Forgive my stupid questions then, but given the fact that this dude repeatedly bad mouthed me behind my back, he's a decent guy? You were being a dick. Him bad mouthing you doesn't give him "alpha" points, but in this context, it was acceptable. I know you mentioned teeth, but I would add/emphasize flossing. I always felt like I had bad breath even though I brush twice a day and used mouth wash. What really fixed it for me was when I started flossing about 3-4 times a week. Bacteria colonies form in-between teeth that brushing alone won't fix. And they will leave an odor that comes through once post-brushing "fresh breath" fades.
