead from men. If you tell her a thing you're in to is normal, and she trusts the man you are, she will not question your declaration; she will accept it as her own.

She does, if you tell her she does.

Hey man, I wanted to let you know that you're not alone in seeing the value and benefits of LTRs. I'm going to go off the rails for a moment and discuss my current understanding of the emotional differences that men and women have, and then circle back around to how this has helped me fix my 10-year-marriage and finally find my path to becoming a better man; for myself and secondly for everyone else in my life. At our core, men are very logical. We have to be. We need to be able to assess the to…

It's still an issue of risk/reward, even for her. She would have to feel the chance of being caught was low enough that she wasn't at risk of losing her beta provider. Or, she would need to be convinced that the volunteer alpha was actually a potential higher-value beta provider.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
