If the student was asked to leave by the teacher and refused, told to leave by the officer and refused, the use of physical force was warranted. The article you linked uses nicely inflammatory language (body slammed, etc) but show me where the student suffered damage (besides to her feelings). The officer grabbed her to get her to stand up. You see her react and grab the desk to prevent the officer from lifting her. The officer used force to get her to let go of the desk.
