Depends on your local laws, but child support is paid to the parent who takes care of the child by a parent who does not take care of the child. If both parents have shared custody, then typically there is no child support unless you live somewhere where the higher income parent still pays more. Actually on the contrary. My wife took our daughter to spend a month with her mother and the house was the cleanest it's been in months, I made all the meals I wanted without worrying about timing and went to the gym for more hours since I could set my own pace. Do they ever do anything that adds value? As far as I've worked with HR, it's just been the case of "I need this form" or "I have a new hire that needs to be added to the system".
