I've heard that men and women have the same mean IQ but men have a slightly larger variance. This means a few extra very smart men and also a few extra very dumb men. A theory for the mechanism is that women have two X chromosomes but men have only one, and the Y chromosome doesn't really do anything. Is there a credible link for this data? I find it kind of hard to believe. Other sources say that women like men to be about 5 inches taller, whereas this seems to suggest they want a guy who's a foot or more taller than they are.

I think we agree that we should pursue ethical means of eugenics (and that is what we're talking about here) but avoid the unethical ones. I'd say the least controversial thing to do is what I'd call non-coercive eugenics, which would be efforts by the govt to make sure people have education about, access to, and incentive to use contraception. There is nothing wrong with IIFYM's math. Since there are 4 calories per gram of carbs, 4 calories per gram of protein and 9 calories per gram of fat the number of calories obtained from eating what they suggest is: 87.5 * 4 + 122.5 * 4 + 62.2 * 9 = 1399.8

If you want to gain muscle you need to lift weights. This program is usually suggested on /r/gainit. Throw in some cardio to burn extra calories just don't do it immediately before lifting. Since you're pretty out of shape as it is you don't need to bulk/cut, you can get stronger and lose weight at the same time.

Actually the 98% figure is for a year. For every hundred couples that have sex using condoms (correctly, every time) for a year there will be two pregnancies.

Well...I guess I'm glad that on angry feminist agrees...not that it changes the law at all. I think the problem is that all the pro lifers and more than half of the pro choice crowd are in favor of child support so we're never really going to get a law passed. Effective male birth control is the best we can hope for.

Even with perfect use condoms are not 'highly effective.' The 98% figure is for 1 year. Say you're sexually active for 15 years. Odds of having 0 unplanned pregnancies is 0.9815 = 0.739.

The article didn't really mention contraception but I think this is an important point. Men only have access to condoms, which are not highly effective means of birth control. When safe and effective male birth control comes along it still won't be fair but at least we men will have a way to protect ourselves from this.
