Which is my point, mentally people that aren’t seeking treatment.

Maybe it should be phrased as mentally ill people who don’t actively seek treatment (therapy or meds as necessary).

You know it’s posts like this that people complaining about fds being incel-like need to read. Really we just don’t want to be murdered, raped, or used.

Personally marriage was never a huge deal for me. Right around the time we were talking about it (5 years or so) we had some traumatic stuff happen with family (my brother had a stroke, my father died etc). It was put on the back burner while I grieved and dealt with that. We got engaged at 8.5 years and were married at 10 (because of me). I didn’t even want a wedding but his parents paid for most of it so I went with it. Now I’m pregnant with our first and probably only child (2 years after wed…

I saw a post on a sub like too afraid to ask or something like that recently with very similar comments. Some women were agreeing that this place was toxic and I’m just like…. Empowering women to have a good life and pick a good partner is toxic…? Yikes

Do you have your dads last name?

A lot of these comments proclaim they’re keeping their own name bc of not wanting to change themself for a man… but have their father’s last names…? It’s common in the US for children to take their dad’s last name. I still have my maiden name legally bc the social security offices were closed for so long… I was going to now I just don’t care. His names prettier and way less common than mine. Socially and professionally I use his last name. Legally I still have my dad’s last name.

I wouldn’t be cool with it. Why end a relationship if you guys are on good terms? If they have kids, keep it about the kids and that is it.

My husband and I do not share a bank account. We have always thought that was weird. He knows I have savings and… he doesn’t care. If our bills are paid who gives a fuck

I think a lot of us were pick me’s. We do live in a patriarchy after all, it’s ingrained in us. Don’t feel bad. What matters is that you are educating yourself and growing!

I work in retail and I make it a point to not laugh at men’s jokes if they aren’t funny. I’ve had men even go, “I made a joke” and my response is, “Oh I know.” And change the subject.
