Ever see a picture of his eyes? It’s haunting

I agree with you, what I meant by ‘skill’ (which may not have been the most precise word for me to use) is that it’s possible to acquire, it’s possible to deepen your knowledge of yourself and others.

Asking the question is a good start. I think in many ways loving people for who they are is a skill

The point I was making was that it’s possible to love someone for who they are AND love them for what is transacted at the same time

My issue with what you said isn’t that I think love isn’t transactional to an extent, it’s that you seem to view love and transactional love as mutually exclusive. It’s been mathematically proven that it is inherently impossible for someone to be 100% altruistic, but that doesn’t mean that someone can’t be altruistic. In that same way, just because there’s a give-and-take expectation driving relationships doesn’t mean it’s absent of non-transactional love. Most people I know don’t really love th…

Yes! And it’s hard as fuck and you have to want to recognize the necessity first, but it’s possible. I think that’s just one of the many things we should be teaching kids in school

I mostly agree, but I think generally speaking with people who aren’t sociopaths, narcissism is more of a symptom of codependency than a genuine feeling of superiority. People draw their self-esteem from external approval to the point that a) it becomes their identity, and b) it becomes the only way for them to feel good about themselves - looking at their reflection in other people’s eyes. I agree it makes it hard to truly love other people, I’m coming to terms with that myself now and I’m doin…

Any time you quote a trash person like Rasputin in support of your take, you should consider the likelihood that your take is trash

I’m referring specifically to people that talk about how you’re supposed to be an asshole to women to get them to like you - people who say it, so subjective to them

It’s not more ‘woman-pleasing’ to be more willing to act on desperation. Do you know what these alpha males actually do that beta males don’t? It’s not being an asshole for asshole’s sake, it’s about focus being more on themselves than any other one individual. People who aren’t desperate need space and to not have the attention in them all the time. And women are still people - they don’t want compliments all the time, especially from people they don’t know or like. Also, most women I know adju…
