You can do all of that. Very true. But you won't settle down until your looks start to fade and the high quality men won't want to date you any more. Then you'll settle for mediocrity and be dissatisfied for the rest of your life, or cheat on him and become a single mother. This is the reality. No justification needed.

Yeah, me too. I am an affectionate man and I have almost everything in my life totally together. I'm ready for a relationship. So when I meet someone I want to dive in head first. But I KNOW this is a bad tactic. Good things take time. Don't dive into shit before you really know a person.

How long has it been? He's already talking about what he wants from you as a wife? This might be a little quick for my tastes. I'd tell you to remain cautious but I've been in your position, you probably couldn't take it easy if you tried! I hope it works out for you.

Let them know. It's very rare, but I've been on the receiving end of date requests and I accept them happily if she looks like she takes care of herself.

I am a male and I agree with this description.

Holy shit, the last girl I was involved with did this exact thing. She'd just pick fights like that. She'd just come out swinging and hurt my feelings. And then an hour later it'd be back to business as usual, totally normal and affectionate. She wouldn't apologize for these things, or even really acknowledge that they happened unless I specifically asked about it.

I am one of the lucky ones. Or I guess I'm unlucky? My parents are in a happy relationship with one another after 27 years, of which I am a result. I grew up in a stable household with pretty much nothing to worry about. And I really mean nothing. I did chores and occasionally got money to spend. My parents always supported me and grounded me when I misbehaved. Trying to date is just wild because I never know what kind of trauma I'm about to uncover in my potential partner. I know only 1 person …

I've seen this happen with my male friends. You never EVER want to compromise on an issue as big as whether or not to have children. Having the discussion is very important, because if he never wants kids, you have to decide if you can live with that for the rest of your life. There's no halfway measure. Getting a dog doesn't count. It'll either be his way, or your way. And resentment is really toxic to marriages.

My primary motivation for this is sex. It's been a while, surrounded by men for so long. We were compatible enough for a LTR before I dumped her, so that's not really off the table yet either. I can play the role but I don't want her to have any power over me, and I think this starting point is where I establish those boundaries (either for myself, or between us both, I haven't decided.)

With my frame, I was skinny as hell at 165. I have broad shoulders and long limbs. I think I looked fantastic at 175 (lean and muscular, when I ran track and field as a sprinter) so that's where I'm getting to.

I'm 6' and 200. I'm just over the "healthy" weight bracket. I'm at the point where I don't look like I'm overweight, but I fucking feel it. Hitting the gym, because I don't want to turn out like those people I sneer at every day.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
