I will honestly never be able to understand that, but maybe some cheaters have the same viewpoint and dont think what they're doing us wrong. It's crazy to think about, but maybe that's something that has to be talked about as a relationship begins

A moment of weakness is getting angry, saying something stupid, along those lines. Pulling down your pants and fucking someone requires more than just a "spoke before I thought" mistake. I don't think expecting people don't consciously fuck someone is being a perfectionist, it's expecting that the other person is reasonable. If I were married two years and the other person cheated, then it's over just like that.

Because you don't want to be with someone who lies to you and goes behind your back? If its not an "open relationship", then that's what cheating is and that person is not worth your time.

I never thought about it that way. I guess I'd hope that I could catch that behavior early. I was cheated on once, and in a relationship that only lasted half a year. It gave me a shitload of trust issues. Now I hear of wives of 5+ years slutting around and it enrages me beyond comprehension. I'd hope that you'd be able to judge based on their feelings about them being cheated on, if it was "no big deal" or actually had an effect on them. Unfortunately it is a mixed bag. That's so depressing to hear. I mean, you SHOULD be able to get married. If there's such a high rate of cheating wives at home, what does that say about the average woman in the US? That they are very highly prone to cheating if you're gone for a little bit and don't hold their hand and watch them? I've wondered before if the the only safe way to go is to find someone else who's been hurt by cheating, because only they'll know the kind of pain it causes and most, most, most likely wouldn't do it…
