Can you elaborate on why this is insulting? The risk I'd have is he wouldn't return my money. He'd use me for my money to get more for himself

We're both not really ethical. I know his father is rich and puts high demands on him. My friend has a good life: he owns two companies, he's responsible, makes his own money, and a lot of it. He's just very very unethical. I am not ethical either, as I know he's ripping of his father and I'd like to profit from that as well. The question is how to argue a fair %. You are right that the deal is more dangerous as I know beforehand he is not ethical, hence why I am considering not making a deal wh…

The money is his father's though, so when his father would die, he is entitled to it. So it's a 'little' more his than mine. Anyways, thanks for your 2 cents. I'll go with a high% (about 40-50%) or just not do business with a friend at all.

Haha, are you 15yo? He's being very judgmental. 'BS explanation', I know his father personally and I know about the deal. I KNOW it's not a high risk venture. Indeed I am a little buthurt bitch! Trying to keep a decent discussion here between grown ups. Never known TRP to advise foul language straight away. Seems more like a weakness to me. Impatient, jumping to conclusions, .. Being an ASKTRP endorsed contributor doesn't mean he's GOD or always right, FYI. You'd be better off being sceptic, eve…

I could say 50% as well. Even if he got 1%, he'd be better off. The question is: where is the balance, what is the correct %?

I don't mix money and friends, ever. might be good advice here. Now I realize something, later in life: people who can't save money are useless fucks as friends. He actually saved a lot of money. If his father is gonna double it, why wouldn't you get him to double more? (extra free money) gal on facebook agreed, serves her well. 80% would be worth the risk, if he's otherwise trustworthy. we've never had disagreements about money before. Also as he's rich and has a lot of cash (dirty money, works…

no need to swear.. I know his father, I've known about the deal for a long time. He's not lying to me. Also, as I said: "thoughts about getting my money back aside". Thanks for the reminder though.

Haha, I guess this won't happen. Also, it sounds very distrustful, and he will take offence ('you don't trust me after all we've been through?). Mind you: we're both upper middle class, west-european.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
