I love compliments from gay men lol

It really depends on your age. In my friend circle where most people met in college, 5-7 years from dating to engagement isn't uncommon, but I think COVID affected things too. In general 3-5 years before engagement is pretty reasonable. And then 1-2 years engaged. But if you meet in your late 20s or 30s the timeline can definitely be shorter. My fiance and I got engaged after 6ish years.

Yeah I'm a bi woman and I find this logic a little strange. I'm more femme/sub (I guess) if you want to call it that, and (back when I was dating) regardless of whether I was with a man or woman, I would offer to split 50/50, treat the other person, or whatever. I appreciate if the other person pays, but I usually try to offer to pay the next time or get dessert or drinks. And it has zero bearing on my own sense of femininity. I also wouldn't consider the guy or girl I'm with emasculine if they …

4B is a pretty radical feminist movement. In the US as a young woman from a pretty liberal part of the country, I rarely see any women who follow radical feminist ideals. Most women I know are more aligned with the views of liberal feminism. But I have heard that among Gen-Z radical feminist views are rising amongst a small but growing minority. I don't really see the full extent of 4B taking root here but those rad fem values are definitely going to be popular amongst some women who feel that l…

Some people are straight up just bored. Others like attention. I love drama when it doesn't involve me. My life is very boring and that's the way I like it, but I live for other people's drama. But some people like to be in the thick of it. It makes them feel important or special. And some people straight up are just bored of life and like to make things more exciting. There are also people who don't know how to have healthy relationships or who have habits (drinking, drugs) that make it worse. …

Reminder that Zoomers were the COVID generation. They couldn't even see their friends or go to school let alone date and have sex. My cousins who are that age all have no dating experience because they spent some of their "prime years" locked at home. Now they're behind in those social experiences and a lot of them prefer to just stay home gaming and hanging out on Discord than going out.

I mean you do you, but this sounds awful to me. Motivating myself for work every day is hard enough but if my relationship becomes work #2 when will I ever get a break? I'm an introvert. I don't want to force myself to be with people (including friends) who I don't really enjoy being with. Even with friends I can get tired sometimes. My partner is my reprieve from everything and everyone else. He's my oasis in the desert. And together we survive everything else life gives us.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/23 06:44 PM

No? These women had normal dating experiences before dating an older guy. Then had a LTR with an older guy for a period of time. Then broke up with him. I didn't realize dating a single older man for 1-4 years is considered a ho phase.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/23 01:36 AM

If the guys just wanted sex that was never the issue. They wanted to get married and have kids. They were the ones who pushed it beyond just sex and dating.

Every girl I knew in college who dated an older guy ended up dumping him. It was the same pattern each time: Girl's high school boyfriend was really immature so when she went to college she became attracted to a more mature guy. They date for a year or two but he very soon starts wanting to settle down, get married, and have kids. He tries to make her fit into his life plans. She refuses. She dumps him. She starts dating someone her age instead. And they turn out to be a much better fit. I saw t…

I don't see it as ass-kissing. If I see that someone got a haircut or has a cute outfit on I'll tell them. I've told random strangers this because I just want them to know that I liked what they chose to wear or do. I like fashion and stuff like that. It doesn't matter if I'll never see that person again. I give both men and women compliments or shout outs. Like if I'm out and I see a guy wearing a tshirt for a band I like I'll let him know. If a male friend gets a haircut I'm often the first to…

Some women do. I'm very good at reading people in general. I've always been always to identify shady girls even when everyone thinks they're sweet and nice. My gaydar is supposedly very accurate. And I'm pretty good at sensing weirdos, male or female (believe me I've met those too).

I'm actually gonna go with disagree. I've been pretty good at judging whether I'll get along with someone upon first meeting or early interactions. Almost all my closest friendships are people who I vibed with immediately. For my partner we met via OLD and from our first messages to each other I knew we'd get along well. And when we met it solidified it. I had been on plenty of other dates with people in the past and after the first or second it was easy to tell things weren't working out. Month…

I love giving and receiving gifts. I grew up in a family where I was usually just given money and while that's nice it lacks sentimentality (I don't have anything from childhood that my parents gave me). So I appreciate that my partner comes from a family that really puts effort into thinking about what everyone would like. I love all kinds of gifts my partner gives me from jewelry to plushies to concert tickets. My favorite might have to be when he got me the IKEA BLÅHAJ shark plushie (sharks a…

Like I said below to another person I'm someone who has only ever been with one person. So for me they're the same person. It's not playing dumb. I genuinely don't get it.

No problem. I'm on here because I genuinely like to hear what other people think, and I offer my perspective when I think it's different from others' experience. I used the term "cock carousel" as a shorthand since you mentioned women and the "truly hot guys [they've] fucked before" not because you actually used that term. And yeah I've never met anyone so hot that I wanted to take off my pants then and there. For the record I'm bisexual and I've met plenty of very very attractive people in life…

Mostly just that I don't understand the idea that "relationship material" means a woman doesn't find a man lust-worthy as well. And I really don't know many women who are "cock-hungry sluts" or who have ridden the "cock carousel." I don't think you're wrong for saying I'm not thinking in terms of how "men measure success" as you say, but I guess I also don't know many men who actually measure success that way themselves. Honestly it wasn't until I came to PPD that I even found out some men found…

Genuinely asking but how many guys are being told they're relationship material without also being considered fun to be around? If I find a guy relationship material it means they can probably cook and wouldn't be embarassing to introduce to friends and family, but I also definitely want to bang him. Regularly.

I know people hate this answer but the answer is still OLD. Most couples I know either met in college or on OLD. Work isn't uncommon either, but they're usually similar age and positions. Everyone else is via friends (not from the same school or job), where groups collide. And I've known a few people who met partners via MMOs.

I'm friends with a lot of people who like anime but not all of them want to watch the niche shows I like. Not all of them will go see a metal concert with me. And even fewer of those will tolerate me blasting Taylor Swift while we cook a multi course dinner for no reason other than we felt like it. I have a lot of friends with similar surface interests as me, but personality is a lot deeper than that. I would divorce him on the grounds that he didn't tell me he's been married multiple times before. Before everything else you wrote, that by itself is enough. If he couldn't trust me to tell me that about himself prior to us marrying (and it sounds like maybe even after marrying - since you had to "find out") then things were never going to work to begin with.

Women tend to be very attentive to physical and social cues. Rather than verbally asking for permission I think many women use body language to indicate these things, so verbally asking can seem a bit awkward

Thank you! It took a while to figure out the right balance. It's kind of funny but our sex life actually improved after moving into his parents' house, because now whenever we're home alone it's like "Go! Go! Go!" and we tend to plan a bit better. Whereas in the past when it was just us two it was so easy to say "ah look how late it is (after bingewatching something on Netflix) we'll just do things tomorrow" but the cycle keeps repeating.

My ideal frequence is 4x/week but practically probably 3x/week. For him it's probably more like 2x/week but he's the kind of person to get too tired to do things or he'll be busy gaming and then it gets too late. Sex is less of a priority. If we're doing things he definitely services me quite a bit, but if he's not in the mood there's a quiet understanding that I have toys and I like to use them. We usually do things about 2x a week, though it depends on how busy we are, period (not into period …

I'm a woman who has a higher libido than her male partner. It can be frustraring at times, not going to lie, and it was especially tough when we first moved in together. But this is my person and I love him so rather than make it a reason to leave we talked about reasonable expectations and what we could do to make sure both of us were happy. It took a lot of time, discussing, planning, and worked through it, but 5+ years into our relationship our sex life is actually the best it's ever been. Se…

I know a girl who had an AI chatbot become her favorite anime character and she got to date him. Apparently he dumped her or something though. I wish I was joking.

I started learning around middle school I think, maybe late elementary. I have an older sister and she was interested in cooking so we would watch a lot of Food Network and would try cooking things our parents and relatives didn't make. We're Asian so our family mostly cooked Chinese and Viet dishes, but if we wanted other stuff we kind of had to figure things out ourselves (though my parents helped). Like we wanted more traditional Thanksgiving dishes so we looked up recipes for mashed potatoes…

I'm not a particularly attractive woman and I have not gotten much attention from guys or men in the past, but men are still plenty nice to me even if there are much more attractive women around. I've even been with female friends who are way more attractive than me but I still get treated nicely. Why? Because I have a really pleasant demeanor and friendly attitude. Nah I like guys who aren't just one note. My bf likes rock and metal and plays guitar, but is also a geeky gamer guy who watches anime. At the same time, I like that he can dress up for nice occasions and not just look "schlubby" and we can travel and go to museums together.

If you never make the first move doesn't that mean that the women who are willing to make the first move for you actively want to bang you? Not saying this as a negative thing (good for you) but just mentioning this because a lot of women don't have the courage to make the first move, or believe it's not their job to, even if they're attracted to a guy. They might find you cute or interesting but aren't desperate to get in your pants immediately.

How do you define hookup? In my experience girls will kiss or makeout with you on the first date if they're attracted to you, unless they're really inexperienced and shy, but a lot of women I know won't have sex on the first date because 1) safety. They don't want to bring a stranger home or go to a stranger's place on a first date. 2) they might not be on BC and don't trust condoms to be sufficient 3) it's their first time 4) it's a personal policy to not "put out" that quick
/r/PurplePillDebate28/09/23 05:28 AM

I'm attracted to both. I would choose men because it was really tough trying to find women to date. I knew a lot of queer women but none were my type and I wasn't theirs.

Honestly I feel like I'm seeing a lot of swing back in terms of the value of SAHMs these days. Childcare is so expensive that a lot of my very educated friends are in agreement if they have kids one of the parents (not always the woman) will probably be at least a part-time SAHP. Also I feel like people respect nurses way more these days than they used to. And I see a lot of male nurses actually.

I'm a girl who likes anime and who knows sooooooo many girls who like anime. Rather than trying to convince someone who doesn't like something to get into it people should just aim to find someone who shares at least somewhat overlapping interests if that matters to you. When my bf went into the office I used to make him cute bentos when I could, but it made more sense to have leftovers as lunch because we don't like wasting food. He loves cooking though so we usually cook together. My way of doting on him is baking things like cookies and cupcakes since he has a sweet tooth. I love to treat my bf but we still split housework fairly evenly because we also both have fulltime jobs. It's possible to dote on your partner without having a massive labor inbalance.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/09/23 03:54 PM

Nice walkable cities are great. I used to live in Japan where trains are clean (but crowded) and there aren't drug users on them. It was nice taking trains and subway everywhere. But where I live now I absolutely hate taking public transit.

Do you not know men who cook or clean or do chores? My bf cooks just as much as me. My dad and mom both cook and clean. My bf's dad cooks while his mom cleans. While women do in fact often do more household work that's not the case with everyone. There are plenty of men who have no issue cooking and cleaning. And at the end of the day companionship with a partner is very different than with friends. I love my friends to death but none of them can replace my partner.

As a girl who has helped multiple male friends set up dating profiles I can definitely say that some guys suck at choosing good pictures of themselves. One of my friends isn't unattractive whatsoever, but his picture choices were genuinely god-awful. /r/PurplePillDebate23/09/23 04:44 PM

Of course. It's a compatibility issue and a difference in values. If the genders were reversed it'd be the same. And I would assume most people want to find a partner who shares their views on relationships and marriage, otherwise they're wasting their time.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/23 04:02 PM

It depends on the couple. As long as you and your partner are in agreement it's fine. I know some people in relationships who do, but my partner and I aren't really interested in it. We'd rather travel together than solo or with friends (without each other).
/r/PurplePillDebate23/09/23 01:18 AM

Yeah it definitely depends on what kind of culture and community you're in. And also age group.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 09:07 PM

I feel like that strategy operates under the assumption that the guy visibly shows he wants it but the girl holds him at arms length but he is interested enough to not be pushed away. I think it only works if the girl is a major catch and the guy continues to show romantic and even sexual interest, while simultaneously being patient and understanding. I can't say I've actually seen this strategy work out for any girls I know. I'm used to people saying they're not ready for sex until a few dates …
/r/PurplePillDebate22/09/23 08:41 PM

It's hard to say because I'm not and have never been pregnant but I want to say it's okay to not be comfortable with having sex with your partner when they're pregnant. It's kind of intimidating knowing that your actions could affect her and the baby's safety. And the body IS different when visibly pregnant and not everyone is turned on by the sight of their pregnant partner. What I will say though is that I think a couple should discuss what their plan regarding sex will be when pregnant (maybe…

For women: thigh highs 🤤 I also like to wear them myself. As a lingerie collector, I think there's a lot of great stuff. Lacey stuff with lots of straps are fun. But tbh I'm more attracted to more masculine women so I guess I'd describe my taste as butch Kristen Stewart lately. For men: it really depends on the person. I feel like every girl I knew who dated an older guy had really immature exes, so they decided to go older because they found older guys more mature. But none of these relationships ended up lasting because eventually all the guys started wanting to get married, settle down, and have kids while my female friends were still in their early mid twenties. And then once we left college the girls started meeting guys who weren't their immature high school bf.

Make good friends and be careful with drinking. Always have a new drink from a can or bottle, not something out of a bowl or shared vessel. Don't leave drinks unattended. I mean I'm in a happy LTR now. It's not like either of us are perfect, so of course there are faults and traits we have to accept about the other person, and things we have to work through occasionally, but if we go by OP's definition of settling = choosing your 2nd choice because you can't have your 1st, that's not an issue for me. I'm with my 1st choice.

Nope. I'm very very much not neurodivergent. I have very deep connections with friends and I have no problem socializing. I just never found anyone I really "liked" in a romantic sense. This. Women who do that, just like men who do it, are trying to isolate their partners. I love spending time with my bf but I want him to have friends and maintain his male friendships. It's about striking a balance between the two. Some of his male friends are in relationships so sometimes we gather as groups with partners, but I also encourage him to hangout with friends and family solo.

I met my bf on Tinder. We are both introverts who spend most of our time just hanging out and playing video games. We do go to concerts together occasionally though.

I've met plenty of attractive people in life, male and female (I'm bi) but I didn't understand the "spark" until I met my bf. And honestly it wasn't his physical appearance so much as it was our emotional connection. We met on Tinder and even though we were just texting I had never felt so excited to talk with someone in my life. It was like "I want to talk to this person forever." And when we met in person, I did find him attractive, but it's not like he's the hottest person I've ever encounter…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/23 05:48 PM

Was able to get tickets this weekend for a concert I knew my bf would want to go to. We didn't previously know about it, but I suddenly came across an email saying tickets were on sale. It took almost an hour but I was able to successfully snag them and seeing him so excited when I told him about it was worth every second.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/23 05:45 PM

None of my friends are dating controlling guys. All of us are dating "betas" in a sense and the girls definitely run the relationship. The girls are always the ones making the plans, making the decisions, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/09/23 05:40 PM

Nope. I've worked jobs with people my age who I was besties with, but after leaving the friendship fizzled. Now I work a job where everyone is older than me and busy with their families etc. We get along great and I can rely on them, but at the end of the day we all have our own lives and friendships and I think that's great.

I'm an Asian girl. In my opinion, what you did is good. Escalating the situation could be dangerous. I want my bf to stand between me and the guy and walk close to me so I feel safer. If the guy is just a rude dick in a bar maybe it'd be nice if my bf called him out, but weird people yelling in the street I just avoid. But in the bar situation I would probably be the one to chew the guy out first, since my bf is less confrontational than me.

Depends on why I guess. When I met my bf I was a student and he was applying for grad school while working a part time job. I now make less than him but while I've been at my current job, he's changed jobs a few times due to layoffs, been unemployed, been in grad school, etc. I knew he still had goals and ambitions and that these were just things that happened. I would prefer that my partner makes the same or more than me because it's not like I make that much money anyway and I live in a high C…

I used to live in Japan and face masks there are a must have during allergy season. People would look at me weird in springtime here for wearing them but I'm happy now it's more common to see them. Masks also mean I only have to put on eye makeup.

I was a virgin when I met my now bf. I would choose 2. My bf had a little bit of experience but not a lot. We've talked before and even he said he wishes I was his first. But honestly we were able to explore and try a lot of things together anyway. 2 would definitely be my pick.

Eh I have two friends (guy and girl) who were (are?) both virgins and are over 25. They recently started dating and it's really nice both of them have similar levels (or lack of) experience. They'rr able to relate to one another and explore that stuff together now. I'm glad neither of them had a ONS or hired an escort just to lose their virginity because it's embarassing or whatever.

Where are you encountering couples and guys like this?? My bf is a gamer and all of my male friends are gamers, most of whom have gfs. It really depends on the hobby. I know people who fish as a hobby and maybe go once a month or even less depending on the season. Meanwhile people who call traveling a hobby might do that 3-4x a year but for longer periods. I consider going to concerts / live music shows a hobby, but these days I only go a few times a year. You definitely don't need to be good at something for it to be a hobby. I know people who run or knit for a hobby but wouldn't be considered "good" at it. I do feel like a ho…

As someone who watched a lot of true crime shows, it's said that really abusive people (men and women) are master manipulators. They like to present themselves one way to ensnare their victims and then show their true colors later. There are also women who are used to being around abusive men and so they are attracted to them. Or women with low self-esteem. For what it's worth I've never been with an abusive partner, so I've never had my personality detector used that way. But I have used it wit…

Some women do have naturally lower libido but one thing I've seen with regards to women in LTR is that birth control can really affect some women's libido. Antidepressants too. A friend of mine started seeing a guy she really liked and definitely wanted to actively have sex with, so she started taking hormonal birth control. Unfortunately it tanked her libido and it was really frustrating for her. I have a higher libido than my bf (who is on antidepressants) but since it's so high the birth cont…

I just treated him to a > $100 lunch today because I wanted to eat there. For holidays and birthdays we tend to set a general expectation or budget for how much to spend. And frankly I initiate sex way more because my libido is higher. I do have some trad characteristics like I like to bake for my bf, give him massages, and give him head (more than…

I'm probably a bit lucky in this regard but at 27 I really don't think I look that much different than I did pre-25. I still don't have wrinkles. I still don't have grey hair. And any change in my physique is due to changes in diet or exercise. None of the people I know are miraculously gaining wrinkles or grey hair right now. Honestly the only people my age with grey hair started getting those in college. But obviously it varies from person to person, how much stress they have, genetics, etc.

I wouldn't say I believe them 100%, but the younger kids I know are definitely less interested in sex and hookup culture than the people I grew up with. This obviously is anecdotal so I won't assume everyone is like that. I guess I meant sexually conservative in action not in mentality. I feel like younger generations are more open and understanding about sex and sexuality but they're less active themselves.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 11:01 PM

I would ask if she could grab mine too. Boobs too.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 10:50 PM

I'm too lazy to actually grab articles but I've seen multiple articles and studies that have said Gen Zers are having less sex than previous generations. Now I can't say for certain whether these are accurate or not, but I have heard from younger cousins and friends that this rings true to them. Like dating is still happening but casual sex and hooking up a bunch is viewed kind of weirdly. But this also varies heavily depending on where you live, what school you go to, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/07/23 10:48 PM

No. There are plenty of women who will continue to not do OF. Even as it becomes increasingly normalized people will always have some form of stigma against it, or at the very least treat it as different than having a "real job." Because at the end of the day it's not something that takes training, education, etc. to get into. And it will continue to be frowned upon in many professions to have that stuff on the internet. Also I'm seeing Gen Zers are actually a lot more sexually conservative than…

SF rent is insanely high and everyone is moving out these days. Where are you finding businesses that aren't turning profit in the city that are just being funded as hobbies?? Most people I know who work or operate small businesses are operating them on very small margins and don't have a rich spouse who is funding it as a hobby. The only businesses that are surviving but shouldn't that I see are ones that are probably fronts / money laundering schemes.

I would assume that they're saying if the woman makes 100k/year it's okay if the guy makes less if he's still makes money (let's say 70k) in a job where he's working properly. Tbh I feel like most women I know who work and make good money just want to be with someone who makes similar enough amounts of money where their own lifestyle doesn't have to change to suit them. Also sometimes people just have different incomes because of the kind of job they work. It doesn't mean they work less hard. So…

I can't speak for all women but I and several of my friends met their long-time boyfriends via OLD, so I would consider it a positive. Shaking or trembling. She might tighten up a bit when coming. If she gets the warm fuzzies and gets all cuddly after. If she really wants to kiss you after is a pretty good sign too, though I guess if it's a hookup things might be different. Not all girls are screamers. I will say that a lot of women don't always realize that not all guys can come easily inside all women. Some guys are more used to using their hands, for instance. I think a lot of emphasis is placed on guys ejaculating inside their partner, and it makes sense because that's literally how babies are made. But at the same time I think it's good for people to learn that it isn't an always must. Sometimes he can't finish inside and I finish him with my mouth. So what? It's still hot. And less clean…

I like masculinity. But I'm also bisexual so I'm also really into masculinity in women. In fact I care about masculinity more in women than men. Like my favorite fictional female characters are all super strong and could carry me. But that's in fiction too. With guys masculinity is nice in theory but it's not the most important factor for me. I'd rather date someone who has similar interests etc to me than someone who's just big and assertive. Also I don't need the person to look like Henry Cavi…

My bf loves that I'm assertive in real life because he's conflict-adverse. We joke we're like the Luigi pickle meme. But it's not like I tell him what to do and boss him around either. We're equals. But I have the more proactive(?) personality. But I'm submissive in the bedroom...

Obviously it's anecdotal but I used to live in Japan and all the guys I knew were dating around. And actually all my Japanese friends are getting married sooner than my American friends. There are a lot of guys who are too busy with school and work to date (cram school & entrance exams are killer), but I feel like I didn't actually see as much of a inc*l epidemic over there as I do here. And I'm someone who spent A LOT of time in Akihabara.

I've been friends with guys before and still am. Not a single one has ever been interested in me. One of my best friend groups in college was 3 guys and 4 girls and none of us ever dated. We were just never really each other's types. We feel more like siblings than romantic interests. And now years later everyone has their own partners and it's not a big deal at all. My other friend group is composed of almost all couples, and it's because all the boyfriends were originally friends. The gfs woul…

Yeah they're always criticizing other women and calling them pickmes and stuff like that. They just come across as really bitter to me. Feminism is about respecting other women, but the way some of these women demean other women is really aggravating.

I always find people who say stuff like that weird as fuck. My friend also only says her bf is "cute" but won't call him handsome or sexy or hot. She says she likes his personality too. I can tell he finds it a bit disheartening at times and I wonder if she's be better off just not talking about it at all, or just lying.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/06/23 05:48 PM

Sure. But I guess the biggest thing is making sure it isn't found out. Also coworkers etc are nosy af. If you're bringing a woman to a formal event that's a pretty strong statement. You don't do that with a girl you just met. So be prepared for people to ask you about her later. It'd be pretty embarassing if you get outed as having hired someone to pretend to be your gf.

I find them cringe. I don't know any IRL to be honest. Like I have plenty of single female friends and a lot of them aren't conventionally attractive, but they're not chronically online and complaining about men. They just haven't found anyone yet and they focus on their hobbies and work. One of the main reasons I dislike these women is that so many of them don't just bash men, they also bash fellow women. I've always been a "women supporting women" type feminist, and I respect women's autonomy …

Because I want a life partner, not a sugar daddy. I want someone who will be there for me even when I get old, if I gain weight while pregnant, etc. Also I don't want someone who only wants me when I'm at my most attractive. I want to be loved and wanted even when I'm tired and bloated and not so cute.

I have depression. My bf has severe anxiety. We support each other when the other isn't doing well. But I know it's A LOT to deal with both as the person who has mental health issues and as the partner of someone with them. Not everyone is equipped to handle having a partner like that. It's really emotionally taxing. I think because both my partner and I suffer from these issues we're more empathetic to each other's struggles and can be more patient with one another. Tangent but I'm pretty sure women are biologically more susceptible to STDs than men. And these days since non-wearable birth control is more commonplace, a lot of women are eschewing condoms during sex. Which is definitely contributing to the rise in STDs among women.

The lesson that I learned is girls use online dating as a way to kill time and pass the evening You're not wrong. That is how a lot of women use OLD. But that doesn't mean it can't bear fruit. Uh I don't think that's an American thing. I think that woman is just crazy. I've disagreed with plenty of people on the internet and never encountered a reaction like that. I think that was just someone itching to argue with people who don't agree with her. That has less to do with tap water being the topic and more to do with that person being unhinged.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/23 11:17 PM

I guess it depends on his age and what age women he's trying to court. If a young guy in his early 20s in an urban area tried courting women his age I think it would fail because women his own age largely aren't looking for that. If he tried that in his late 20s, early 30s with women that age I think he'd be more successful because single women that age are beginning to see all their friends get engaged, married, and have babies, and she'll start feeling like she needs to hurry up if she wants t…
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/23 11:07 PM

If you might become distant or even cut off contact with her family in a few years it might be worth pursuing a relationship and seeing what happens then. Worst case scenario you end it and stop talking to her family. But in terms of the relationship itself, with all your anxieties and concerns it might not be the right thing even if you leave out the family matter. Either way, I wish you good luck in figuring this all out.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/23 10:50 PM

Not just in the US though. When I've been to some parts of Asia I do get sick if I drink the tap water. I need to boil it first or get bottled water. And in Ireland too I know people in more rural areas who don't have good tap water. They even brush their teeth with bottled water. I think in an ideal world tap water is better than bottled because it reduces waste, but not all tap water is drinkable.

My best friend literally gets manicures just for the massage and feet soaking. She actually doesn't care that much about her nails haha
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/23 10:20 PM

From how you've been talking about things it feels like there's just a lot of uncertainty. You've known her several years. If you're not fairly confident this is the one, or she might become the one who got away it's not worth it. But also she's kind of waited for you all these years in the sense that she's maintained interest in you, even after dating other men. So even if you guys don't date now and maybe date other people there's still a possibility you could end up together later.
/r/PurplePillDebate26/06/23 10:19 PM

Yeah I get manicures sometimes and my nails are normal length. I often paint them myself but I get gel manicures when I need them to last longer. I also like when the nail tech gives me an arm massage and scrub.

I guess it comes down to whether you value your relationship with her family more or with just her. You guys could try to get closer as friends before seeing if you actually want to pursue something serious, but that depends on how much progress you've already made, her own timelines, etc. If you don't date fast forward a few years and you could maybe try things out then if you're both still single.

I kind of feel like it's actually becoming less common. More women these days are working than before, so they don't need a man who can solely provide for them. In addition, they can now obtain money via OF, so why bother trying to marry some old rich guy when random dudes online will give you money instead? You can work a part time or even full time job and also make extra money and it's a lot quicker and more secure income (since you're not relying on one source). But I don't have data so I do…

This is just my personal theory but I think it's because height is something people can't really control, but weight is. So people ascribe more character judgments in relation to a person's weight. If someone is overweight, people judge them as lazy, unhealthy, not driven, etc. Whereas with short men, even if they're deemed unattractive, the most people can say is they're unlucky. It's not indicative of some kind of character flaw. As a result I think people feel that discussing a person's heigh…

I'm a woman. I think any relationship where one party likes the other significantly more is doomed to fail. Out of the 4 cases you presented, you said the 4th is the best. But if a woman can sense the guy she's with doesn't like her as much, she'll get paranoid, jealous, distrustful, etc. Even if the guy is a good person and isn't interested in cheating, the lack of reciprocation will eventually lead to resentment. Both my bf and other male friends have told me about guys they've had fights with that they'll still hangout and game with, but won't really trust anymore. Meanwhile girls will fully cut out someone after one major fight.

It's different. When people are posting online they're often trying to prove a point. For instance, someone is complaining about women on PPD. So they want to argue that that's not true. IRL if someone is with friends, they're just talking openly. If they were having a debate with some person at a bar maybe the virtue signalling would start, but amongst peers? Not so much. If you're tripping over your words after being with someone for several years that's pretty weird. Everyone gets excited or nervous early on in a relationship but just because you're not anxious around them anymore doesn't mean you're not attracted to them anymore. I'm just as attracted if not more attracted to my partner than ever. I've never been more attracted to someone in my life. He was the only person I ever experienced a spark with. But we're also comfortable together. I love waking up n…

Virtue signalling? Also you're assuming women on the internet are the same people as women off the internet. Most of my female friends don't use Reddit for instance. Actually half of them don't even know what Reddit is. Just like men online don't represent the thoughts of all men, women online even more so don't represent the thoughts of all women. Also, unless they're using a throwaway account a lot of women even online cultivate a certain image of themselves. They want to feel or argue that th…

I think for both men and women there are people who are so attractive that's the first thing you notice and get drawn in by. Then there are other people who might not be a 8-9/10, and are maybe even closer to a 5/10 (on your own individual scale) but their personality does make up for that. I don't think personality could make someone you 100% find ugly attractive, but if someone was pretty normal looking or not your type, the personality could definitely give a big boost. I have friends who are…

I think some women who are having less success with dating don't want to be in relationships for the sake of being in a relationship. And a lot of those women would rather read a romance novel, watch anime, and be single until they find the right guy. I have a lot of friends like that. They're not gonna lower their standards (not just for appearance but also personality, values, cleanliness, etc) just to be in a relationship.

2 for both I guess, though I find it easier to connect with women (I'm one). I'm bisexual and even though I get along great with them I didn't have much success dating them. Even though a lot of my female friends are queer we were never each other's type. For men, dating also wasn't particularly successful until I met my current partner. But I don't think my lack of success was due to my dislike of men. I had plenty of male friends. But they didn't see me that way and I didn't see them that way.

My partner is Irish and I've heard from his family & friends that a lot of young Irish men do complain about Irish women, mostly because there's too many fake tans and things like that. This is it. I'm from SF and there are just so many more men than women. And most of my female friends don't even live in SF these days. They'd rather live in the East Bay or Peninsula. And tbh a lot of women are already in relationships, and those that aren't are often very career focused In terms of type of work, "creative professionals" as you describe them can't even afford to live in SF. Kind of? A lot of extroverted women I know are more likely to put effort into their appearance, whether that be via makeup, clothing, or working out. At a base level it's not like introverted women are unattractive but since they're not going out meeting people as much their priorities are less appearance-centric. If you're always going out with friends or on dates or clubbing, you need to put in a lot more work to maintain your appearance, than if your hobby is reading books in bed. Neither is …

YES. Totally. I'm a woman. I was at a lesbian bar one time in my early twenties and an older woman (maybe thirties or even forties) started chatting with me. She wasn't unattractive but her behavior quickly creeped me out. She grabbed my hand and started stroking it and even when I tried to signal that I was uncomfortable she kept doing it. Her friend kept hinting aggressively that she was single and I eventually had to make up an excuse to get away. Never went back to that bar...

If he's still paying the mortgage, for sure. As long as the rent is reasonable. In fact, a female friend of mine bought her own house, and her fiance pays her rent (been doing this for a few years). This is actually the exact situation I'm in right now. My bf makes a decent amount more than I do, and we split our rent and other expenses 50/50. We alternate who pays for meals, because splitting every single bill is annoying. Or if we go out for a date, if he grabs dinner I'll grab drinks or dessert (somewhere else). I would say he covers meals a bit more than I do, but we definitely split a lot. The car is his (I don't drive) so he covers related expenses, but I offer to chip in for gas when…

I'm also not so driven as to want to pursue an ultra high paying career and hope to fund said partner. Yeah I'm sure you were lovely and she liked talking to you. If she said it was just your age then that's probably all it was. Women in their late 20s are often beginning to think about "settling down" and younger guys can seem like they're on a totally different page. So it's nothing against you or your attractiveness. And some women might not be as bothered by the age gap, so don't give up trying to hit it off with older women. One of my best friends is dating a guy probably close to your age. …

I'm 27 (and in a relationship) but if I was single I'd probably say 25-31. The youngest good friends I have are around 25. Anyone younger feels very weird. On the opposite spectrum, my older sibling is 32 so anyone that age or older feels too far, though it's not like they're unattractive.

Oh woops I misread the title. Sorry about that. I don't think I've ever told someone that because it's so disingenuous. Everyone knows looks matter to some extent, not just in dating but even when applying for a job or asking for help on the street. As a former fat kid I would never tell someone looks don't matter because they totally do. It's better to be aware of them than to not. But at the same time they aren't everything and people can also use fashion, makeup, and how they carry themselves…
/r/PurplePillDebate17/05/23 06:45 PM

Because they prey on guys who are having a hard time but don't often offer actually useful advice. If a hot guy hits on a girl on the street he might get a good response, but if a plain or unattractive guy does it it won't be well received. The hot guy isn't the one paying a PUA for advice though. I think people who give guys style and fashion advice a la Queer Eye are way more helpful than your classic PUA.

More social people meet through parties, clubs, bars, work, and friends (of friends). But more introverted girls especially are also on dating apps, but girls tend to download the app for a week, get bored, and then delete. I do know some people who have met via MMOs actually.

It's not even just experience but meeting people. College is the best time in a person's life to make friends and meet people. You have so many similarly aged people around you and everyone lives close by and can hang out. After college it is so hard to find people to befriend let alone date. So I told my cousin to put herself out that and even if she doesn't find a bf at least get to know a lot of people, go on a few dates, etc.

Wholeheartedly agree with this one. I've seen people who just expect that a relationship will fall into their lap when they least expect it, even though they work from home, don't go out, aren't on dating apps, and don't have any hobbies outside the house. Like the delivery guy probably isn't gonna turn into your prince charming (though props if he does).

That girls are cleaner than guys. I'm definitely cleaner than my bf and I do know a lot of especially older women who were raised to do a lot of the cleaning. But when I look at my generation so many of my female friends are just as gross as their male counterparts. In some cases the guy is actually much better at cleaning. It comes down to how they were raised - what standards of cleanliness were they raised with AND whether they were made to do so by parents or not.

Yep. If anything most of the girls I knew who dated older guys were desperate to NOT be viewed like sugar babies, and would insist on splitting things more evenly. They want to feel on the same level. They're dating older guys so that they themselves feel more adult, and tend to feel insecure whem they're not on the same level financially and professionally. I was going off face alone pretty much tbh. I guess this shows I'm a woman (bisexual tho) bc I can't say I remember what most of these women's bodies look like except Megan Fox LOL.

Attractive to women: Megan Fox, Anya Taylor Joy, Olivia Wilde, Natalie Dormer, Cara Delevigne I think a lot of women find foxy / sharp-featured women attractive. For men, I think there's a wide variety. But maybe cute/sexy or classic beauty types. Ex: Emilia Clarke, Natalie Portman, Zooey Deschanel, Mila Kunis

Eh idk I'd have to run a trial to see who gets more guys, and how into those girls the guys are. Maybe it's because some dudes have fat or chubby fetishes, but I feel like the unattractive normal girl could get a bf or fwb but wouldn't be simped over, whereas the attractive fat girl would get mega simps. While I agree with regards to the terms thick vs fat, OP was talking about "overweight" which technically applies to both.

As a bisexual woman, I'll be honest and say I've never thought of that. I've had periods where I was more attracted to women than men, but it wasn't because I was wary of men, thought women would be better for sex, or anything like that. I guess I was just really into girls at that point, kind of like how I went through a rocker phase, and a kpop phase. Like I was super into watching movies or tv shows with lesbian couples, and focused on going on dates with other girls. I guess in theory dating…

(25f - N count 1) I might be in the minority idk but I love sex even if I don't orgasm. Not only is it validating, it just feels nice and I love making my partner feel good and feeling good together. Sex isn't all about orgasming, though it's not unimportant. I orgasm pretty easily but there are days where it just doesn't happen -same for my bf- but it's still nice to do it. I was a virgin when J met my partner and so much of my knowledge and perception of sex came from media, so I used to get a…

If your face is definitively unattractive then it doesn't matter how skinny or fit you are. For fat girls, it's all about distribution. Some are blessed with slim faces and fat in their thighs and boobs, while many have it in their belly or double chins. It really amazes me when I see big girls who have super slim faces and pretty much no double chin, because they end up attracting wayyyy more guys than skinny girls with average or below faces.

I told a friend the reason she can't get a good bf is because she's only into Asian fuccbois and maybe she should go for dudes who aren't like that lol. Her response: "I knowwwww but I don't like other kinds of guys." And so things remain unchanged. Except now she mostly goes for just casual hookups etc. bc she has low hopes for an actual relationship. She's gorgeous but man she has shit taste in men. They aren't even that attractive most of the time. She just likes that kind of vibe.

I've only ever heard of celebrities sliding into DMs. Not a single person I know IRL has ever done that. Tinder, Bumble, or Hinge? Sure. INSTAGRAM??? Nope. I know more people who've met at cafes than that.

I'm not arguing with that "fact." I'm pointing out that if 80% of women are that way, wouldn't you rather find one of the 20% who aren't?
/r/PurplePillDebate09/10/21 01:24 AM
5

But you don't want to date those 80% or so of women who would scream at you about take out. They're just crazy. It's not like they /changed/ and became that way ~because~ you first treated them well. They were always like this, but eventually showed their true colors. So isn't it better to root out the difficult women and then if you find one who is genuinely appreciative she's a keeper?

Isn't the point of OF to make people feel like they're kind of in a relationship with someone though? Even though gay men are able to get sex, they often lament how difficult it is to obtain actual relationships. So even if straight men were able to have as much casual sex as gay men, if they're still struggling to secure a proper relationship the way that gay men struggle then the issue will remain the same. OF is personalized porn, which is why people pay for it, even though the internet has a…

Yeah, I am. And so I have female friends. Lots of them. And none of them are dating men like that. None of them are attracted to men like that. If those women are kind and lovely as you say they are then unfortunately they have some serious underlying self-esteem or other confidence-related issues. But then again you make it sound like this is universal where you are so if it's a common thing maybe it's cultural. Maybe these women see how their own mothers and sisters are treated and they intern…

They want to be the exception, but then get shocked when that isn't the case. Personally, I've actually never met someone and been like "wow you're so hot I would have sex asap." I know people who are on OF and I respect that that's their choice, but I wouldn't feel comfortable dating someone who was on there personally. None of the guys are what I would call chads. All of us (girls and guys) are normie tier nerds who like anime and/or video games. As you mentioned, women need to /get in the mood/ or be in a sexy headspace to do so. For that, I highly recommend... lingerie!! This might not be the case for all women, but I've found that putting on a sexy outfit really helps to get me in a fun mood. I like to light candles too. And once you get to it, starting with foreplay makes such a big difference. Even just kissing for a little bit can help a lot. Some younger women are attracted to older men physically for sure, but from what I've seen with friends and women around me, a lot of young women date older guys because they find the guys around them to be too immature. I love sex and also cooking and don't mind cleaning, but I don't want to handle all the chores ALL the time and all by myself. It happens! Some people are just sensitive to certain tastes or textures. And just because you don't like certain dishes doesn't mean that all food in that cuisine will be difficult to consume. No judgment towards people who can't handle certain foods. I'm pretty adventurous but I have certain smells or tastes I just can't handle. Despite how adventurous I am I still HATE pickles. Someone who listens to me and gives me attention when I need it. They're willing to strike up a balance in terms of duties around the house. Doesn't need to be perfectly 50/50 but willing to compromise or help around. Someone who is fiscally responsible but also not too stingy that they don't know how to have a nice time. I like Daria (the show) but the thing about Daria the character is that she's smart but honestly is pretty judgmental of other women and people. In her own way, she's "not like other girls." In my opinion you just have to pay attention. Finding out a woman's weak points, learning what positions feel good for her AND you. Finding out what kinks she has. Most women will tell you if they like something so take that as your signal. Some girls like receiving oral and some don't. Some do like rough sex but others like slower and deeper. And tbh sometimes it varies depending on the day. Seeing what kind of mood they're in helps a lot. For the most part, touching a woman's hips or butt or b…

No. Because sex is something that a lot of people (not everyone) can get for free, and the perceived norm is for people to obtain sex without money. So for both sex workers and those who spend money on them, they will always be viewed negatively or at least abnormally. "What is wrong with the guy if he has to pay for sex?" "What is wrong with the woman that she needs to sell sex (as opposed to something that people more commonly associate as a commodity)?" I think those questions and that stigma…

I think it all boils down to whether they think they have other options. Women who are insecure will put up with a lot. Women who believe there's someone or something (single-ness) better will get out. For dudes who think they can get another girl, they don't put up with shit, but if they think being single and not having sex is worst then they deal with it. If we go by the idea that women can get sex or relationships easier than men then yeah women do probably put up with less shit because they…

I don't know why this is/would be harder for women to understand than men. No woman wants to be settled for either. No woman wants to be chosen as a backup or second choice either. Female sexuality is heavily tied to being desireable so if anything women should really understand this. I personally would never think a guy would be okay with this, but I can't speak for other women. If in your experience women don't understand this, then to be honest I don't get why either.

I strongly disagree. I think both parties need to contribute. Obviously if there is a significant difference in income then you can adjust accordingly. Also, it's important that both parties have some money that is separate in case of emergencies or just for personal hobbies etc. But I don't like the mentality that the guy should pay for everything while the girl just spends only on herself. Evolutionarily it's probably more beneficial for a woman to have a loyal partner who will support her and only her and devote himself to their family or whatever. Personally, I just want someone to want to be with me and want only me. Personally, I've only ever been really attracted in EITHER sense to one person, and I think it was because we really connected in a personal/emotional way first. But if they know something I don't about him then maybe it would be worth considering. But it's a hard sell. My boyfriend is my best friend above anyone else. I think alot of the women who are really into bad boys have massive savior complexes or just straight up gargantuan egos. They're convinced that THEY and THEY ALONE have the power to "save" or "change" that person. They want to feel accomplished or fulfilled by having been the reason someone changed their ways. Like girls who date cheaters want to feel like "he was like that with other girls but not with ME." I think it's a massive ego thing. That or they're just as fucked up as the guy.

I feel like women are less likely to date a guy with traits they find negative to begin with. Like most girls I know are more aggressive at vetting guys with traits they dislike PRIOR to entering into a relationship, but guys are often more likely to get into the relationship first and then later realize how much they can't stand those negative traits.

I feel like even if women had higher libidos it wouldn't change their sexual preferences that much. I'm a girl with a pretty high libido (more than my bf actually), and even when I'm extra horny and my bf isn't, I'm not suddenly desperate to have sex with any random dude. If anything, I guess it means more solo play time? I will say though as someone whose libido dropped significantly when I was taking antidepressants, that a pill that helps improve sex drive to counteract the negative effects o…

My boyfriend and I both have pretty severe mental health issues. He has severe anxiety and a decent list of bad phobias, I have depression and occasional suicidal tendencies. We laid those on the table pretty early and to be honest it was part of the reason we connected with one another. I won't say it's always been easy, but I think we're able to be really supportive and empathetic of each other's struggles because of it. We've been living together for two years, through a pandemic, and he's se…

It's more than just self-confidence though. Acne can be painful. Dry skin hurts. Wrinkles are one thing, but at a very base level, treating your skin well is good for one's physical health.

Everyone should wear sunscreen. Skin cancer doesn't discriminate. As for other skincare, I think everyone should use it if they feel necessary or want to. I don't think there's anything wrong with guys using skin products to deal with their acne. Same with girls. Everyone should have at least some face wash at home. While I don't personally have a full daily regimen with a bunch of products (I was blessed with nice skin) I don't think it's bad if other people do. Take care of yourself for yourse…

As someone who grew up among a bunch of VERY wealthy people, nah. Rich people date and marry other rich people. All of my richest friends had dads who were lawyers and mothers who were CEOs or vice versa. Or if the mom was a SAHM, they were total trust fund babies. That's not to say there aren't probs also rich men (especially divorced ones) who have sugar babies or pay for sex, but if you think rich men are all just paying for their income-free wives to laze around all day you'd definitely be w…

For me it depends on context. My boyfriend wears dumb ass anime shirts at home (not that anime is dumb, just these shirts are), and it's whatever, but if we're on a nice date, I expect a button up and dress pants, or if more casual: a plain white tshirt and jeans. If a guy shows up to a date at a nice restaurant wearing an old shirt with food stains and basketball shirts, I'd have a problem. I feel like it varies if the friends are in relationships or single. With friends in relationships, people are pretty open but also because it's a bit of a "been there done that" or ongoing thing, the most friends will talk about it is be like "yeah we've tried X" or "we do it like X times a month or week." You'd be surprised how casually friends drop that they've done anal in a conversation. But it's a lot less gossipy and way more casual. I've had friends talk about sex because they were discu…

It's a generational thing mostly. I'm 25 and when I was in hs One Direction were popular. When I was in middle school, it was the JoBros. I had a kpop phase back then too, but by the time I was done with college I had very much lost interest in that type. I feel like it should be a personal choice. I like my last name well enough but I would want to take my future husband's last name. Main reason? I hate my middle name and would like to make my maiden name my middle name and then take my future husband's last name. Hyphenated names are cool if not too long. I don't necessarily believe that porn is always bad, but with regards to the points you made, I feel like for a relationship to be successful, both parties need to be sexually compatible. If one party (male or female) have a higher libido, it can lead to frustration or resentment. When it comes to kinks, it depends on how important certain acts are to a person. This is an interesting theory/phenomena. I wonder if it might be because when men outnumber women they have to fight for women's attention in a way that appeals to women (courting, dating, etc), whereas when women outnumber men, the women have to compete for men by appealing to the men with sex (even if that means hooking up with chad who has a revolving door of girls.)

But aren't harem anime just a representation of a fantasy? When you look at a lot of protags of such series, they're meant to be relatively normal, nice and benign so they can be self-insert targets for the primary demographic. I think some like more average looking girls but not necessarily because they're low maintenance, but more because they're relatable or attainable. I wonder if it's because people live longer and feel they have more options available to them these days for dating, traveling, general mobility, etc., so even at age 60, they feel like there are things they can do and people they can meet. Rather than worrying they'll die alone or at least soon, there's a sense of "well I still have more to life ahead of me so why waste it with someone I don't want to be with?"

From FDS' actual fact page, in response to a question about ideal dating to marriage timeline, they say: "A man who doesn't propose to you by 1.5 years is not serious about marriage." Both are important. You never know what kind of crazy people are out there. Even if 99% of men (and women) are safe and fine, you don't want to take a risk on that 1%. There are plenty of boys and men who can learn to treat women right, but there will always be ones who won't. And it's not just men enacting violence on women. For instance domestic violence in LGBT couples is also a major issue. Regardless of gender people need to be taught to respect others and also protect themselves.

I can understand being embarassed or even mortified by a comment like that, but for it to affect a couple's sex life for YEARS is bizarre. Like sex is weird. There are weird smells and noises. If you're in a LTR with someone, at some point one of you will fart at the other during sex. Sometimes people fall off beds or snort. Uh I was just responding to what OP said regarding resentment. My personal opinion is no one (male or female) should have children if they're not prepared for the cost and labor required. Couples need to make sure they're on the same page regarding expectations and division of labor. If a woman's husband has zero interest in taking care of the child, but also wants her to work full-time, maybe they shouldn't have kids together.

I'm probably the exception, but I've only truly been interested in (like-liked) one person in my life. I've had brief crushes but I never had a first love or whatever in high school or anything. It's not that I was uninterested in other people and tried to hold people away. I'm bisexual and have found many a person physically attractive but I never felt myself "falling" for anyone until I met my current boyfriend. I legit thought I might be aromantic until I met him. We met on Tinder and for pos…

I think so! Being able to toss a load of laundry in or preheat the oven helps so much. Growing up, my dad worked from home, so he was able to help with a lot. Not having a commute gives so much extra time.

As a woman (and honestly as a person), I feel like my ideal would be able to work a few hours a day but also have free time to do other things. Being a SAHM or housewife and not getting to pursue other things isn't appealing, but slaving away at a job and having my husband do the same just so we can put food on the table is also not something I'd want. I feel like some working moms are probably resentful bc they have to juggle a full-time job as well as the majority of childcare after hours. I'd…

It's one thing if you share pictures in makeup as opposed to barefaced, and maybe with better angles. It's another thing to full on catfish someone. If you showed a friend the picture and they wouldn't recognize that immediately as you, that's not good. As a woman, I can't help but wonder: what good does it do to catfish someone? They'll meet you in person eventually and if you look drastically different from your photo, they'll just be turned off. It's better to post a nice photo of yourself (n…

Girls can wear dresses and heels OR sneakers and jeans, but men can't do that. I had a uniform growing up and on hot days I always felt bad that the boys were stuck in khakis. Tomboys are viewed much less negatively than boys with feminine interests or tastes.

I think it just boils down to there's a demand and people willing to do it for the money. Just like there's a demand for vagina-scented candles and fursuits, there's a demand for sex work and even feet pics. Sure there are negatives. I know plenty of women who would never do OF because they're not interested or too scared of the repercussions (like to career etc). But there are some people who feel the money is worth it. Just like how some athletes are prepared to risk permanent brain damage, ev…

Nope! I'm not even married yet but have been living with my bf over a year. We love living together. We're not even bothered by each other's snoring because we both sleep like rocks.

Crazy attracts crazy. Some act on it; some don't. Women AND men who marry serial killers have ISSUES.

I grew up in a household where chores were 50/50. Both my parents know how to cook. Whoever didn't cook that night did dishes. Everyone does their own laundry. Other cleaning is split. My mom always told me you never know someone until you've lived AND traveled with them. So even though it might be scandalous to some of her friends and family (we're Chinese) she actually encouraged me to move in with my boyfriend.. My boyfriend and I also split chores pretty much 50/50. Luckily we both like to c…

LOL I'm a woman and I will gladly talk about this phenomenon because it is bizarre and fascinating. I could never understand what attracts such women fo men like that, because I'm not crazy, but it is interesting. It's taking the bad boy obsession to the utmost extreme. These women probably think that either they can fix those men, or they feel special somehow, like they'll be treated differently than the victims. That's how I interpret it at lease.

It's less that people are saying women should have childrenin their thirties and more that kids are EXPENSIVE and many women and couples (yes, their spouses too) want to be financially secure before having kids.

Honestly most of my and my bf's friends are all couples. Like in our friend group, there are 4 couples. There are a few single friends here and there but none of them are really seeking out a relationship. They're all too busy with work or school to bother. I feel like if they actually tried to date it (pre/post-pandemic) it wouldn't be impossible to find someone.

I (25f) and my bf (26m) have been together for 3 years and living together for 1.5 years. At least among most people I know, the consesus is trhat a good age to marry is around 28-30. A lot of our friends are couples who met in college and we're all still getting our bearings in terms of career. Bf is in grad school and I'm only a step or two above entry level, so we're not exactly rolling in money. We know we're going to get married eventually, so there's no real sense of pressure. If one of us…

For my bf, I'm actually hoping to give him a PS5 for his bday (if I can get my hands on one) for the same reason as you said. Dinner is one night, but PS5 will last for years! That said, for my own bday, because I LOVE food, I probably want a nice meal - something I don't get very often, like good sushi or steak - and because I'm not a gamer. And a less expensive gift is fine (I've received more pricy things in the past). I'm a girl but I don't mind buying gifts for my boyfriend on his bday. I d…

That makes sense. I definitely get where you're coming from. Hindsight is 20/20 afterall. All I can do is try and hope that these aren't just rose tinted glasses, but maybe they are. If they are though, I'd be happy not taking them off.

You're welcome to have your own opinion. If you disagree that's fine. But you yourself said you wished that love wasn't all a lie, so all I wanted to do was to try and offer an example and encourage you to not give up hope.

I think love is real. But it's not easy or straight forward. I've been with my boyfriend for 2.5 years and I love him more than anyone else. We're both in our mid twenties working similar paying jobs, so I don't rely on him for money. We both pay equal parts of our rent. I'm not some damsel in distress he needs to protect. I'm a pretty feminine person but I don't think I necessarily need him to affirm that for me. I can wear a dress and makeup to do that. The reason I'd say I believe love is rea…

24F here! I think the best way to figure this out is a combination of sexual and non-sexual interest. Obviously if a women is clearly not interested in kissing, sex, etc. then that's a sign she's not into you, but esp if she has a high sex drive that might not be a sufficient enough indicator. You should also look at how she interacts with you outside of the bedroom. Is she genuinely interested in what you have to say, your hobbies, etc. Can you two hold a conversation and be comfortable in each…

24F here! I don't think it's so much feminine as just uncommon in general, and perhaps thus trendy?T shirts rarely get tucked into pants unless they're high waisted, which I guess is more common amongst girls. If I saw a guy do that I don't think I'd consider him feminine, but very fashion-conscious, which I guess is often conflated with gay. So I don't think it is inherently feminizing or "gay" but because it's not a common fashion choice, people might be lead to assume that, which tends to hap…

This is my (24f) theory: Promiscuity in women is viewed as a shameful trait so women who are promiscuous likely feel pressure to downplay their sexual experience in order to avoid the negative judgment that comes with a high body count. Women who have less experience and thus are less promiscuous are less likely to feel a need to lie because their number is one that is unlikely to viewed as shameful.

I'm female and I have a close male friends. Imo I think the key is to not be attracted to each other lol. My male friends were never attracted to me because I'm not their type, and I was never attracted to any of them because they're not my type. The same goes with the other girls in our friend group. Since none of us ever really had any interest in each other, it makes it easy for us to maintain a solid friendship. Maybe bc all my male friends are only children and I only have a sister, they fe…

I do know some women who find guys who are less interested in them alluring, but those are often girls who have lots of guys throwing themselves at her, so it helps that guy to stand out. But those are girls who want to play games more than they want to find a significant other, so if that's what you're after it might work? I personally like attention. If I'm looking for a boyfriend, I want someone who can give me attention, who will talk to me about anything and everything, who will listen. I'm…

This is a really interesting and compelling theory. I'm an Asian-American woman and I feel like I've witnessed this multiple times before. Amongst Asians and Asian-Americans, I feel like this is particularly prevalent. A lot of my parents' friends have sons, and the mothers treat their sons like princes, and even though they teach their sons to be kind to girls, it's kind of under the assumption that their darling sons are deserving or entitled to the attention of girls. The mentality of "oh if …
