"Trial seperations" exist so they can have a hall pass to have sex with other people. The fact your wife mentioned a year! seperation is laughable. Please don't let her string you along for a year while she's matching on tinder. (Yes, my ex stringed me along for like 6 months while enjoying tinder and clubbing) Yes, the crocodile tears are fake, no she doesn't need " time to heal ". If she wants the divorce, give it to her. Pull a uno reverse and file first.

I work with a gal that divorced her 2nd husband. She's with a guy now. Talked to the 2nd husband in WhatsApp for a day, then he hit her with the "i miss you". She showed her friends then blocked him. Don't be that guy. How humiliating.

If I were you I'd delete reddit. Constantly telling reddit your life is over and you'll never get better isnt helping you.

FWIW, I knew my ex two years before we even dated, so not like some internet thing. But she left a few weeks after we got her greencard. Came home and I thought we had been robbed. I never saw her again. It was horrific. But it does get better.

This assumes a good faith approach from them. And i just don't think that's what happening with the vast majority of women divorcing. I just don't. Its boredom mostly. These woman aren't racking their brains on why things went south lol. Their excited to get back on tinder. Huge bonus If they're in a house post-divorce and have their tinder weekend coming up.

Subsequent marriages have higher divorce rates than first ones. The game never ends.

Read about Gray Rock and start practicing it. A common one is the exes will wear their APs clothing in the morning when the guys are picking up the kids. Gray rock.

Yes. The butterflies will always end eventually. Men (generally) seem to know this from the get-go. As an LCSW, women figure it out too. Either they figure it out in their marriage and are self-aware enough to not want to divorce over it. Orrrr...they figure it out after the 2nd or 3rd marriage has also become dull and they realize they're not 30 anymore. At least from my experience.

Oh i get it. Sounds like its still pretty knew. " I would prefer to be happy with you, but I can be happy without you too". Even though (as referenced above) my happiness hasn't returned to previous levels, I have zero doubt it can, I don't need her for that. You'll say the same sooner than you think.

It took me...18 months or so before I stopped missing her. I miss how I felt before the fucking train wreck of divorce, the aftermath of all that. But I no longer miss her. You'll get there too.

Sounds like manipulation. Who knows if she actually feels that way or not. Do you have kids? Could be buttering you up

I'm an LCSW. Marriage is an at-will situation for a lot of women. Like whatever number you think that is, double it. I've talked to women that knew during the engagement they'd divorce him later. It's all academic to them. A decent chunk see divorce as a rite of passage.

There is some evidence That divorce is actually worse. In more ways than one. One study showed kids did worse in school after divorce than a parent dying Divorce (if you don't want it) is very much like the death of a spouse. Loss of friendship, love, sex, companionship with that person...forever. Just like death. Plus the added bonus (i say that sarcastically) of incredibly bitter feelings of betrayal (for ending the marriage) and jealousy, that can l last for years. Or years and years of anger…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
