“Other than effort level.”

Both sexes can use their hands, mouths, and toys on a partner. From a personal viewpoint, I would say that letting a man inside of you and dealing with the aftermath is a sacrifice and the least he can do is engage with your pleasure beyond just PIV.

I think there’s a huge flaw in your comparison. You’re arguing that women should stimulate their own clitorises, or Masturbate, during sex because men are also responsible for “stimulating themselves.” You’re directly comparing masturbation for women to PIV sex for men. Those things are completely different for reasons other than effort level.

At the risk of being downvoted, I’m going to elaborate and keep defending the racist’s right to bodily autonomy: I can’t pretend to know what it’s like to be racist. For all I know, a lot of them have mental health issues that make them think the way they do. What I do know, is when I see racist people freaking out, I can draw a lot of parallels between them and religious nutjobs. I can understand that they feel convicted in their beliefs to the point of emotional distress, and I understand that…

I disagree. Sex is incredibly sacred and personal and I can’t think of a single scenario where it’s morally wrong not to have sex with someone. As a straight woman, I can tell another woman: “I will never have sex with you, because I will never be attracted to you.” And that’s fine. If there’s any other group of people you will NEVER be attracted to, you NEVER have to have sex with them. You could make the argument that saying “I will NEVER be attracted to a black person” while having met very f…

I think a lot of people on PPD forget that women who go out to parties and bars and have a lot of sex are going to do exactly that, not sit and argue with people on Reddit. So you’re not really going to be able to debate with those types on here.

This doesn’t entirely account for the discrepancy, I’m just bringing up one facet of this issue. I would say that there’s a higher amount of women with endometriosis, PCOS, vaginismus, and other reproductive issues on Reddit compared to the general population. There are a lot of communities on here for women with these issues and I’ve noticed that a lot of people will join Reddit for one or two specific communities and then become active elsewhere. A lot of the women who are very vocal about pre…

The term “Gooning” first appeared in the Urban Dictionary on August 18, 2005. Here, it was defined as: “The act of a very addicted or chronic masturbator; getting so into masturbating, or jacking off, that the dude becomes a total goon; becomes stupid on his own cock. Can think of nothing else but busting a nut.” From this we learn that “Gooning” is NOT Gen-Z slang. The most accurate definition I’ve found is from December 20, 2006. This definition reads: “Well-known slang term in sexual subcultu…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/25 04:23 PM

“Temporarily pause masturbation to not climax too early to prolong masturbation.” That would be edging, I’m not sure when the two terms started being treated as synonyms. Gooning is a very prolonged edging session with the goal of reaching a trance-like state.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/04/25 04:09 PM

I’m not sure if OP is using the term correctly, but gooning actually =/= masturbation. To goon is to masturbate for hours on end, usually to increasingly “extreme” material, with the goal of reaching an almost hypnotic state. Which leads me to believe that OP might actually just be talking about masturbation, because gooning is inherently an unhealthy addictive behavior.

When I was younger, I thought that I would live my life alone and go for a high paying career. I thought marriage and kids sounded terrible because those are just more people you would have to share your money with. Back then, one million dollars would have sounded like a great deal. Now that I’ve met the love of my life? I would cut all of my fingers at the middle joint and use the bleeding nubs to pull every single hair out of my head if it meant I could keep him forever.

I would rather be single than in a bad relationship. This relationship would spiral into a bad relationship for me, because you can never know with 100% certainty that your partner is telling the truth. In this relationship, I would get hung up on his lack of a sex drive and convince myself that he likes my personality but he’s disgusted by my body, he relieves his sexual needs with some prostitute that looks nothing like me, or he’s addicted to weird porn. I’m able to be perfectly mentally soun…

Would you rather live in a society where everyone is rude to you and rejects you but refuses to explain WHY? Telling shallow people not to put preferences on their dating profile isn’t going to make them less shallow. There are always going to be hateful or insensitive people, I prefer that they advertise themselves. Edited for example: I was an ugly duckling during middle school. Like, a REALLY ugly duckling. And everyone told me to my face that there’s nothing wrong with me as a person, they j…

No job in twenty years, and her last crimes were grand theft auto and squatting. She’s also missing teeth. Two children from a previous relationship, that she refuses to raise or see. This describes a relative of mine and she somehow has a new normal boyfriend with a normal job every few months.

I’m of the belief that you can expect/demand a partner with any characteristics as long as you can accept the fact that you may never find somebody who is willing to be in a relationship with you. I absolutely don’t think this type of dynamic is a “need”, and I don’t think any type of romantic relationship is a need or a given. I think it’s something that can greatly improve the right person’s life, if they also find the right person. I also believe that there aren’t many principles you can appl…

My argument is on the basis that pregnancy often irreversibly changes the body and it can take months or years to recover depending on the person. We made the choice to fight against natural selection within our own species and there are a lot of extra strings that are attached to being pregnant and giving birth in the modern world.

I don’t think you should put all of your eggs in one basket. Note: “Otherwise equal.” You can have a dynamic where both partners work, but one always pays for dinner dates. Or buys their partner extravagant birthday gifts every year. Or buys fresh flowers every month. Or agrees to do all of the dirty work around the house. You can be equal partners who figure out finances together, and still budget to fulfill adolescent fantasies of being treated like a princess by the man you love from time to …

This isn’t a full-baked argument, nor is it necessarily what I believe, I’m throwing it out so that I can receive criticism and try to expand upon it: Nothing a man has to do in the relationship will compare to the sheer burden of pregnancy and childbirth, which is why it’s fair for otherwise equal women to seek out male partners who will take on other burdens.

I think you’re making a lot of logical stretches and I would encourage you to look inside of yourself for any fears or past experiences that may be causing a bias. “Anecdotally speaking” you “know” that “most” women do not feel deep loyalty to their partners because people post about being broken up with on a breakup subreddit. Individuals who post on Reddit are already a small portion of the population, and from there I’m sure you understand that breakup stories are often one sided and may excl…

I would stay with my current partner for two reasons. One, I have a conscience. Two, it’s in my own best interest. Even if this other individual is “objectively better” than my current partner, my partner has invested so much into our current relationship and I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night if I just replaced him. Not to mention the fact that I’m in love with him and I think about him all of the time. He would have to do something terrible to get me to just up and forget about him. I’ve alr…

I’m pretty sure that a lot of these comments are referring to traditionalist women who were raised in highly conservative social circles. In that case it’s a personality and lifestyle issue, not a policy issue.

Do you have any statistics to prove this? Anecdotes can only take us so far, but I have seen this dynamic A LOT more often than I have seen someone with red hair or someone with green eyes. So “incredibly” rare seems like a stretch.

Yes. I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, which includes eccentric behavior so I know that my thought process might be different than others, but “a man who has no sexual experience and seems to genuinely have trouble talking to other women” would have described my partner perfectly when I met him and he is my dream man. Edited to elaborate further because why not?: I don’t subscribe to the ideology that your male partner should have “high social value” or whatever. I do think sexual val…

I can’t answer for every woman, and I’ve never been in the position to fall in love with a bisexual man so I’m not sure I WOULD be opposed to it, but the first thing that comes to mind is the fear that I might never be able to fully fulfill his desires. However, it might be important to know that my partner and I have loved eachother for five years and I regularly freak out about the thought of losing him and entering a relationship with somebody more experienced, which 100% influenced my answer…

Okay, can I ask why paying for the food should be obvious? Your argument seems disingenuous for this one reason: Societally, for a VERY VERY long time, it’s been the “norm” that men pay on the first date. If you were making the argument that you want to squash this expectation, that would make sense. But you’re being willfully obtuse by pretending not to know why women go on dates with the mindset that the man might pay. And that makes me feel like you never intended to follow the norms of a res…

I feel like I did not see anyone make that assumption. It isn’t about freedom. It’s about the fact that, between the lesbian community, the straight community, and the gay community, gay men create more spaces and opportunities that allow for No Strings Attached sex. See: “more likely to cheat” at the top of the thread vs. your comment stating “ARE going to cheat.” I will PayPal you $1 if you can find me somebody else in this thread saying that bi men ARE going to cheat.

I’m just confused about what upholding the patriarchy has to do with your personal preferences. I’m not even trying to disagree with you, I’m just incredibly CONFUSED by a lot of the points on this thread. From my point of view, it seems like treating bisexual men as lesser than, cutting them out of your social circles, being openly rude to them, etc. is 100% influenced by our tendency to uphold the patriarchy. So I guess I’m just stuck on: How is cutting out men who don’t meet YOUR standards mi…

I’m confused, are you saying it should be fine to cheat on your partner as long as you’re “living out [your] sexuality the way that feels natural to [you]?” I’m genuinely so confused about the point of your comment.

I’m a woman. I would prefer to never date a bi man again. Here’s something I can admit that others might be hesitant to: I’m intensely insecure and I have abandonment issues. I do my best to manage myself but dating somebody who could potentially leave me for a man OR a woman was just triggering for me in a way I didn’t expect it to be. I’d bet $5 that somebody out there feels the same way I do.

Okay, so it seems like you ignored what I said. I acknowledged that YOU aren’t talking about rape or other violence, and then I told you why I AM talking about rape and other violence. Because being lusted after, for many women, has an immediate mental association of rape and violence. Because rape and sexual violence are direct consequences of being lusted over. I’m struggling to see how your argument could possibly be sound if you’re asking everybody who responds to you to just gloss over this…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 06:29 PM

I think this is a very apt comparison. For a woman, having a lot of “free” sex will lead to future partners devaluing her, women slutshaming her, and possibly mental health issues once she processes how many people got to see her at her most vulnerable. It might, in rarer cases, lead to her getting murdered by a sketchy ONS or contracting an STD. Free McDonald’s might sound great to someone who’s starving, but McDonald’s is chock full of low quality ingredients, seed oils, and lazy employees. If…
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/25 06:02 PM

You aren’t talking about rape because it isn’t a pressing issue in your life. Women immediately bring up rape when this topic comes up because it is a VERY pressing issue for us, and it’s a direct consequence of being the gender men lust after. To elaborate further, “most men” shouldn’t even be a factor here. It’s about most women. If one man rapes twenty women, and those twenty women go on to become fearful and resentful of sex, spouting; “But the other nineteen men didn’t rape you!!!” won’t ch…

You obviously don’t have to answer, and I’m not asking this question to try to create a “gotcha” moment or start an argument, it’s just a question I like hearing different answers to. What would you consider women “holding up their end of the deal” when it comes to traditional roles in the context of how our world is set up now?

I think I understand now. To respond, I want to touch on the whole status quo thing before I get back to the fear aspect. I agree that one reason these lies are upheld is because nobody wants to, for lack of better words, encourage undesirable men to lash out. I’d also argue that a lot of women, at least in the circles I’ve been in throughout my life, don’t want to acknowledge it because they feel kind of bad. Now that I think about it I don’t remember a single time this came up when there was a…

Could you give a more specific example? I still don’t quite understand what you’re saying. If you’re talking about walking through an alleyway or something, for example, I think I’d be more afraid of a “desirable” man because a lot of “desirable” male traits correlate with physical strength.

Six comments down from this one in my Reddit history, it begins with “I don’t know how to do the Reddit quote thing.”

This is why people are getting frustrated with you. The comment where I quoted you wasn’t RIGHT in front of you so you decided it doesn’t exist. Take a moment and look at your notifications or even my comment history and you’ll see that you walked away from our discussion.

I don’t know how to do the Reddit quote thing, but what you said, in response to the statement; “A man raping a woman is illegal”, was: “The equivalent would be relationship tricking a man and constantly asking him for money.” My argument is that no, the equivalent to rape (forcefully taking sex from a woman) would be robbery (forcefully taking money from a man.) I also believe that the equivalent to “relationship tricking a man and constantly asking him for money” is staying with a woman, denyi…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 05:54 PM

You also SPECIFICALLY said in another comment that men raping women is, your words, “equivalent” to women gold digging men. I would say these are both equivalently ridiculous statements.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 05:45 PM

Okay. You just said they were equivalent, I made an effort to debunk that, now you’re trying to say you didn’t say that or that wasn’t the point. You said women are allowed to use their natural advantages immorally but have failed to give an example with which you can actually stay on topic. I’m starting to think you are arguing in bad faith.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 05:30 PM

I can agree with that. If you do that in a debate subreddit, however, bad actors can and will try to make you out to be a horrible person. That’s true for any debate sub and I think it has little to do with the sex of the complainer.
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 05:26 PM

What argument are you making here? I understand the statement, “If the use of natural advantages is justified, then it is. If it’s not, then it’s not.” but what do you want to do with that statement? It’s true that women have a natural advantage when it comes to attraction. It’s true that men have a natural advantage with strength. The only example of men using their natural advantages you have listed is the elimination of women’s rights. I don’t believe that you’re actually advocating for the e…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 05:20 PM

Okay…. Do you understand that there are different types of harm and they can’t all just be compared to eachother? I feel like the obvious comparison between that type of abusive relationship would be ANOTHER abusive relationship, and I already made that comparison. A gold digging relationship happens over the course of a few months or years and both individuals technically have the choice to leave at any time. A relationship where an attractive man cheats on a woman and manipulates her for sex h…

Okay, what does let men complain mean? Because there are plenty of spaces for men to complain. But if you choose to come to an online space full of women to complain about a problem you KNOW they aren’t going to be able to understand, it kind of sounds like you’re asking for the attention of bad actors. I learned early to stop telling my dad that I didnt want to go to school because of my period, because he went to work and provided for us even after he broke his foot and he has no way to know w…
/r/PurplePillDebate30/01/25 05:11 PM

I feel like this exchange proves that, if we’re speaking on a societal/legal basis, women ARE held to similar standards. An attractive woman might be able to manipulate a man into spending money on her. An attractive man might be able to manipulate a woman into having sex with him. Some people frown upon these things, but others celebrate them and neither act is illegal. A man raping a woman is illegal. A woman disarming a man with her good looks and then stealing his wallet is illegal.

Honestly, a lot of the people here probably know deep down that they’re arguing in bad faith. As a woman, what I’m seeing a lot of in this thread is other women with a very specific emotional wound getting defensive and not being able to understand that this doesn’t apply to them. Particularly in highschool and college, most young women will meet at least one man who can’t take no for an answer. For me, the man that comes to mind flat out said “I know you told me not to talk to you buuuuut…” eve…

That’s my point. People can and should expect a partner who loves them to be willing to compromise. Mature adults can compromise. But plenty of people are immature. So, if your partner is refusing to compromise (in the context of the post, calling you controlling instead of just changing her wardrobe), they probably don’t love you as much as you thought they did and there’s not much you can do to change that. Go find someone who will compromise instead of fixating on what someone who doesn’t res…

I agree with that, but you should be able to agree that there are people in this world who only think about themselves. If you’ve ever had a loved one who falls into that category you’ll know how difficult or even impossible it is to get them to compromise. My point was about agency at its core, you’re not going to be able to force certain people to change and at some point you’re the doofus if you keep complaining and letting them drain your energy. Some men are always going to cheat, you can’t…

Alright, I’m just confused about what your overall point is here since your comments have kind of spread out in a few different directions. Which makes sense in a debate, but anyways. So is the point of your post just that we should acknowledge that this is a weird and manipulative dynamic instead of denying the existence of it? I guess I’m just curious if you think anyone should take broader action AGAINST the friend zone dynamic, or if we’re just acknowledging that it exists.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 06:26 PM

What do you think would improve this mindset?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 05:43 PM

I’m not giving license to anything. I’m saying that we should encourage people to show their true colors and react to that accordingly instead of trying to force people who we think are immoral to change. And obviously trying to facilitate positive change for your fellow man can be good, but a new relationship isn’t really the place to do it.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/01/25 05:41 PM
3

So would you agree that, if you suspect that the friend-zone is a manipulation tactic, you should face that head on and reject those potentially manipulative actions by not trying to win her over?

I’m pretty sure the point is that anyone can do whatever they want, and it’s up to the individual to decide whether they want that behavior in their life or not. So 100%, he can do that. He has the freedom to do that. However, his girlfriend would then have the freedom to break up with him. What would make the girlfriend “wrong” in this situation is if she stayed with him just to fight all of the time and try to change him, rather than accepting that getting with a super flirty guy was a poor de…
