37	Thoughts on the "great conspiracy" to stop women from staying home My grandfather drove an oil truck for the teamsters. Grandma stayed at home. He had a home paid off and a multi-million dollar retirement. My mother didn't work outside the home. Married a mechanic. They live simply and get along OK due to social security. My sister and her husband both work full time with 4 kids, make $200k a year and are up to their eyeballs in debt.
