This is outrageous. Is this really what we've come to? What a criminal I was in college! Well, I'm happy at least to say that all of my victims remain friends.

Subject/pronoun agreement is lacking here...

Look again. There were slightly over 300 murder offenses in Harris county.

That was written by a Real Dipshit.

Yes, calling the cops is not always necessary of course. I am just trying to point out that each side has the same access to official resources in a situation like this. Were the wrongfully slapped man to find it important to fight back against the "Oohs" and "aw snaps," he would also have the alternate option of getting on a soap box right there in the restaurant and pleading his case to the diners. I take the OP's point overall, however. The likeliest scenarios as he imagined them are more or …

That's not true, and especially not in a case like the one described, where there are ample witnesses. Did you ever watch the show COPS, for example? I tried to avoid it as much as possible, but when I did, I saw plenty of times where the woman got arrested. You could try to say that's just because of the tv cameras, but saying so would only underscore the point that under the law, the physical aggressor is the criminal, regardless of gender.

Technically, no one is allowed to hit anyone. Regardless of the crowd reaction, if the dude wanted to call the cops and press charges, he could. There'd be no shortage of witnesses. It's as much on the man to claim his rights and protections as it is on society to grant them.

Thanks guys...This is a poorly written piece, and alarmist at best. One could replace the word "feminism" in the title with any other fearsome noun or 'ism'. Anyone who opposes the EU, or supra-nationalism as a theory in general, will superimpose their own niche worst-fears upon the institution's agenda. I'd like to see a maturer analysis that actually demonstrates some degree of likelihood that something like outlawing anti-feminist speech is going to happen.

Can somebody point out the feminism related thesis statement so I can go from there?

Funny Onion story...In any case, there's absolutely nothing questionable or shameful about any man being a stay home dad, or a great parent in general.

For a moment I thought I was reading a story out of The Onion, until I noticed how bad the writing is.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
