I guess the only thing that bothers me about this article is that the only way she gets charged is that she is making false allegations against police officers. I think the rub here is "basic necessities". I was paying $900 a month between child support and health insurance. I had to move back in with my parents to survive. At the time my paychecks after garnishment was around $200/week.

I wouldn't want to explain nuances because I don't feel like doing it on reddit. This is exactly how I feel. Isolated incidents or situations so rare that you need to clarify them are not something I really want to discuss. This poor fella is just the tip of the iceburg. Thousands of men are paying child support with no proof of paternity. The courts made it easy on themselves, as did welfare and DHS. Sadly, even if child support is legitimate DHS has a sliding scale that absolutely screws over many father's ability to pay.

What I find worse is if the guy is guilty, this girl is minimizing the actual victims. If the guy isn't guilty, she is labeling some poor guy that had false allegations against him for no reason other than to bring attention to herself. The biggest issue is people that turn to the internet for relationship advice. You have to be a bit unhinged to think strangers can fix your problems after reading a paragraph about your gripes. Reddit is slowly becoming a place of political censure either by mod intervention or down votes to the point of hiding comments. Very few people know that they are marrying crazy. In fact, divorce sometimes causes crazy. Find someone that is emotionally hurting and put them in a lawyer's office that promises to hurt the other person back financially and emotionally and you have a recipe for disaster. It is unconfirmed with the media because they refuse to release that information. If you read or watch the local news it is confirmed there. It is also confirmed with eyewitness accounts. I totally understand that line of thinking. The problem is like any other group - the people that yell that loudest seem to create the persona of the rest of the group even though they really aren't representative at all. There are women's issues that are legitimate and there are men's issues that are legitimate as well. I think seeing both sides is important. I agree with taking care of kids, but when you catapult someone from low income to above middle income standard of living that isn't looking after the kids.
