I really like her. When I think of being without her, I have an empty feeling in my stomach. I love parts of her character and person, and conversely there are some parts I could do without! I may be suffering from oneitis, but I guess it's always hardest to see when you're involved in it. I also explained the bit about happiness to her as a way of separating my feelings of needing to make her happy, because I've been caught out with that before, too many times. I worry, I make myself responsibl…

Thanks for replying. I must admit, your first three points made it sound like you were raising a pet, not trying to be in a healthy relationship, though I can understand why some people think it's the same thing. Your first point I disagree with, I don't see my partner as some submissive housewife waiting for me to decide what she has to do. Your fourth point (Dread game) I can see how it works, and is a little useful to prevent complacency. Your fifth point, I completely agree with. I'm a cool,…

I hear what you're saying, but I asked it like that because I wanted to verbally catch her out. I was trying to take the conversation to the conclusion that I knew where it was heading to, and I wanted her to continue to deny sex when it meant it didn't achieve what she wanted. But you're right, usually there would have been no validation-seeking required on my part!

Thanks for the feedback. I always try to be firm but level-headed. I'm hoping out talk will help her shed some of the clinginess, and realise it's not some competition for her to make me happy. Cook me breakfast sometimes, fuck me regularly, take care of your own happiness, and I'll take care of mine. That's my perfect relationship right there!

Thanks for the feedback! I was initially concerned about falling into the provider trap, but for the moment she pays her fair share. I've told her what I expect from her about moving in and paying for it, I'm not leaving any wiggle room. Whilst I do pay for the majority of things, I'm not going to be a meal ticket.

"LTR reveals RP truths" Newbie here, first field report. I've been reading TRP for about a month now, and although I don't agree with everything here, some of the things I've read have become self-evident and I firmly believe to be true. I've been in an LTR for 20 months with a great girl. She's been living with me for the past 8 months. Since reading TRP, I've learned more about shit tests, hamstering, frame, etc., and although I have a long way to go to understand it all, I've started noticing…
