You see, I don't get this. I'm always called a 'Nice Guy' but I don't do any of those bullet points. And you can ask most of my friends, family members and coworkers. I tried OKC for about 3 months. I was doing it passively though. I got a date out of it...and she turned out to be a bit much. She eventually texted me all crazy. For guys getting the number shows confidence but also the intention of continuing a conversation or getting to know her a bit more through a date...or probably just to hookup if that is a mutual understanding. Honestly, if she doesn't want to give up her number then she isn't that interested, if you give your number she still won't call, and that's the bottom line.

Your friend probably just wasn't good at it, obviously, if girls thought he was weird. If you do the things you love to do then you will find girls that also love that things you do. Also try new things. For example, 2 years ago I finally decided to learn social and ballroom dancing, and let me tell you...there are a lot of ladies into that.
