What’s the most you guys have spent on your legal fees?125k on attorneys. 225k in settlements for a 4 year marriage. Not calculating child support for the next 15 years. Had a decent rental portfolio that I had to sell off to pay for it all and now going back to a W2 job. She was a nurse who decided she wasn’t happy because some scrub tech gave her attention. Cost me my business and half the time with my son. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/06/25 07:37 PM
New partner not liking my kidThis is it OP. What she said. Appreciate you acknowledging your stance too. These are the most important years of your son’s life. Be there and kick her ass to the curb. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/03/25 10:44 PM
The Bullet wasn’t SilverOh absolutely! I don’t understand why someone cant just go through the process without the mud throwing. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/03/25 07:25 PM
The Bullet wasn’t SilverI agree We all share blame in the downfall of the marriage, but the actions during the divorce process is a different story. That bitch could’ve walked, collected half the assets I built for us, and give me a fair amount of time with our son. Instead she decided to nuke my entire life via false DV claims. It was an ordeal for me because I hold an HP clearance and that was fucking nightmare to fight. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/03/25 10:47 PM
The Bullet wasn’t SilverI feel like we should create our own support group/meet up just to vent about this shit. Same thing happened to me. Almost a year of my 2 year olds life taken from me and 30k to beat it in attorney fees. Plus the PTSD from jail is the cherry. | /r/Divorce_Men | 25/03/25 10:43 PM
The ‘DON’T LEAVE YOUR HOME’,’GET 50-50 CUSTODY’and ‘LET THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS KNOW ABOUT THE CHEATING’ are not an option anymore. The DA tried to charge with me with domestic A and also SA because she said I hit her because she wouldn’t sleep with me. That 30k for my criminal attorney was the best money I ever spent. I wish I had a video of him embarrassing the DA. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/25 08:23 PM
The ‘DON’T LEAVE YOUR HOME’,’GET 50-50 CUSTODY’and ‘LET THE FAMILY AND FRIENDS KNOW ABOUT THE CHEATING’ are not an option anymore.Yup. She asked me to move out during the process. I said nope, I built this house and I’ll just move into my office downstairs. 48 hours later I was arrested for domestic assault (which never happened). Spent 12 hours in jail. Told I was not to return to my home and was immediately served an order of protection. She got sole custody for 8 months while I fought the charge. 30k later, it was dismissed with no recourse on her. Her attorney was her best friends husband. He coached her through it all… | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/02/25 01:53 AM
| – | February 9, 2022. Single Father. Divorced.Good luck sir! My attorney saved my life, but his retainer for a DV case was 30k. I hope you have a great attorney. The DA attempted to absolutely destroy me. My lawyer killed their entire case in 30 minutes and they had no other option other than to dismiss. But it still cost me money that I’ll never get back so it’s hard to celebrate the win. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/25 07:15 PM |
February 9, 2022. Single Father. Divorced.Doing better myself. Got hit with the fake DV claim, arrested, and thrown out of my home. Fast forward a year, im cleared criminally, got my house back, and 50/50 with my kid while she rents and has a loser BF. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/02/25 11:25 PM
Anyone had to be subjected to breathalyzers for custody?Experience here! I have to stop doing this soberlink bullshit on 9/11 when we go to our custody trial. She made me out to be an alcoholic when her false DV claim got dismissed. Like you, there have been times where I’m a few minutes late and they act like the world is ending. Like someone’s BAC is really gonna go to nothing within 10 minutes. pS, soberlink is a damn scam in my opinion. Comical to me the courts only accept the most expensive product on the market. | /r/Divorce_Men | 30/08/24 08:18 PM
SoberlinkSame thing happened to me. I agreed to do this for 9 months. Had 3 total positives (all of which were false). The highest being like 0.006. Her lawyer keeps trying to use it against me. Only thing I could ever trace it back to was soy sauce because we had eaten Japanese each time it happened. With that said, I think soberlink is a useful tool for people who had spouses that were true alcoholics. In my case, it was nothing more than just a $200/month family court bullshit scam. My last test will … | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/08/24 03:28 PM
