Figuring out what I want to accomplish with my life, in the short, medium, and long term, and figuring out a rational plan to achieve those things. Understanding that the only things worth worrying about are those over which I have some control in the first place. First, Bezos isn't hoarding cash somewhere keeping it from the rest of us. His net worth is so high because of the equity he has, it's impossible to redistribute that wealth because much of its value comes from the fact that he built it. The second is that while I don't think it would impact the naturally super driven people like Bezos, it would significantly impact the average person. You are correct in that there are genuine victims of other peoples actions. The key is to not fall into the psychological trap of considering yourself a victim in general. It becomes a sort of self fulfilling prophecy. I'm not sure what country you are from, so keep in mind this is my experience as an American, but I have more control of my life than anybody else in the entire world. The issue is that if you remove inheritance people will stop working to actually create wealth significantly. The number one motivation for many people is to create a better life for their children, remove that and you have a serious problem arise. It's another example of life not being fair, but we do have the ability to overcome that. People are simply born in different circumstances, nothing will ever change that. What I'm really curious about is how you chose that number. Would you adjust it for inflation each year? Would it depend on cost of living where the person is? My point is that anyone can arbitrarily define a certain amount of money as more than enough, but that's all you're really doing. I was very lucky to have some great role models in my life that taught me how to think, and live, independently. Conceptualizing yourself as a perpetual victim will only feedback on itself by preventing you from improving your circumstances because of the assumption of external control. Not including inheritance of course, but doing away with inherited wealth would cause a host of other issues.
