Legal protections and equality laws. Legislation is everything. All men's problems stem from the fact that women have rights and powers we do not. Once those things are gone, or we possess them too, the field will be level. I'd be willing to bet that when men can choose to not be a parent after the sex act like women can, the rate of birth control failure will plummet almost to zero.
