Yo, there’s been tons written about the subject. Here’s one: https://www.themodernman.com/modern-women-behaving-like-men.html It explains a lot actually,m about why people seem to hate modern feminists. They’ve just assimilated to our culture. I wasn’t around for 1st wave feminism to compare women before with women now, but I trust the academic consensus and I’ve done my own research out of curiosity.

I think you’ve got it backwards. A privilege can be taken away, a right cannot. States granting women the privilege of voting is not the same as the federal government guaranteeing them suffrage as a right. Just because they aren’t forced to register with the draft doesn’t mean it’s a privilege. I can see how you want to see it that way, but literally, that’s what the 19th amendment is. It’s explicitly a right. I could be wrong here, but I don’t think states are generally concerned with rights, …

Yeah well when I try and stop someone from explaining stuff, they always seem to get all bothered by it, like they’re entitled to waste my time. This has been a pet peeve of mine for a while, so you bet ya I make sure to preface any explanation with an inquiry before divulging a bunch of information. There’s a point when you’re in the groove of something and I’ve felt out someone’s knowledge level and interest…then if we pass that hurdle, it’s a lot easier to assume “oh if they didn’t know that,…

And yet, it usually seems like I’ve offended them. I can’t explain it, I’ve just experienced it often.

I dunno, I’ve interrupted a lot of people by doing what you say and it always leaves them miffed. It feels stupid that it’s on me to stop somebody from explaining basic stuff to me. If it’s unsolicited it is usually annoying. Even when I care about a subject and have a lot to learn….a lot of people are just horrible at explaining things and should probably just stop altogether.

“This is life, we have to move on.” Yes complaining about the world is a good way to move on. It’s how we see a lot of progress in the world, by moving on but shifting the social landscape in the process. It’s a time honored democratic tradition. Literally how it’s supposed to work. We aren’t supposed to tolerate things that make bother us, we’re supposed to engage in discourse and possibly it will become a movement. It’s happened like this over and over.

Hello again fearless. I wasn’t debating whether men are the only gender forced into service in the US. You are correct, that is true. I’m not seeing how I’m spreading disinformation, tell me. The 19th guarantees women the right to vote, not the privilege to vote.

What it has to do with is that women have adapted to functioning in male dominated professions. This is relatively new. Because they’ve been historically (in the US anyway) male dominated fields, women found themselves having to assimilate to male culture. People mirror each other through imitation. Who knows where ‘splaining comes from but I pretty much hate it when anyone accosts my time by explaining something I already know but they won’t let me get a word in to tell them I already know, so …

Not to me, it opens an opportunity for the other person to show interest. I don’t like it when people just go off explaining something I already know. It’s a waste of everyone’s energy and I’d rather not have to be rude and interrupt someone. The ‘splaining culture is a power grab move. I feel accosted whenever someone starts giving me a lesson in something we could just talk about if they inquired if I already knew the subject. Then we could actually talk about it, but not, the person doing the…

Ok, but let’s take a look at other internet activity that is not close to actual hate - several mass shooters posted on social media their views, hate, and desire to kill. That’s not actually violent, but in hindsight it’s lawmakers who are scratching their heads trying to makes sense of it - when do words become intention and when does an intention turn into a crime. I understand that this is one of the few places guys have to vent about stuff, but I do see a lot of hate….or maybe more accurate…

Lot of women have internalized masculine behavior as a result of being in a man’s world. Let’s not forget, women only got the right to vote in the US a little over 100 years ago.

It’s easy to avoid, all you have to do is ask. “Have you ever used one of these?” “Have you heard about_?” “How much do you know about?” “Are you interested to learn more about___?” Men and women, whoever it is doing the ‘splainin, we just all need better conversation etiquette, IMO
/r/MensRights24/07/22 07:09 PM

You have to understand, a lot of women mirror masculine behavior because it’s how you get ahead in this world. Women have only had the right to vote for just over 100 years. They’re playing in a man’s world and a lot of masculine behavior has been internalized. It’s a well researched topic. Not just my opinion.

The problem is, people will visit here and see the woman hating, which sometimes is duly on display, and get turned off from the legitimate discussions occurring here. I’ve found these legitimate grievances you’re talking about. But if I respond with something that contradicts the outcome someone wants, I’m ridiculed. Ridicule is not a good path for mens rights. It undermines the cause. An example is abortion rights - like if a guy is like “I should be able to keep the baby instead of abort it”,…

Lot of name calling and gaslighting instead of open minded discussion. Also a lot of guys here don’t seem to know how to have a focused, calm, and thoughtful discussion. It’s like - “agree with what I say or fuck you fool”. That is toxic masculinity in full view for the world to see. This will harden people against us as we’re asking for more rights. There are legitimate mens rights issues to be discussed, but we already lose when we have immature responses, resort to name calling, and can’t acc…

You’re talking about ww2 which was more that 80 years ago. The internet as we know it is 40 years old. Schools were segregated 60 years ago. Women didn’t have the right to vote just over 100 years ago. Things can change. The need for conscripted service can change too. It’s a complicated topic, but if we’re gonna be talking about men’s rights, I think it’s important to talk about human rights. I think conscripted service is a human rights violation, period. A crime against humanity. Though seemi…

This might have used to be true, but I believe the wars of the future will be economic wars. We’re seeing it in Russia now. As good as it is bad, the world has become more interdependent. That very interdependency should be all the leverage we need in the future to fight conflict. Conflict is as old as humanity and I don’t think it’s going anywhere, but we can make war obsolete.
/r/MensRights24/07/22 06:11 PM

That’s an interesting explanation I haven’t heard and makes a lot of sense. Is it grounds to invade? No. Russia feeling threatened is not a good reason to draft innocent young men into a poorly organized war that has also turned into a humanitarian crisis. I personally feel like conscripted military service is a human rights travesty. It doesn’t make it fair for women to be forced to die as pawns in war. Conscripted combat isn’t fair to anyone and I think that’s what we should be talking about. …

You don’t have to suspect it, you can find me some evidence of a large movement of feminists saying the want to kill men, then I might start to take that seriously. I know lots of feminists. I’m a man, and a feminist. I don’t know any of them who want to kill anyone. The desire for murder is rare among humans, let alone in movements who’s aim is to level the playing field. Well that there is what sets men apart. Women rally, men just expect change. We really should rally to end all war forever, that would likely be the single biggest victory for men…but how do we do that when war is so embedded in the world? It’s always based on territory, capitalism, and grudges. How do we go about ending man’s ‘need’ for war?

I agree that lack of a father is a factor…but to say being fatherless means a lack of masculinity is a stretch. Men make friends with men. Men have uncles. Men have jobs with other men. I didn’t really grow up with a father, but there were other men who served, at different times, as the masculine influence. Even father figures for brief moments. Not having a father doesn’t mean you don’t have masculinity in your life.

Cool, one small group decades ago, who also happen to be sexual abuse survivors. I’m curious to check out the documentary soon….but 4 links pointing one and the same small group of feminists in Sweden, from decades ago is a rather underwhelming argument to back up the bold claim that feminists want to murder all men

Yeah it’s insane. And that’s just this year! That’s why I figured it might be worth chatting about in this group. Though I guess not exactly a mens rights issue, I’d say this is definitely isn’t helping with the optics for men. I know a lot of guys here think that what other people think doesn’t matter….the truth is - it does. When people see things like this, it solidifies a resistant mindset to mens rights. Or at the very least, it reduces sympathy for men. I don’t know what to do about it, bu…

I’d suppose it has less to do with what WE are or aren’t doing differently…and might be more of a cultural thing. Women and black and brown cultures seem to be more community oriented. So I’d say it’s not what we’re doing differently, it’s how we have different culture. Men tend to have less close friends and feel more isolated. I think this makes us prone to ‘lone wolf’ syndrome…and that’s fertile ground for becoming a mass shooter.

I think it’s fundamentally different when you are a terrorist organization. It results in the same thing, but at least they’re sorta predictable. In the US….it could happen anywhere at anytime for any reason by rogue individuals who are, in my opinion, deeply hurting. It seems more and more recognized that these shooters in the US are essentially going after a suicide and there are often calls for help leading up to an attack. Terrorist groups, not always. I think there’s some validity to that take, for sure. And yet there are cases of shooters being from intact family units, and with fathers involved. The recent Highland Park, Illinois shooter on the 4th of July is a good example. Dad sponsored his gun purchases. I think there is possibly something else going on. When we look at masculinity in movies, it often involves guns, and vigilante minded ‘heroes’. Perhaps it’s that we are often taught that violence is a correct response to our frustration…

When these criminals / mentally ill / social rejects / whatever you want to call them are overwhelmingly male, it’s a male issue. It’s also an American issue. I specifically don’t want to talk about women regarding this issue, because they aren’t the ones doing this. I want to talk about what is happening to white American men that make them feel the need to do this. Changing the subject to women is inappropriate.

Maybe it’s because the mother stuck around and the father didn’t. I’d say the single mothers tend to have more of more of a positive influence than being fatherless. It’s probably more likely that the lack of a father figure contributes more to mass shootings than being raised by a single mother.

Here’s another example - if I have no legs, that doesn’t mean I can walk because most other people have legs. Therefore, my personal truth would be “I don’t have legs so I can’t walk, or maybe I can get some of those robotic legs if I’m wealthy enough, or just stick with a wheelchair. Life is not as easy for me as it is for you.” That is true. You can still walk, but they won’t. True. You experience the world differently. True. This is how personal truths work.

That’s because it’s a decision about a woman’s body. Parenting is secondary.
/r/MensRights30/06/22 05:49 PM

Because most of the conversations about mens rights are misogynistic and tone deaf. A lot of times it’s not really taking context into consideration and the tone of the movement is very “tit for tat”. “Women hate men so I hate women” is pretty tone deaf. “Circumcision is the same as abortion and I didn’t have a choice” is pretty tone deaf. MRA definitely has valid points, but they’re never going to get support being so focused on tone deaf arguments.
/r/MensRights30/06/22 05:48 PM

Yes. Well not “we”…just women. We (men) can have conversations about the decision with our pregnant partner, but cannot make the decision. That’s not how medical decisions work. That’s medical ethics 101. More than 90% of terminated pregnancies happen before 15 weeks. That’s what women choose and is by far the least controversial time to abort. The rest are usually determined to be medically necessary. Later term abortions just don’t happen very much and when they do, something is probably going…
/r/MensRights30/06/22 05:30 PM

Neither, I believe I said it’s natural. Psychology is interesting and the brain responds to trauma in ways that makes sense…to psychologists anyway. It’s a big topic and psychologists don’t really agree or disagree with the observations…but when observations show normalcy, then it makes sense. For example - PTSD is psychological yes….but also now it can be observed and treated as a physical injury. What I experienced in my childhood is not the same childhood that you experienced. My reality was different than yours. It’s a fundamental nature of sentient beings. If I was abused, my reality of childhood is pretty shitty. Yours might be cheery, but my reality is different. Trauma doesn’t end…it affects adulthood too. It shapes the real world you inhabit. I think it’s natural that anybody who experiences trauma from anything, especially if it’s trauma from multiples of the same ‘thing’ would have a negative reaction toward that thing. I think it’s natural for people’s dislike to turn into resentment, and even hate. That where men lose…the mindset of “you didn’t help me so I won’t help you” rather than building inclusivity and togetherness in the quest for equality. It’s just some toxic behavior. Tit for tat. It never works out. All that does is culture resentment and loathing. We gotta stop doing that. Tax dollars fund planned parenthood sure, but none of that money pays for abortions. Do some research. There are all kinds of reasons people get abortions and presuming you know everything about their situation is everything wrong with this discussion. Women don’t want to have abortions. That’s a pretty simplistic argument. The fetus doesn’t have a complete body until about halfway through the second trimester when the nervous system is nearing completion, and the brain isn’t really developed until the third. Most abortions happen within 15 weeks, the first trimester. The fetus is basically a little more than a glob of cells. Putting a fetus ahead of a mothers is not pro-life. Trauma is not psychosis. I think any gender distrusting the other gender is natural because it’s so general. Your citing specific groups of people, and I think the ‘natural reaction’ turns into racism when, say for example, white people say “all black peoples are____” without having the broader conversation about why that may be. Like historic oppression and issues that disproportionately affect only certain groups of people. Perhaps because oppression is on purpose…not because the oppressed are…
/r/MensRights27/06/22 07:39 PM
1

It’s complicated. I think it’s natural. Psychologists would probably agree…at least on a case by case basis. So, I think it’s not right…but it makes sense. It makes sense for men and women. Men can help women face their trauma, and women can help men face their trauma. And that’s at the core of what I’m trying to say. We need to help each other feel safe, not create more hostility. That feeds a cycle of resentment and hate, and we need to break that cycle.
/r/MensRights27/06/22 06:35 PM
1

Not at all…I’m saying that’s why women feel apprehension, and yes even hate towards men. I didn’t say anywhere that it’s right. A lot of people here don’t understand facts though. Experiences influence behavior. It’s basic cognitive psychology. You made up my endorsement of this behavior, and that’s called a projection.
/r/MensRights27/06/22 06:25 PM

I was not. That’s nowhere in my comment. I’m stating facts for people who refuse to see facts. Do you not agree, women and men have unique experiences?
/r/MensRights27/06/22 06:23 PM

Weird that you would send a link…thought it was a different thread. You could just refer to it as my first comment. That’s less confusing. If you’re interested in that. But also, not at all what I said. I didn’t say fuck men because we’re wife beaters…I said that’s trauma a lot of women carry. Men too, sure. But I was talking about why women act a certain way towards men.
/r/MensRights27/06/22 06:14 PM

Look, my stance is - it’s complicated. You’re conflating a lot of things here. You seem to want a fight, not a conversation. We’re clearly not going to solve anything here, me and you. You’re flinging a bunch of topics all over the place. If you can’t focus, I can’t talk. Let’s start (or end) with this - women and men have unique experiences.
/r/MensRights27/06/22 06:13 PM
1

Are you stalking me?? I’m not even gonna dig into that…you should comment over there if you want to have a conversation about what I said OVER THERE. You’re taking things out of context. I also didn’t say any of the things your saying I said over there either. Again, that’s called projecting.
/r/MensRights27/06/22 06:02 PM
1

They totally do. It’s still different, because pregnancy is a medical experience that men will never have. I only mentioned the trauma caused by men to paint a picture that this influences how others see us. I didn’t take a stance on it, that’s you projecting that onto what I said. I only said we’re different….which is true
/r/MensRights27/06/22 06:01 PM
1

I said nothing like that at all, you’re projecting
/r/MensRights27/06/22 05:57 PM
0

Wow, that’s what you got from what I said? Read again, I think you’re projecting. I basically said that men have or used and women have vaginas and a womb. The literally makes our physical experience of pregnancy different. It’s literally not prejudice. We are all human, yes but half of use have a fundamentally different experience of pregnancy.
/r/MensRights27/06/22 05:34 PM
2

I never said men aren’t abused, they absolutely are. I have (I’m a man). I essentially was saying men will never have to be pregnant from abuse. If we can’t admit this is fundamentally different, then we have already lost the debate.
/r/MensRights27/06/22 05:06 PM
0

None of that makes sense. I never brought race into the equation, and I never said who has it worse, I said it’s not comparable because the two realities faced be men and women are fundamentally different. You are right, your body is yours. Did you have another point to make with that
/r/MensRights27/06/22 05:03 PM
-2

Well, a lot of women have sexual and/or relationship trauma…by men. Also, it’s their body. Not ours. Our issues are different and are not related to healthcare. Get it? Talking about women’s rights and mens rights in the outcome of a pregnancy is not an apples to apples discussion. There are valid arguments to be made, but “I’m the same in this situation as a woman” is not one of them. I’d say the case for mens rights is probably stronger by dropping that perspective altogether. Because then we …
/r/MensRights27/06/22 02:28 AM

Yes, you ;) I see you getting downvotes for making sense…me too, but I ain’t quitting anytime soon. Mens rights has valid arguments, but the amount of crazy comparisons is undermining any legitimate issues. I don know why men have such a hard time understanding that autonomy in medical decisions is ethically mandated in healthcare. It’s tough shit, but it’s a dangerous road to take away medical autonomy for anything. Keep fighting the good fight out there. I’m with you ✊
/r/MensRights27/06/22 01:08 AM

It’s not strictly about parenthood. It’s about autonomy, which is a medical ethics standard in all areas of healthcare.

Pro-choice is about medical autonomy and is an ethical standard in healthcare. The choice part of pro-choice is a medical choice. This is a difficult subject for sure, but let’s me clear that medical autonomy is at the center of it.

True, but actually I think they just decided that Roe v Wade is the wrong angle. It’s built on flimsy arguments and even abortion rights supporters could see it. Unfortunately, lots of women have real bad experiences with men, or know of stories framed in the situations you experienced. I’d say the easiest way to help everyone out is maybe to make some very small adjustments. To be helpful. To not do something that is scary to someone else. Slow your walk, or something really small. It can make a big difference. Having rights doesn’t need to come at the cost of making others feel unsafe. All that does is contributes to a more hostile world…and no one nee…

This is a philosophical question, and a darn good one at that. I think legally, it’s hard to say who should have more responsibility so the compromise is that both should have responsibility. It’s a shit situation, but that’s the reality and it’s hard to have it any other way. Honestly, it’s unclear what you’re talking about
/r/MensRights25/06/22 09:54 PM

That sounds like an awful personal matter you’re in..sorry to hear that. The danger with changing that, is that a lot of men will use it as a way to intentionally, or unintentionally damage women’s life’s, and even the child. I think the legal argument why men should have to pay child support is because having a baby involves time, effort, and money. To make a woman absorb all of that is not legally fair. What’s the legal argument for not paying?
/r/MensRights25/06/22 09:51 PM

Well, I’d say more existential research is needed on that but is also underfunded….because who cares (?) or something Most abortions occur at less that 13 weeks…the first trimester. The nervous system is not functioning until beyond that…so you’re basically an evolved gob of snot until about 14-15 weeks. Abortions after the first trimester are rare and usually have some sort of medical necessity. So really, most abortions are with a fetus that is nowhere close to sentient and when they are it’s …
/r/MensRights25/06/22 07:07 PM
-2

You’re talking about family planning. Abortion is a different issue. If it isn’t your body, you don’t have a choice. Bodily autonomy is a medical ethics standard. No one can tell me I have to accept my cancer tumor, or tell me I have to get my cavities filled. That’s my choice alone. Same for a woman, with anything happening in THEIR body, not yours. Stay in your lane.
/r/MensRights25/06/22 06:54 PM
-2

Because it has to do with bodily autonomy, not parenthood. That’s a discussion for you and your partner. Ultimately, bodily autonomy dictates the person who owns the body that will experience the medical condition is the only person who should have the right to choose. It’s a medical ethics standard.

So you see how women’s reproductive rights affects men too. If a woman can’t abort a pregnancy, we’re on the line. Men - don’t act like our spunk is some precious life form. It’s not. The concept of bodily autonomy is present in all areas of healthcare….except pregnancy. If it isn’t your body, you shouldn’t have a choice in what happens to it. Sorry guys, God made it this way.

Well it’s not your choice to make. The 3rd trimester is when the brain develops explosively and finally matures…of course that continues until you’re 25. But still, it is an interesting dilemma and one must admit, there is an evolution from being simply a fertilized egg to becoming human. When that occurs is debatable I guess, but we should do that instead of simply ban abortion

I guess we should make doctors go through the rigorous pitfalls before you’re “allowed” to have the procedure. Multiple visits and trying to talk you out of it. If we want equality, that’s only fair, right?

Pro choice all the way. Bodily autonomy is a medical standard. The only choice men have the right to are - wear a condom, have a discussion with your lady about what you want. That’s where it ends.

A) it’s not a baby, it’s a fetus. Men throw away billions of sperm every time you wank…they’re not precious. B) ITS NOT YOUR BODY C) men can and do just walk away….so a woman should be stuck with the baby? D) “abortion is not a womens issue….” You are in fact gaslighting. You can’t say anything else affecting your body is not your issue…or is a shared issue. It’s not how bodies work. It’s not yours, then leave it alone. You want a discussion, fine, have one. But ultimately, you need to respect w…

Condoms have spermicide in them, and you can always dispose of the condom in a way that makes you comfortable. It’s called accountability. You’re missing a big deciding factor for most women. Pregnancy is a thing that happens to their body and some women are not ready for that, can’t afford that, can’t be tied to an abusive partner who impregnated them, etc…all kinds of reasons. Men do not and should not have the right to tell a woman that she must endure a pregnancy.

I had some great and some mediocre teachers from both sexes. I think women lean toward teaching because they have historically been stuck with the child rearing duties. They do seem more inclined toward nurturing tasks than men. Men who end up in teaching seem to also have that nurturing instinct though. I agree and you’re right, I should and will consider the trauma of men in this group more and cut as much slack as possible. Well that’s a start. As I see it, women have easier access to providing evidence. That’s still an issue for men and there’s room for improvement. That’s the kind of stuff we need to be thinking about.

Exactly! We all live inside that framework. It’s easy to feel safe until you need protection. Then you can quickly become the pariah, if it suits the case. We really need to talk about the system more here. Lots of vague grumblings about men being abused…not a lot of solutions. To me, the solutions are solutions for everyone, because they are systemic issues. But men here love to ostracize women…which I’ll never understand. We are the same when it comes to abuse. What I’m trying to foster here is solutions. What I’m reading from what you’re saying, we need reform on the whole. We need better ways of presuming innocence (as much as that makes me want to barf, when men are the overwhelming majority of offenders). Almost all our problems in society are systemic. That sounds like a problem with the guys legal defense team. They sound terrible at their job. Character examination should be a very forward focus if someone is claiming false rape.

Sexual history. People can testify to your character. That’s allowed.
/r/MensRights30/05/22 01:37 PM

Suspicion is just that. You can’t parade them as fact. Data matters. I absolutely believe men get abused, but I want to see more data on women falsely claiming rape.
/r/MensRights30/05/22 01:36 PM
-7

Rape shield laws are different…they prevent sexual history from playing into the case. Your personality is a different matter. As far as I know, character assessment is a part of virtually all criminal trials. Even witnesses are subject to character examination. Look at the Johnny Depp trial, lots of character examination happening there.
/r/MensRights30/05/22 03:57 AM
-15

Can people cite case studies? How are you all sure that these women are falsely accusing men of rape?
/r/MensRights30/05/22 03:52 AM
-14

How do you prove this?
/r/MensRights30/05/22 03:51 AM
-24

What are you basing that assumption on?
/r/MensRights30/05/22 01:24 AM
-30

Yeah but usually the truth can be vetted through character evidence and witnesses. If a person is willing to lie about being raped, they probably have a history of being an awful person and there are people who would testify to that fact. There are a lot of judicial tools available for figuring out if someone is telling the truth or not. Conversely, there are people willing to testify about your character too. Good or bad. All the more reason to be a good person in this world.

If you’re going to generalize and claim you KNOW…then you can’t be taken seriously. You do not know what feminists are…they come in too many sizes and shapes. People are diverse and so are agendas. You’re also citing a country very far away that is in the hard beginnings of womens rights. Women face different issues there. Give them a break, you do not know what it’s like to be a child bride, and the child of your mother who is also a child bride, in a country where it’s normal and is impossible…

Assumptions and generalizations about feminists, me included. I’m also pro mens rights by the way. People can be both. You think feminists are losing steam? Like bodily autonomy is a fad or something? No no no my friend, conservative men just kicked the hornets nest. The fight is just getting started. You want to energize oppressed people….oppress them more. Men have no right telling women what they should do with their body, same goes for men. This isn’t hard.

Hijacking the SCOTUS draft as a mens issue is not going to help anything. It will hurt everyone. Mens rights will gather less sympathy and more opposition. That’s an attitude that will create a more hostile attitude. Again, calling “Bullshit” is a real easy way to come across as a gaslighter. The article already says how men could abuse the law - if a man rapes a woman, he could just say she raped him. That means men who rape women automatically can turn that around and get out of it. In this way, the issue is complicated. I’m pushing for this argument to have more foresight…how do we prove a woman has raped a man? Women have had this burden for centuries and now it’s finally being taken seriously. They have…

“More bullshit” is a bullshit / gaslighting attitude. It’s a difficult topic, admit it. Gaslighting is saying someone’s perspective is laughable without truly engaging with the issue. That’s what you’re doing, not me. You want me to agree with you but aren’t giving any insight other than an “I’m right, you’re wrong” attitude. I want to debate this as the Supreme Court would, but you seem happy to just laugh me off the stage for trying to unpack this issue in more than black and white.

Who’s legalizing rape??? You’re jumping to some wild conclusions. It sounds like you’re trapped in some rigid perspectives. You’re not even playing along with this debate, it’s just simply a closed case for you. I’m trying to point out that things have nuance and context. Sure, men get abused and I sympathize with that, truly. But civilizations haven’t been built on the principle that men are less than women. It’s the other way around.

What harm has it caused you? I’m a man, so if you’re saying it’s harmed you, then you’re saying it’s harmed me….if you believe in men’s rights for all men, that is. Notice how you’re trying to silence me because you don’t like the things I’m saying. Interesting parallel to the argument 🤔 So far it seems like you and some of these other guys here just want to be able to say whatever you want without consequence. I’m just saying there are some things you can’t say anymore without consequence. “I h…

My solution is that it’s just not an issue and isn’t causing real harm. The censorship has historical context and is pretty easy to accept, actually. Just be humble and move on. Twitch is NOT trying to take away this persons right to free speech, they are simply say “nope, not that”. Can you imagine making the same argument for someone saying “I hate black people”? It’s racist, because of context (historical, and present). It’s not just a thing someone is saying. It has caused and still causes r…

Feminism is a reaction to the amount of work there is to do before humanism is possible. The same can be said about race. Until the playing field is truly leveled, with equal representation present in the workforce, politics, police, science, trades, etc., feminism serves the role of pushing/pulling to make cultural spaces more welcome in historically male dominated places. Until there is equal representation in all areas of the world, feminism will have a strong purpose. That doesn’t threaten m…

Ever hear of the patriarch? It’s more than a few people who did bad things… just saying. It’s more than just the one person saying it. The whole group matters.

I don’t need your respect. I’m just here to add some perspective. I don’t think it’s fair to call every little thing like this discrimination. Discrimination against women and minorities brings real harm. When a company shuts down hate against women, by men, no one is harmed. That’s not discrimination, that’s just consequence.

You could make the same argument about people threatening to commit an act of violence in that it can be said if they mention a gun and using it against people then it’s 2nd amendment discrimination action. Yet, there’s a history now of people like that following up their posts with a violent act. But we know now that expressing violent views should be taken seriously. Getting a warning that something violates twitch’s terms is not discrimination alone. It’s a tricky topic for sure, but I think …

No, I’m saying the internet has changed things. Certain people (men) have a history of expressing hate and violence that is followed up with violent action. This changes the context. It’s not so simple as discrimination because there is precedent.

Context. Men have a history of being violent against women they hate. Women have a history of hating men because of violence towards women.

There’s is some debate about whether the right to vote is guaranteed by the constitution. Those who say it does argue that it is implied by other things, being that a democratic society require voting, and so does a representative government. The Supreme Court has also established the precedent over and over that affirms voting as a constitutionally protected right. I think there’s room for nuance in that most things will probably get settled at the state level, but the highest court does have a…

Thanks for clarifying. A) read your post I replied to…I understand what you’re trying to say now but it doesn’t read like your taking a stance on gender discrimination. We could have started there. I appreciate you pointing out that there is a gender discrepancy with selective service. That’s a different topic than I thought you were banned for. B) refer to A. I’m not censoring, I was sharing my opinion. A persona challenging a thought is not censorship. It’s a consequence. “Thought crimes” - I’…

Unpopular is one thing. But if you’re legitimately trying to make an argument that we should have a mandatory military service or voters rights taken away, then that’s dangerous. Do you not see that? However, if you’re just trying to do a debate, then it’s not dangerous to explore dangerous viewpoints. It’s just that with this being the internet and all, it’s hard to tell if your advocating for that or just trying to debate. That might be the difference in saying something that gets you banned o…

Sexism is an idea, people implement it. It’s obviously a complicated topic to say where sexism comes from, and I hear what you’re trying to say. However, I think the framing of your opinion is a bit simplistic. Sexism can’t be addressed by anyone if neither men nor women can own it. We humans need things to be less abstract, otherwise our monkey brains will never understand that the problem could be me, or you, or a boss, or a politician. We’ll just assume someone else will fix whatever ‘it’ is.…

Why would you say that? Rights are “unalienable”, voting is a constitutional right. Mandatory service is nowhere in the constitution.

Don’t worry about it. Toughen up but stay sensitive. Remember that no one owes you anything. Give less fucks. Try to meet friends, not go on dates. I think I just met someone super special (this is an understatement) after years enduring dating apps. Omg she’s great 😊 Be curious, don’t take anything too seriously, and accept that you don’t need ghosting in your life. That makes it easier to say “fuck it” when someone does it. When messaging, all you can really do is be genuine and throw it into …
