I'm sorta familiar with David Deangelo. Believe it or not, I listened to his stuff in high school and it helped me land my ex. But a refresher wouldn't hurt. Thanks for the advice. I get the feeling that you're spot on and that there will never be a perfect time, and I should drop that notion immediately. While I, unfortunately can't head out tonight unless I wish to be out of a job, I'm definitely going to go out tomorrow and just talk to people, no expectations, so that I at least have some baseline to determine what I'm doing right and wrong.
