I didn’t realize this was you replying to me. Thought it was someone else. My point still stands. To be under my post as (what I’m assuming to be a black man) and tell me that i shouldn’t feel that way just bc you went through it too is crazy to me. I got triggered bc I’m tired of ppl constantly acting like we’re crazy for not wanting colorism thrown our way. “Internet trolls don’t count” coming from a black man doesn’t surprise me bc yall were the main trolls doing it. Youre black and came up u…

Are you telling me this is how you feel? If so i apologize but idk how you get rejected as a man of color and then side with right wingers who notoriously rub elbows with white supremacist but okay!

LMAOOOO. Sorry I’ve gotta laugh at “internet trolls don’t count”. Well let’s talk about my real life experiences of men telling me or telling other men that black women are ghetto, loud and fat. So let’s start there. “Online trolls don’t count” and that’s the problem with the country now. Me being told I’m ugly, undesirable or flat out the n word shouldn’t matter? I shouldn’t count that even tho it was hate thrown my way? I’m 31 now and had to hear this since i was 14/15. Reducing colorism and r…

And i agree with this but i make no excuses for being hateful. Im a black woman and im constantly told im not good enough, not desired and that im ugly. It hurts but i dont go around spewing things about men because im broken. I spent a lot of time hating myself but didnt want to sit there so i changed. If theyre young or still in college then I’ll extend grace but a man pushing to 50 saying that will always turn me off.

I’m not sure because I’ve thought this until i spoke to a male friend about dating (hoping to get the male perspective) and he started regurgitating the things they said and he’s well past 30. It was disappointing to hear so i guess it’s case by case. Also why i appreciate this group bc we are not doormats and dont have to take any disrespect while still bringing value.

Not telling you what you should do bc there is plenty of great advice here but i have never seen a healthy relationship begin from someone doing gymnastics to prove themselves to a potential partner. men go after what they want so if he doesn’t have you then guess what? I would start dating other men because if this goes left you will be hurt

In this economy i would care what my partner did and his career trajectory. Making less than me isn’t the issue. You said he has no skills and no goals but he’s inching towards 30. If he doesn’t change you will carry the brunt of the load (being the breadwinner and keeper of the home). Since you aren’t married i would focus on what is it that you want. Do you want to be with him? Then be with him and stand by him. If not talk to him about but i would not become his mother and do the work for him…

I mean exclusive as in boyfriend and girlfriend. I’m not exclusive until a man asks me to be his girlfriend. Doesn’t mean I’m playing the field (or actively going out of my way to meet men) but I’m open to meeting other men until he locks me down.

Oh absolutely. Even before discovering RPW I’ve always given any man romantically interested in me 90 days on the clock (unbeknownst to him). I’m under the belief any man that serious about you doesn’t take that long to want to be exclusive with you. It’s not marriage. So 90 days with no progression of things was a big sign, he wasn’t generous. He wasn’t cheap, but didn’t seem that into me that it was second nature for him, amongst other things. I’m very good at reading the room so i politely en…

Thank you for your reply; i really like your answer. I’m a bit hard on myself and recently went through some life changes so i feel my SMV is a 6. When i was a dating 7/8s i felt on their level bc i was making close to 6 figures, top of my career and all that changed last year. I’m still in my field and excel in it but moved in with my parents so i feel my rating dropped a bit. Im also black (not being a victim but i live in reality!) so i work my ass off to compensate for where i lack bc i know…

Ahh okay I’m with you now. Their usual SMV is around an 7/8 imo. College boyfriend was the president of his fraternity and very popular and educated. I dated a financial advisor (and good friend) right after. We had a house when we were together but he’s 27 and owns his own home and makes 6-figures. Last serious relationship (mentioned above) was with an old coworker. He was just starting out on his career (nurse practitioner) and owned his own home, had a couple of cars, came from a good home, …

Haha “the title is awful” is funny bc it does sound pretty defeatist but I’m sure that’s intentional. I’m going to look into picking it up but I’ve avoided it bc i thought maybe i just kept running into “jerks” but I’m realizing the common denominator is me. So happy for you and your partner. Hopefully i can have the same success! 😊

Like where was shooting in terms of attractiveness or where was i meeting the men? Either way, i don’t have a type when it comes to looks. I’m moreso interested in how we click personality wise and trajectory of your life. I now get men who are a bit more conventionally attractive but It doesn’t really matter where i meet them (online, in person) etc. the outcome is the same = they don’t want to commit to me. I’ve usually gravitated towards men with good careers as that’s important to me bc I ha…

I remember your posts from the past and most of this seems to be stemming from your insecurities. I have been cheated on and have abandonment issues - but those are my problems to sort through, not a potential partner’s. The dating scene is horrendous right now and i don’t see any glaring red flags here. You said you would move on yet haven’t - thats a red flag. If you keep this up you’ll find yourself single instead of walking down the aisle. Posting on any sub, let alone this one, wanting some…

OP do what you feel is best but this would be a huge no for me. He can go and support her and come back home for the night. I understand trust is important but something I’ve noticed is that men will use that keyword just to shut you down about having an issue with what they’re doing. I would also take the fact that his ex had an issue with his girl best friend as a sign lmao. I’ve dated men with female friends and have gotten along with them unless i was given a reason not to. Something seems o…

I cant answer each question buuuut i will say that i tried this after a long time of dating men who tend to make more than me. Me paying splitting dates (occasionally), etc made me not as tolerant as i would like to be when it came to him messing up. I really tried to overlook it and it wasn’t a big deal - UNTIL he started slacking. My mindset became “what am i doing here?” Im not at all saying breadwinner men will treat you like a queen at every turn. What i am saying is that im not going to sp…

I went exactly what you went through and my insecurities ultimately led to our demise. please listen to the advice here and take time for yourself. i seriously had the thought process of “I’ll heal while we date” and thats so hard to do, and unfair to your partner. You have the chance to salvage it if you take space now and work on yourself but you may not get a second chance if you ruin it by being controlling and insecure. Good luck! ❤️

“They exist, i talk to him in the mirror every day” omg this is the best but i really needed this thank you. ive allowed my past and high horse thinking to ruin a good thing so I’m determined to not make the same mistake. thank you for this!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
