Oh wow, this is rich: When a child is born with a genetic disorder, the parents may go to a counselor to learn whether they should try to have more children. If tests reveal that the presumed father of the child is not the biological father, most counselors will tell only the mother.

Man, the best years of your life are so far ahead of you yet -- you have no idea. Remember that men actualize through power and wealth, where women actualize through beauty then babies. Your stock has barely started to rise, and hers is reaching a peak. Whether or not you decide to GYOW, your 30s and 40s can be a glorious time. That said, you're right to be concerned. She's gonna want that carousel before she's ready to 'settle down'. I'm with the top posts here - don't break up with her, but …

It isn't really the 'ha, we got em' part maybe, but it's helpful to commiserate about why it was that we've left women behind. It can be easy to forget, and even easier to feel alone when you look at the media and think 'something here isn't right' or 'this seems a bit one-sided..'. It's a variation on what everyone else seems to be saying, but my take on it would be this: - Track your time, task, and accomplishments / quantifiable completed _thing_ - Stick to the 40h / week that you're paid to do - Keep your head down, do the work you're paid to do and get out At _most_ you may want to talk to the other guys in the lab about doing the same. Productivity will drop. You may get flogged, but stay the course. It may become uncomfortable in the lab for a while. You may get call…

was going to suggest this too. Everyone came back to check in during my early thirties. I'm also a very average dude. They suddenly seem to find that attractive, or at least have decided they want someone with a solid income and stability to latch on to.
