As an Arch Linux user I can really respect the fact that she's an Arch expert. Maybe she's a system administrator?

I wouldn't be too sure about that. I rock the bald with goatee look and I find there's a lot of women who like that look. I spent a few years in the invisible, stealth mode you mentioned, but that was because I had thinning hair and I wasn't in shape. That's a terrible look on anyone. Once I buzzed it off, grew the beard, hit the gym and got some better fitting clothes I felt like I leveled up. I get plenty of female attention now but I keep it at arms length by choice. MGTOW for life!

Check my comment above for a pic ^ It's a 2008 Suzuki GS500F. And yes, I'll be riding around enjoying the wind and sunshine which is hella better than getting dragged by a leash through Ikea to buy housewares.

It's easy to get caught up in the equipment, but the important thing is to just get yourself up on two wheels. I wouldn't really recommend getting a shiny new bike as your first. You might drop it or otherwise injure it while you're learning and it'll hurt to see a $10,000 machine get banged up, but not-so-much if it's just a $3000 used bike. Whatever you wind up getting is probably not going to be what you'll be riding a year or two from now. I'd say just get something that's in decent shape th…

There's a discussion here about the R3 for taller riders. I would also look at the Versys.

I'm going with the Bridgestone Battlax BT45 Sport Touring Tire which is the OEM tire for my 2008 Suzuki GS500F. If you're looking to get your first bike a lot of people would recommend a Kawasaki Ninja 250. Come join us over in /r/motorcycles !

Thanks! I took it out tonight to run an errand, and when I got home I couldn't bring myself to pull into my driveway. Zipped on by and just rode around for another 20 minutes or so just because.

Happened to me just today. I was about to pass a car on the left and they started to make a left u-turn from the right lane. We both screeched our brakes and avoided the hit though. Half of city riding is anticipating what other people might do.

Thanks for the concern. I'm hyper-alert when riding. I also study traffic accidents on YouTube to see how they happen, as well as by reading accident studies. Maybe the most common motorcycle accident involving other vehicles is someone making a left turn in front of them.

I'm out the other end of divorce, all payments made in full and on time. Now I finally have a little money for myself! edit: The bike is a 2008 Suzuki GS500F.

I'm in my prime earning years right now and I can tell you where I disappeared to. After getting rekked by a divorce and then the housing crash, when I had a chance to transfer out of the US and start over in Canada I jumped at it. Since then I've paid well over $100k CAD in income tax alone.. tax money which would have gone to the US if I would have stayed. I went from being hopelessly in debt in the US to being comfortably in the black in Canada. As an aside, even though I earn zero dollars pe…

If he hadn't married her he'd still have the truck plus enough money for a cottage to drive it to on weekends.

Toronto gets a bad rap because we have a high concentration of SJWs but who cares, I'm not trying to date them anyway. I don't mind sharing my awesome city with people with other opinions. Now for my non-MGTOW brothers trying to play the dating game here.. yeah, sucks for them.

A lot of people in this thread are making this out to be a black female thing, but this attitude is the same across the races. Still, she really puts a fine point on it. What a sad state of affairs.

Pilot, especially in the Middle East, Asia, or Africa. The pay is relatively high (a buddy of mine just took a job flying in Angola for $125k CAD/yr tax-free) doing a one-month-on, one-month-off schedule. He usually flies home to Toronto for his month off, but could just as easily go anywhere else. If you're single it's hard to beat this lifestyle in my opinion.

I upvoted your post because it adds to the discussion, but I disagree with your position. I'm not at war with women, and I think anyone male or female who needs healthcare should get it whether or not they can afford it, and I'm not against some of my tax money paying for it. To me, MGTOW is specifically about the treatment of females towards alpha and beta males, and the treatment of males by divorce courts. The subject of wealth redistribution falls outside of that scope. Clearly you and I hav…

Those are very specific items which use a tiny, tiny percent of the tax money being collected. Saying we want as close to zero tax as possible is saying we're against all the other 99.9% of the things that tax money goes to pay for, and that has nothing to do with MGTOW.

It's like any other 'controversial' position. You're not under any obligation to discuss it if you don't want to. The two topics you're not supposed to talk about in polite company are religion and politics. MGTOW definitely falls under politics. While I don't think it's a good idea to lie (and say you want to get married), there's nothing wrong with saying that you're happily straight and single and don't wish to discuss it further. Besides, how often to people (besides your parents) actually p…

I live in Toronto, and I can't see why living here would interfere with the MGTOW life. Who cares if there's a lot of SJWs here, we're not going to marry them anyway. There's certainly no shortage of women here (with Asia, India, and the Middle East well represented), and if you're reasonably attractive you'll have no trouble finding the type you like. Just sticking up for my awesome city!

Divorce is all about custody and property. If there's no kids and no real assets and she's agreeable, you can do it yourself. In my case we had kids and property, and since we weren't angry at each other we just went to a mediator who drew a line down the middle of a whiteboard and wrote his and hers on either side. We did the main agreement in one afternoon. Good luck.
