I think there’s a lot if good advice on here already. As a woman I just wanted to throw another tip out there. If you meet a girl you’re into, yes, let a conversation start about some topic that applies to you both or the situation before you try to ask her for a number or a date. Show interest in her life, thoughts, etc. When you are ready to ask the question and you start to clam up, just break the tension by telling her. I’ve done this before, but then end up either getting put or putting her in the friend zone. And I think that if your motives from the start are benign friends, then that is usually what happens. If you’re being honest with a woman, then isn’t it better to ask for their number or ask them out for a date, making your intentions clear to begin with ?
