We have a long list here of hobbies and interests that are all done by the men in this group. We can officially designate them as masculine pursuits, as someone pointed out, being unapologetically yourself is the most masculine you can be.

Yes! I did that for 10 years. Took a lot of flak from a lot of people but I have the best son in the world for it. Now I'm back at work because I wanted a new adventure, and I'm a better person than I was thanks to my experience of fatherhood.

People are objects. And people also have their own agency, personality and right to be respected for their wishes. Objectification is when we forget or choose to ignore that second sentence and instead use a person for our own purposes with disregard for them as an individual. I drive a car how I want, I owe it no respect, when it no longer serves my purpose I junk it. This is how some people treat other human beings. With no regard for them as a person, only the attributes they can utilise.

Toxic masculinity as others have pointed out, is a slur and a negative way of describing something which any human can and probably does fall prey to. Labelling. There is no way that a man must behave, or a woman must behave, or a child for that matter. When we say things like 'thats not very manly' or 'your wife wears the trousers in your house' we are deciding how certain genders or 'types' of people should behave. What we are really describing here is bigotry, and to call it toxic masculinity…

The Taliban seem to favour men's rights over women's, it's the talking point because removing women's rights is a hot topic in the west, whereas the fascist shit that they are doing is a little too close to the values of the conservative governments we currently enjoy.

Being bitter etc is just the way some people are, I do not believe it to be productive but we feel the way we feel.

Maybe because some posters on here come off a little bitter/insecure/mysoginistic. Coupled with societies bent towards ridiculing any man who isn't 100% confident and self assured instead of supporting them.

My wife earned more than me when we had our kid, so I gave up work and became the stay at home dad. I got grief all the time, looked down upon as lazy or effeminate or pathetic. 10 years have gone by and I am starting work again. The pressure that comes from people to conform to their idea of normal is pretty huge, but I look at my son who had his dad there every day, teaching him and loving him and I know that what we chose was right for us. The shit that people do and get rewarded for by socie…

The other week I was in the pub with some new friends (began an improv class). There were 3 women and 3 other men, one woman had just been left by her boyfriend. The whole night was her and the other women talking about how emotionally empty men are, how useless and pathetic they are. One of the men joined in saying all men are bastards. The icing on the cake? The women said these things whilst constantly stroking my thighs and biceps. I know, my fault for keeping in shape, if I didn't want to b…

So does anyone have a list of men's groups that still exist on here? I am always looking for a good space that isn't full of bros giving Uber masculine 'advice'.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
