Interesting perspective and I somewhat agree. I think it depends, because as it's mentioned in other one of the other comments, military is like a corporate job. I work for a very large consultancy firm at the moment, but also just have to follow orders - but the job impresses a lot of people. If you work with a craft, you also have to follow orders - if you're not the business owner. To me, it's an interesting question, because I have been in your situation - just in another country and another degree. I chose to stay with my law degree and to finish my Master's, because it has great promise both financially and job wise. However, I see the degree as my foundation only.
