It sounds to me that she’s simply at the beginning of her journey. When we wake up and realize we’re surrounded by toxic people it can feel lonely as we cut those ties. That solitude helps us redefine ourselves and our boundaries. But after that solitude becomes the joy we have when we begin to surround ourselves with only people who are genuine and respect us. Yes, it can be a lonely journey but it is worth it in the end.

Ah, alright. Yes, I agree we’re on the same page! I understand where you were coming from now. Where’s I was coming from is I frequently hear that “women are the moral compass of our families and/or societies” and in some ways I agree. Women do generally seem to have a more innate sense of ethics. Of course we are and we should all be good moral examples and we should all learn from one another. I have no desire to take on a partner’s moral burden and be their only compass. That’s not a partner. That’s a dependent. He better come with a moral compass of his own.
